If penny & grant hill are in there is NO DOUBT, Vince is supposed to be in.
Yea unfortunately the standard has been set. I’m a TMac guy and I know he got injured and that derailed his career to be a HOF even though his prime years was spectacular as well as Penny and Hill, but it was too short due too injuries.
They shouldn’t be there.
Penny is not in the HoF.
All 3 are not hofs. Once again the NBA is weak as a league.
It’s the Basketball HOF…….not the NBA HOF…..Hill deserves to be there on his college career alone…same as Bill Walton…
Vince has over 25,000 career points (21st all-time). Everyone who’s surpassed that threshold is in the HOF or on their way. He also was an 8x All-Star.
He played 20 yrs though
@@bilalamarumosi8282so what?
All-star is a popularity contest. it means the fans love you, it doesnt mean you are such an outstanding player
22 seasons the longevity award just like Queen James
@@taytay8283 😂 I was bout to say Bron played 20 seasons but nobody has issue with the points he scored 😭
It's not the NBA HOF. It's the basketball HOF. You got coaches, women, etc. The NBA needs its own HOF.
The NBA has their own Hall of Fame: The 50 Greatest Players in NBA History from 1996.
@@MrNaturalSez I've never heard it presented like that, but that certainly is a good way to market and present it.
Exactly nba needs it h.o.f.
Chauncey didn’t win a gold medal or NCAA championship, so he’s still not worthy imo
Chauncey didnt do enough to make it even if you include highschool college coaching throw in middle school.
They let anyone in. I like the idea of tightening up the qualifications to get into the HOF.
No because this clown generation is going to put Westbrook in the Hall of Fame and not Billups. If you are letting Westbrook in then you have to let a bunch of people in.
Chris been interrupting rob … and then says “let me finish “ lol
That's funny AF😂
Exactly.
He does it on First Things First too. He interrupts Nick in every segment.
The stuff Rob been saying the show is better...Caitlin Clark can play in the NBA he came from the strip club straight to show with that nonsense
Chris always over talking and talk too much and then say let me talk when Rob cuts him off
Chris letting someone finish a thought before he interrupts = impossible challenge.
He loves to hear himself talk and is a professional at railroading and having control of the conversation. lol Constantly talking over and interrupting, while screaming “Let me finish!” when Rob tries to finish his statement. lol
...bruh, its intolerable. I can't listen to their show
Chris defends the basketball Hall of Fame like he’s freaking married to it! 😂
He has to or he’ll get his other voting rights stripped. He probably also wants to get a hall of fame vote so he’s gonna defend it until he gets one 😂😂
I believe he has a HOF vote……kinda bias.
Great points guys , never knew he has a Hof vote
Broussard always interrupting Rob, Nick, Wildes, or whoever but loves to say, let me finish 🤦🏽♂️

Vince Carter made the NBA popular in an entire country - that should count for something.

TP was a stud period , he just 💩’d on the wrong people on his way out .
Right there is no criteria . The basketball hall of fame is weak
Hall of Very Good
It’s weak because it’s only so many guys that can even be considered. Most guys ain’t top tier hall of fame players as it is. It’s like maybe 10 of those a decade then the lower tier stars follow. If they do it every year it’s always gonna be some guys that are questionable.
Draymond Green will be a Hall of Famer proving you correct!
@@datsapaddlin then they need to stop doing it every year! Skip a few years if none of the players are GREAT enough!!!
@@AdrianMcCoy-ih9uv Yeah every year will make anyone who was a known star will get in but the hall of fame really should be for the top tier greats.
Chris absolutely refuses to let anyone else make a point uninterrupted.
Facts, I was thinking the same thing yesterday listening to a clip 💯
They both do it , it's not that serious
It is serous tho. You get to dominate the conversation and then cut everybody off when it’s there time to speak? Keyshawn Johnson from undisputed is the same way smh

@@donovanshannon1234 not that serious, but that irritating to some listeners trying to hear someone flesh out their point 💯
Vince Carter is a certified Hall of Famer!!! Are you kidding!!! He averaged over 20ppg for over 10 years!!! Is this a joke!? Vince was also a very good 3 pt shooter. If He didn't play so long, His averages would've been much higher.
Yeah Vince is a Hall of Famer no question for me, I like Billups but he's borderline to me.

Vince was also one of the faces of the league.

Yao ming also does not belong to hof as well
Tracy was an elite offensive star for several seasons. A truly feared player. He kept so so teams at least somewhat competitive.
I agree. T-Mac isn’t a HOF.
@@jenjay0167 there's a numerous list I could name before T Mac that doesn't belong. Chauncey Billups being the most recent.
Chris doesn't realize Ben Wallace is 5x All NBA to add to his 4 DPOYS (back to back twice) & finished top 10 in MVP voting 3 times.
Also 2x Rebound league leader
And NBA champion.
Billups finished in top 5
@@MIB_Bos_DoloBillups is a Finals MVP
Exactly. Pistons were one of the greatest Defensive Teams ever & Ben Wallace was the best defender on it. Saying Billups is better than Ben Wallace is like saying Trent Dilfer was better than Ray Lewis because he was the best Offensive player on the SB winning team.
It’s not like the Pistons won one ring out of nowhere and disappeared, they were a force to be reckoned with in the East for a serious stretch.
Yes but people recognize them as a TEAM. They had pieces that complemented each other but none of them were the superstar players of a lebron, mj, Magic to where they just completely stood out. But its weird because the thing has been if you win a championship that makes you a automatic hall of famer which i dont agree with
Uhh yea. They actually won that title and didn't win anything else
Agreed. 6 straight conference finals. Took the Spurs to game 7 in the 05 finals. Had the best record in the league in 06 (64-18). Still went to the ECF in 07 and 08, even without Ben Wallace. Which gives Chauncey some HOF steam, in my opinion.
I'm thinking that folks aren't respecting the dominance of Mr. Big Shot, at the point guard position, over that extended stretch of time. It ain't the Hall of FLASHY. I'll admit, it was only flashy, TO ME, because I appreciated the pure artistry of how Chaunce was totally orchestrating the performance, in ways that apparently it might take a point guard to understand.
I'd be willing to be that the all-time great point guards, from Magic to Steph, would unanimously agree that Chauncy Billups should be a Hall of Famer.
@@kant5696 you're right, they were a 'TEAM' .... Let's get all 5 in the hall then, why stop at just 2?
Vince a HOF, 8 all star appearances, ROY, average 20+ ppg 10x over 20k points 6k rebounds 4k assists and a couple all nba teams
Billups also a HOF, 5 all star appearance, couple all defensive teams and all nba teams, NBA champ and finals MVP.
The basketball HOF does have some questionable guys in there but them 2 guys are HOFers
They aren't all time greats
Vince was good not great
They are all time greats. You can't find 10 players in history who made bigger shots than Billups in big games. And you can't find 10 players in history who changed the game like Vince did, but to mention his all time game winners.
@@jayu7141 Vince didn't change the game🤣🤣🤣 all he known for is dunks
So guess Blake Griffin is a Hall of Famer - BG number are very similar to VC and his scoring average, rebounds and assist is much higher VC.
Draymond Green better not make it if Vince Carter is debatable
My point exactly!!!
Green has way more accolades
@@jayplunks he's got championships thats it. Hes a 4x all star while Vince is 8x. He has a DPOY while Vince was Rookie Of The Year in a stacked class. Wdym "way more accolades" riding Steph Klay and KD to Championships doesnt make you HOF caliber
@jayplunks Accolades or Rings? There is a huge difference.. He has one defective player of the year award and 8 all defensive teams and two all nba teams. 4 rings 1 as the 3rd best player on the team in 15, 2 as the fourth best player in 17 &18, and 1 as the fourth best player in 22. 4 all-star appearances, the only legit one was 2016. 17,18, and 22, his numbers were not all star worthy. So if you are comparing his awards to Chauncey, who was a finals M.V.P. and Vince, who was the driving force in Toronto and New Jersey, you are incorrect.
@@agendaxpushers1322 ignore the 8x all defensive and steals leader in a season.

TMac and VC were in the same team.
I agree with the caller who said athletes need to be “SPECIAL!”
It isn’t enough to just be good or even great. HoF players need to be SPECIAL.
How do we define “special?”
Changing the structure of the game, e.g., Kareem.
Transcending your sport on and off the court, e.g., MJ, Magic, Montana, Bird, Brady, Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard
Achieving things no one thought possible, e.g., Calvin Murphy, A.I., Roy Jones, Jr., Roberto Duran, Salvador Sanchez, O.J. Simpson, Barry Sanders, Bernard King
I also think Mugsy Bogues is a HoFer given what he achieved.
Exhibiting superhuman, iconic feats, e.g., Dominique, Rodman, Earl Campbell, Mike Tyson, Roy Jones, Jr., Thomas Hearns, Bo Jackson, Ken Griffey, Jr., Ichiro, Shaq, Vince Carter
Achieving ridiculously great stats. e.g., Patrick Mahomes, Russell Wilson, Lamar Jackson (he will be a HoF QB), Michael Phelps
Dominating your sport for an extended time, e.g., Wilt, Kareem, Bill Russell, Brady, Roy Jones, Jr., Kareem, P. Manning, Jackie Joyner Kersee, Serena Williams, Edwin Moses, Wayne Gretzky, Martina Navratilova, Carl Lewis, Tim Duncan, Kobe, MJ, Pele
Bringing a special trait or skill to a sport that cannot be duplicated or was irreplaceable, e.g., Rodman, Bernard King, MJ, Mahomes, Pele, Penny Hardaway, Tim Hardaway, Steph Curry, Gary Payton, Charles Barkley, Mugsy Bogues (not in yet), George Foreman, Mike Tyson
Winning an extraordinary number of championships, titles, or medals, e.g., Bill Russell, Roy Jones, Jr., Serena Williams, Roberto Duran, Brady, Kareem, Magic, Tim Duncan, Shaq,
There are others…
Alex English dominated the 1980s era in scoring in a decade with more pure scorers than any other in NBA history. So yes, he is special. He didn’t receive his due credit because of the era in which he played.
Imagine Alex English, Adrian Dantley, Kelly Tripuka, Tom Chambers, Kiki Vandiweigh, Ricky Pierce, Dale Ellis, Andrew Toney, and Xavier McDaniel if they were playing today. They’d all be completely dominant.
By the way, I believe Tom Chambers should be in the HOF

Vince is a HOFamer. First thing, he scored over 25K points in his career. Most, if not all players that hit that mark get in. Second thing is what he has done for basketball in Canada. Same as Yao Ming. Honestly, they are putting Chauncey in solely from his 2004 run. He was the finals MVP and beat the Lakers as major underdogs. And honestly, Ben Wallace was the best player in that series for how he slowed Shaq down. He didn’t stop him but Shaq was frustrated and wasn’t as dominant. Chris is picking and choosing based off his preference. His reasoning for not putting Blake Griffin in did not make any sense. A lot of media and journalists have personal relationships with players. They don’t burn bridges so they don’t speak the truth.
I get what yao did by puttin my eyes on the league but cmon man he should not be in the hall. But i agree they are just puttin him in based off 2004. He has some all star appearances but no one was shaking in their shoes to go against billups. Its was the pistons as a collective that were great

Chauncey No🤙🏿 Vince of course he was one of the best players in the league for almost a decade and plus dudes like Toni kukoc and vlade divac are in the hall🥴
Kukoc and divac in there as a intentional hall a farmer separate title.
I like when the calls are included in these clips keep like that. 👍
If grant hill can make the HoF anyone can
Grant was like 5-6 time All NBA and was dominant before injuries. Relax on Grant
you must have never seen him play. before getting injured, he was heading up the "next mj" crop of talent.
Welcome...our two new hall members.. good job 👍🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Kyle Lowry, Rondo, Blake Griffin, Horford, Aldridge, Igoudala now are all guaranteed HOFers
Rondo ?! A hof'er ?!...HELL NO (as long as I'm still alive and living) Blake Griffin & Kyle Lowry ?! Maybe
Horford, igoudala, Aldridge imoo guaranteed HOFers
@@lamontscott1032 im with you actually. None of these should actually be in the HOF. What im saying is because they put billups in then the bar is low now that these players will get in
@@lamontscott1032playoff Rondo is a real thing. Rondo over Billups for sure. He has more rings nd impact nd couldn't SHOOT LMAO. Stop the hate
Griffin nd Horford for his college career nd longevity in the league, stellar role player
@@Atlas365247 I know playoff rondo was the man & FYI I did not personally pick billiups to be Inducted into the HOF.... STILL HATEN
Ben Wallace was the best player on that team he was the best defender on a team that won because of defense.....
Vince Carter, Eight-time NBA All-Star, over 25,000 points in his career. The greatest dunker the game has ever seen. These dudes are bugging. Just talking…
Just like they would retire every nba player jersey😂
Some points in Chauncey's favor that aren't spoken about a lot:
1. I went to the FIBA World Cup in Istanbul back in 2010 and saw Chauncey orchestrate the offense as the starting PG, leading Team USA to the gold medal. 🥇
2. He was part of Team USA that won the 2007 FIBA Americas Championship which set the stage for the Redeem Team to compete and win gold in the Beijing Olympics the following summer.
3. He led the Pistons to back to back NBA Finals appearances, only to lose in '05 to the Spurs because Larry Brown was too distracted during the series. (Brown was occupied with his move to the Knicks the following season).
4. When he arrived in Denver, he took them straight to the Western Conference Finals and gave the Lakers a run for their money with a tough 6 game series. For comparison, Iverson could only take them to two first round exits. During that 16-game postseason, Billups averaged 20.6 pts, 6,8 ass and 1,3 st. He shot 45,7% from the floor, 46,8% from 3 and 90,6% from the free throw line.
18:54 Why is it so unreasonable to use Chauncey's Finals MVP as an argument for his HOF-selection? The only Finals MVPs who aren't in the HOF are Maxwell and Iguodala (and the latter could still make it one day). ALL THE OTHERS ARE IN THE HOF❗So this plays in Chauncey's favor tremendously.
CONCLUSION: Chauncey Billups is deserving to be in The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
Yea I can't go for Chauncey
He won the championship with the Pistons in 04 tho
@@pinbarbecue1100 The issue I have he was never a clear top 5 guy at his position or accumulated stats. VC i get for longevity but maybe a 3rd or 4th ballot guy.
@jakemiller270 he HAD to be a top 5 pg at some point for him to be a multiple All Star🤷🏿♂️
@@WhathehadasSole He played in the East which was the weaker conference. Chauncey's competition was Jason Kidd. The west had CP3, D Will, Nash, and Baron Davis.
How old are you? I actually watched basketball . What points was better then him . I’ll wait and I only need 3 from his prime.
If you induct Chauncey, rondo and iggy are hall of famers too
All those guys were good but I don't think they should be in the Hof. They don't stack up to names like Magic, Jordan, Shaq, Olajuwon, Bird, Duncan etc.
@@rooseveltdarbey9493 agreed
Rondo might actually make the hall. I can definitely see Iggy getting in as well. Not saying I agree with it, but I think they will.
As a Piston fan of 44 years (still) and someone who saw Chauncey hit near rock bottom when he came to Minnesota (prior to him joining the Pistons as a FA). I have no issues with him being in considering HE was the leader of that team that from 2002 -08 was always in the NBA conversation.
Here's the thing. Bernard King is in the Hall of Fame and his window was short although he was a stud at his position. He's less accomplished than Chauncey. BTW, I've been to football (Canton), Basketball (Springfield MA), Boxing, Swimming and Bowling HOFs. The Basketball one is by far the WORSE exhibit wise and the criteria is all over the place.
Just wanted to say that. I see it now as "how impactful were you in the era you played within". Thats pretty much all you can do now. Frankly I don't think it should be YEARLY in ANY sport. Thats where you'd limit all the "good to very good" entries within the various HOFs. It should be IMO strictly GREATS
Is Chauncey a GREAT? No, but he was arguably one of the best, most effective, clutch PGs of his era. When you factor how he flamed out in Boston, Toronto and Denver (1st tenure) prior. IT's incredible the leap he made.
Rob Parker for some reason has turned into a Detroit "hater" of sorts I don't know. California seems to turn people out but it's funny how Rob made his CAREER in Detroit and how he has these shots now that he's away. He of all people should understand the "Detroit vs Everybody" mentality but I get it.
When Robert Horry is subject to come up I'd bet Rob would be all for it lol. (Joke).
Congrats to MR BIG SHOT & Vinsanity
Chauncey is a better playoff performer than Vince and Tmac
The HOF is simply letting in too many "good" players.
It should be for all time greats. And no Chancey and Vince aren't all time greats.
This isn’t the NBA Hall of Fame. It’s the Basketball Hall of Fame, which is for all levels of basketball.
Bullshit. You obviously didn't watch Chauncy play.
@@Str8Maddeness
Been watching the nba since 1982.
Saw all of his career.
Chancey was a damn solid player...but he absolutely isn't an all time great. Which the HOF should only be for.
@@Str8MaddenessChauncey was never a top 3 PG at any point in his career. Dwill, CP3, Nash, Kidd, and Baron Davis were better at various points.
@@Str8Maddenessif you’re creating you own team for a game for your life, most people are not picking chuancy billups as their point guard. He was a good solid pg for that piston team but to put him the ALL TIME great convo? Nah
People only now calling it weak because Chauncey got in c'mon now why so much hate for Chauncey but none for Yao Ming, T Mac, C Webb, Christian Laetner etc...this is ridiculous Chauncey has a better resume that Reggie Miller who played way more years than Chauncey, and no one argues about Reggie making the hall of fame so why argue against Chauncey?
Just hating
Agree with Rob
Vince yes… billups no
It isn’t debatable, if t-Mac made it, Vince is a shoe in. Imo, the hall of fame should be 50 players max and to get in someone has to be taken out. Moved to a legacy position, not totally stripped
That’s absurd - greatness does not have a shelf-life.
Tmac was so much better than Vince overall.
You think people should be inducted into the HOF and then taken out of the HOF when the Stephs and Durants and Lukas get inducted? That’s ridiculous.
You have cte
@@synapse913 it’s not a shelf life, u were already low. For example a Jordan wouldn’t be 50 or a dr j. A “Ben Wallace” would be 50. So if lebron gets in, “Ben Wallace” would get moved to the legacy section
ROB IS RIGHT. Hall of fame means the story of the game/league can’t be told without you. Not debatable, he’s absolutely right and this is someone who constantly roasts him
Vince should be in on the strength he's the greatest dunker of all time. Hear me out - Vince Carters name will ring forever for what he did as a dunker. And I believe he's top 5 in 3 pointers Chris said the word Vince was iconic
Draymon Green going in the HOF so you may as well put anyone in there at this point
Got d@mn Chris,! let Rob get his stuff off/talk💯
Billups got good because of Larry Brown. Before that he wasn't that dude. Vince is number 21 all time in points. That and being considered the best dunker all time should be enough.
You can make that argument for a lot of coach/player relationships.
Isaiah Thomas is the only pistons point guard that should be in the HOF.
You never saw Dave Bing. Joe Dumars is deserving as well.
Chauncey is an advanced metrics god. Once you recognize his actual impact on the court he's an easy in.
VINCE CARTER IS UNQUESTIONABLY A HALL OF FAMER ..
To say Vince Carter is "somewhat iconic" is disrespectful. This man literally put Canada on the map when he played for the raptors. And he wasn't just a dunker. Vince was one of the most skilled ball players in NBA history.
