I didn't realize there were other type of wolfhounds, but you're right. I looked it up and there are 4. Bankhar dog, borzoi, Irish wolfhound and Saarloos wolfdog. Thanks for making me curious, I learned something new. 😁
Yeah 😍 stunning. Met one in Kilkenny in 2006. I was flashed. Met the second une in Modena (north Italy) where I live: 8 month, named Ubbe (Ragnar son) already bigger than my 3 years old Bernese mountain dog. Having one of those, my biggest dream ❤
I live in Ireland and I grew up very close to a castle that is now a restaurant, hotel and golf course (it's called Cabra Castle in Co. Cavan, Ireland) and they had two Wolfhounds. They were gorgeous, kind and absolutely loved all children. They used to sit either side of the door (large, arched oak doors) and then pad into the foyer and sleep in front of the huge fire place. They were so calm and were known to stop toddlers wander off (if parents were less than attentive for a second, which happens) and follow certain people they loved around the golf course as they played their rounds. Beautiful animals
@@karenk2409 exactly. The castle has had wolfhounds for generations. The area was forest (like all of Ireland was of course) and kings always had wolfhounds and the owners of Cabra castle through the ages have had them so the hotel owners are no different. Purebred and stunning, I used to love when my parents had business down there and I got to come along or when we went to the restaurant or a wedding there

I had Scottish deerhounds for many years at one point I 3 deerhounds and 3 lurchers all at the same time time. Two of my Deerhounds reached 14 years before I called my vet out for the last rites the other two reached 12 and 13 The lurches on the other hand went at 16,17 and 18 wolfhounds though beautiful have tragically short lives ,most are gone by 6 ,usually due to heart problems ,or being unable to stand. Aw, he’s gorgeous. You should see my Lab looking at me at the sound you’re making to this beautiful wolfhound. I wish you could meet my golden Lab Sonny. I just got him you’re wonderful. I love watching all your videos. You’re so good with the dogs.
I love an Irish wolfhound, they are the most chill, laid back dog ever… they are like the epitome of coolness 😎 if I had a big backyard, that would be the doggo I would get. ❤️❤️
My mom introduced me to a coworker that has Four of these amazing dogs. The biggest one is a male that can almost look me in the eyes dead on, while standing on all fours, and I’m 5”4. But they’re all super gentle and affectionate. Incredible animals.
Love the gentle and friendly gaze, the calm demeanor, and the head tilt.😂😊 One of the dogs we used to own was a wild and crazy rottie mix. She was a nice dog, but I have always wished that she was a calm dog. We did have a border collie/lab mix who was pretty chill most of the time, though. I think he was our favorite of all the dogs that we had. I think he was also our smartest dog, except when it came to skunks.😂 Miss all of you fur balls, but especially you Max! 😟 Due to health issues I can no longer handle taking care of a pet, so I have to make do with my memories and online videos. 😟

Irish wolfhound that probably brought in by the vikings

That head tilt though 😂😂😂
MUST be part shep!
I’ll be honest, I teared up when he tilted his head. I can barely handle it when dogs do that lol I really love dogs
That looks like a Deerhound not a Wolfhound. He is too tall to be a Woldhound.

Seems like I fantastic dream to me 😮
They're guardian dogs, like Anatolian shepherds. They'll gently bring the children back.

I read a Morgan llweyn fantasy book that had Irish wolfhounds in them, when I saw one twenty years later I fell in love her name is Emma jean
My favorite pictures are the ones with the owner in the background just appreciating their pup
Me too. I love seeing that 💙
Oooooh my gosh!!!! The way he turned his head was so freaking adorable!!! He's so captivating! ❤
In reaction to the "crying" noises the photographer made.
He certainly knows how to pose.
