I have the exact same watch (one of three Loriers) and I have no issues with the bracelet. It happens to be one of my favorites of my 150+ watch collection. I enjoyed hearing your perspectives.
Nice to see you checked out this fab watch from my local city (NYC) Tim. I placed an order literally the week they launched it and it still has lots of wrist time. A versatile piece and it successfully rocks the vintage vibe. Mine is the black gilt version.
Lorier is a one-of-a-kind brand. Thanks Tim for your truth and honesty and let me not forget realness in this watch world. Stay true to yourself and enjoy your weekend.
@@CasebackWatches Dear Tim, I know that you will never be able to get one in your lightbox, but: How about doing a show on the watches of 'George Daniels' and his protege, 'Roger Smith', the best watchmakers of the last 100 years. Surely this would inspire true enthusiasts. Btw. Daniels invented the Omega Co-axial movement, which he designed, and made every piece by hand. Omega started using it when the patent ran out. This is the best horological story since 'John Harrison'. Daniels only made 30+ watches in his lifetime (about one a year). Smith makes about 10 a year.
I have the version two which I adore. I bought it used, so never got to experience the unboxing experience. Didn't know they included that strap with the bracelet! Loved the review, keep it up! Unfortunately your video didn't show up in my sub feed. Luckily came across it despite being subscribed
👍 2 Lorier, Tim! Well done, ménage-a-homage: Rolex 6538 Sub with no-date / gilt dial and hands; vintage Seamaster sword hands and thin bezel; ubiquitous Seiko squared-links in a jingly-jangly bracelet.
@@shaharyarsheikh5291 Exactly! I forgot to also give some love to the Miyota 9000-series in the Neptune 3. Love the wobble - love the accuracy. I have a 9015 in a bespoke Tiger Concept from Hong Kong - best movement on Earth for the money.
Got a black and gilt version, agree that bracelet doesn’t quite work (which isn’t a view shared by a lot of reviewers) and it works much better on leather as a sort of smart casual watch
Nice watch. More watches should fit acrylic, if you aren't fitting sapphire it looks much better than mineral glass and pretty easy to keep looking good.
I love that blue, i would love to see it next to your Oris diver. Speaking of sapphire that looks like plexi, new James Bond Seamaster has crazy AR. I newer saw this in life before. Really interesting
That fine 'wine' coloured cordovin would make a superb leather-fronted (satin-backed) waistcoat for wearing under a plain black suit on more formal occasions.
As always Tim, your videos are a pleasure. Many thanks. I've seen one Neptune in the flesh, on a deep blue stingray strap. It was discrete, but very attractive. Wear it in good health.
I reckon there's plenty of great things about this watch, but I cannot time my eggs with that bezel. And I'd most likely scratch that lovely acrylic in a matter of hours, as I usually do, so no. Thank you for the video!
Nice review Tim of a very good watch! I’ve got the exact same model you have & yes it just looks so good. I’m more fine with the bracelet. Still it does look good on the leather.😎👍🏻
That stretchy strap is a French Marine Nationale or Parachute strap. They were originally crafted from - parachute parts. Quite trendy now. I‘d post a useful link but don’t want it to get blocked.
A really very good looking watch and the plexiglass looks good. Very good timekeeping too. My only criticism is that more serious divers like myself would stay away from watches without the standard minute markers to 20 minutes on the bezel, if they are going on a deeper dive, but markers would probably take away from the design aesthetic of this piece which does make it a fashion diver to some extent, and there's nothing wrong with that as many don't buy dive watches to dive anyway. I'd definitely buy it as a casual piece myself, it's very refined and looks more expensive than it is.
@@CasebackWatches Oh wow, thank you! Do you make those straps yourself? I love supporting small businesses. I just joined your channel, and I am trying learn more about leather goods (especially watch straps). I appreciate you!
@@TheDanibus I make leather goods myself, but not straps. Too small ;-) My straps therefore come from a small manufacturer in Germany. Handmade, top-notch quality.
That Lorier looks great on your strap, looking forward to an 18mm version ....and hahaha, couldn't resist to tease you over the Oris. Glenn said you'd go running straight to your watch box to check it's still there ....you are sure you still have it, right 😏?
I bought that ages ago straight from the rack. Brand is H.I.S. I'm not even sure, if it is actually a common brand or something generic. But it looks good and the fit is close to perfection.
Nice watch apart from the hour hand. I dislike all arrow hands (apart from unobtrusive second hands) which is too bad because some otherwise good looking watches like the Aqua Terra are off the table for me.
I’ve owned both and in my opinion the finishing and the plexi were better on the Lorier but everything else was better about the Baltic, especially the bracelet. It’s one of the most comfortable bracelets I’ve ever worn.
I find that the end links don't suit the lugs because they seem to be more rounded and they don't line up with the lugs. It kind of ruins the sharp look of the case and the rest of the bracelet.
Thought it looked too flat, dish plate affect on your wrist. I bought a Neptune, found it fitting like a flat frying pan on my wrist, large crown gouged hand, case symmetry/lugs design flaws, dots overfilled, glare/distortion. IMO
Nice watch, BUT: most microbrands are way overpriced. Consider; most case machining is outsourced cnc, movements off the shelf etc, ditto main strap components. Ref Casio Duro.
I think you are being a bit harsh, this watch is very nicely made & better than you would get from a mainstream brand for this price. As for a off the shelf movement, you can't really expect a decent mechanical in house movement for this price!
So the ever present controversial question.... will you wear it with a suit Tim😜... I think you can btw imo its the overall look rather than the presence of a bezel...
@@CasebackWatches Thats two infractions.... you are sentenced to only looking at richardmille monstrosities when you want to peruse watch designs for three to five days😂😂😂😂😂

The acrylic crystal is a nice reminder that we need not always default to sapphire.

The elastic strap is adjustable, you just have to slide up and down the adjustment buckle depending on your wrist.
I was always tempted to get a Lorrier, they are such good looking watches! Gotta say Tim, you never showed me a watch I have not liked 😄

I'd say the case design and bracelet also come from omega. The 57 seamaster 300 specifically.

I'm glad to see when the designers homaged the menage, they left out the date and the cyclops carbuncle.
