Ultra Exploit: Shamn, Totemic Might, 2x Flametongue Totem, Stalagg & Feugen. Wait until you have a Healing Totem, then place your Flametonge Totems like this: Flametongue, Flametongue, Healing Totem. Why does this work, you ask? The Flametongue's keep buffing themselves, so when he uses Polarity Swap, they first turn into 3-2's, +2 attack from the other flametongue totem. When he flips again, they turn into 5-2's, +2 damage from the Flametongue effect again. The Healing Totem gets 2 attack from this process aswell, meaning that you have a wombo-combo on the field right from the getgo. Feugen/Stalagg is in for the chance to get Thaddius for yourself. And otherwise, the Flametongue's will just keep turning them into bigger and bigger minions. >:3 All you need to do is boardclear with spells if possible, and dodge Lightning Storm for the first couple of turns after Totems are played, and you win. :3
Rogue has quite nice options to deal with H Thaddius. -patien assassin (though it's epic card) -nerub eggs ofc -backstab - evis combo -sap (since they cost 5 to play again, gives you time) Also your 4mana 5/5 nerub thingie works well against their nerub eggs
For Grobbulus (heroic) I used a Priest as well, but instead of buffing a Deathlord, I used that 1/4 for 3 mana that heals himself at the beginning of your each turn (forgot the name), and gave it taunt. It was pretty easy since no matter how many creatures he sacrificed into it, at the beginning of my turns it would be full health again.
I actually managed to kill heroic Thaddius on my first try. I tried it with my regular Zoo deck, got lucky in the beginning, cleared his Stal&Feug quickly and won with 6 hp left, I was so happy because I was only testing his plays, I never expected to win that one :D Grobbulus, on the other hand, was a pain in the ass. Tried with Priest and Mage with no luck, in the end I finally killed him with Warrior.
Anyone struggling with Grobbulus just use Stoneskin Gargoyle. It heals itself up every turn back to full health. Power word shield or divivine spirit and you have 1/8 autohealer. Inner circle turns that to 8/8. You can also use druid Innervate to play the Gargoyle on turn 1 and give it +2/2 Taunt or +0/4 taunt and game is over.
Until he plays Echoing Ooze with double Mutating Injection followed by another Ooze and Injection the next turn when I haven't seen a single Naturalize in the first half of my deck...many 3/10, 5/12, 5/8 etc. gargoyles died before I beat Grobbulus.
Trump Arena challenge! Before you start an Arena, you have to choose: "Left", "Middle" or "Right" Then you can only take the Hero and the Cards in the place what you have chosen. For example if you choose "Right" you can only take the Hero who is right and you can only take the cards that are right. :D If you have 3 wins, you win the challenge. I don't know about anyone else, but I went into heroic Thaddius with a Druid, running naturalize, bite, swipe, poison seeds, big game hunters... a whole bunch of cards to deal 4 damage or just outright kill. It took out Stalagg & Feugen rather quickly and efficiently!
Not even considering how good gargoyle is for grobbulus with divine spiritx2, sunfury protector, *EDIT: +inner fire*? Even though it heals itself every turn and he has no hard removal?
Spellbender might be AMAZING if you manage to steal Grobbulus' "mutating injection". But then again... what other cards that a mage can have would be good against Grobbulus? ...
But, if you were to enrage it beforehand, its new health would be 5. At which point, you can enrage it again to get its attack up again. Then rinse and repeat, and you've got an infinite health/attack minion. Same works for all constant buffs. Murlocs, Enrages, etc.
One question: With all these new death rattle effects and card abilities, shouldn't the meta shift toward a priest style deck? (Mass Dispel, 0 mana silence, Cabal Shadow priest etc.) I mean, I would imagine that priest cards counter a lot of problems concerning anti-AoE and death rattle cards.
Grobbulus took me so many tries to beat. I finally did it by getting Thaddius and Rag on the board. Thaddius and Glueth I beat on the first try each with regular decks. :p I got really lucky draws. Charge weapon warrior beat Glueth really fast and he didn't play Jaws till turn 5 after I already cleared everything and for Thaddius I started with Death, Circle and soul priest in my opening hand... Probably RNG karma from the other bosses I fought.
7:04, wouldn't running the lightspawn into the 3/5, then shadowmadnessing the 3/1 into the 4/2 for 1 draw and a 1/2 taunt be the correct play? Then, divine spirit it so it survives. With Dark Cultist, Temple Enforcer, and Inner Fire in hand, that 1/4 could go a long way.

This turn I'd prefer Heal+Trade (opponent has 5/6 and 2/2 on his turn), Northshire+Heal+Trade (draws another card, probably keeps a card draw engine), Northshire+Holy Nova+Trade (the 2 damage on the remaining slime could be relevant for Shadow Madness later, if that's a better play than getting a 10/10), or Trade+Holy Nova (prevents slime).
Best way to kill Thaddius fast: Zoolock. Turn 2 Nerubian Egg and Soulfire, kills the 4 health of the two, then the other one becomes 4 health next turn and you get a 4/4 to deal with it. Win.
Nope, the deathrattle would go off when his dies first and not summon a Thaddius, but then later, when your Feugen/Stalagg dies, the deathrattle would go off and successfully summon a Thaddius.
Sladepheonix I believe that developers answered that question when this card was announced... They said - "both of players gets thaddius". Fact of death isn't part of deathrattle, therefore even silenced minion still can help summon thaddius, order of deathrattles also doesn't matter
Thaddius is fairly easy with a paladin. You need Equality for round 2 and an Unstable Ghoul for round 3. You only take 3 damage before Feugen and Stalag both die. After killing all of the Zombie Chow and dropping a couple of Guardians, I finished him off with 27 health and a Divine Light in hand. Gurubashi Berserkers are also great for that fight, because every time they take damage their attack increases, which means that their health increases on the subsequent turn and they just keep getting stronger as the fight progresses.
What about Doomsayer? Divine Spirit and he will most likely live. Also you will kill both Stal and Feug. Then shadow word death for other things can be saved.
I havent even beaten the first wing on normal, just no use cause it takes me around a month or longer to get the Gold for another Wing so i dont even start.
Sylvester Holmes for Zoo decks with a knife jugler theyre great cards, but im currently playing Trumps f2p Shaman (which doesnt get me that far atm because of a shitload of Zoo+Ragnaros/Ysera -_-).Im also pretty unlucky with drawing luck so nerubian egg as a Card that cant activate itself isnt great for me.
Merlinose wow, it's been more than 3 months since I saw a Ysera being played. And don't blame everything on your opponents and the draw, sounds like you're pretty new to the game! Keep playing, get those naxx cards and improve your decks/skill ;)
It's a shame Feugan and Stalagg are the only real difficulty of H Thaddius. They dominate the match so much that the polarity shift effect becomes mostly irrelevant in comparison. Which means that the true coolness of it, using auras to get your guys auto-buffed every turn, is irrelevant due to the whole game hinging on whether you can remove the big dudes on turn 3. It would've been nice if F&S weren't quite so threatening, but Thaddius's card quality was unusually high, forcing you to make use of aura cards to keep on top instead of just falling back to "phew, big guys are gone, I can just do my usual thing now and still win."
Could someone tell me when will they shut down the Naxxramas adventure? I dont think that i would be able to open it all if after fifth week they shut it down...
since the "2 cards of the same kind" rule doesnt apply to them it makes some kind of sense. Sometimes it feels like they draw exactly the card they need wich bothers me even more but whatever, as long as they loose im fine with this shit..
Tenebris Fractum Heroic doesn't even try to be fair, we all need to remember this. The game even tells you that Heroic isn't fair. Which honestly I kind of like, it's fun to see just how bullshit the bosses get.
Yea, it doesn't pretend it is at any point. Hell, Grobby isn't even the worst.....seriously I still hate Gothik and Loatheb, took me ages to beat them lol. (Loatheb is bullshit enough without his uncanny ability to topdeck poison seeds the exact turn he needs it XD.)
GorillaBorg Unfair is great, but I think abilitys and openings would be enough. Making the AI do whatever the hell it wants seems to cut the fun. Its good when its hard to beat but not totally random..
Can someone give me some advice? I have been watching this game a lot and recently started to play. I don't have money to use on it so I'm playing low budget. I use a hunter beast rush deck and it works quite well. I have also used mage, rogue and warlock up to level 10+ Is there anything i should be recommended to do? right now I'm saving the gold for naxxramas because I missed the beginning. I have little expert cards and so on. Is there a class that is just better than the rest or no? Thanks :)
Only advice i can gief is watch alot of videos from different good players like trump amaz etc ..to build a good deck depends on a lot of things ...personally i dont copy decks because i dont have 2 of all so focus on playing a few games a day earn gold do naxx . I learned a lot from playing the naxx bosses.not just strategy but building decks 2 hfgl
Because that would have reduced the damage as it takes current health not max health. Even if he played the turn differently the max health for the deathlord was 14.
hi i just started playing this game and i always get the enemy to around 10 hp while i have like 25+ but i get in the same situation every time. I have no cards and can only use the card i get at the start of the turn while my enemy has 2/3/4/5 cards and can kill my minions i played the turn before and use the rest for my hero so i lose. what do i wrong do you have some tips?
There could be 2 main points why thi is happening to you. 1: You are "overextending" your board when an AOE spell is incoming. Like, you are on turn 6 and the enemy has 7 mana next turn as a mage, if you have the board control then you just shouldnt play anymore cards into his flamestrike (Deal 4 Damage to all enemy minions) 2: Your deck lacks card draw. Maybe you should consider running cards like Gnomish inventor and other cards that let you draw more cards. It´s also possible that you are wasting cards.. like using claw as a druid turn 1 to hit the enemy for 2 face dmg or the mage card for 1 mana that randomly hits 3 enemy targets. Also important is that you should not run too much cards with low mana, if you cannot keep up with your enemies strong minions e.g. if you can´t kill an boulderfist ogre on turn 6 or 7 you should consider using more lategame cards a good curve is the key to creating a good deck. Since you are so ahead of your enemy early i guess your enemies run high mana cards mostly and wreck you in the lategame and you are using too much low cost cards so can´t finish him and just take him low.
Eh... He brought it upon himself by not healing himself. What were the chances that extra 2 health on the minion would affect the game? There were higher chances healing himself would have won the game.
Meh I stopped caring about beating the heroics. They are not fun, they are just hard for hard's sake. It's all about just getting the perfect draws and slamming your face against the wall till you do. If I'm not having fun playing a game, what's the point?
Its fun ( i think) once in awhile to get ur face pounded in repeatedly by an AI who usually never do in any games. Makes you go through a process of trying to make that one deck that will pulverize that smug piece of code. Then its more satisfying knowing you beat that AI with a deck you made. Just my two cents :P

It also doesn't matter if you have a deck that can kill them, you still continue to beat your head against the wall until you get the perfect draws in said deck. How many times did Trump fight Grobbulus with the deck he ended beating him with when he got the perfect draws?
Zer0Hour17 So you're saying if you get stuck on a boss in a video game you just give up? People play the hard mode for the challenge and the sense of reward for beating the hard mode. Hell you even get a cool card back for beating all the Heroics.
Is it just me or are Stal&Feug kinda unfair? Bear with me for a second. Feugen has one of the best mana/stats distributions in the game, and Stalagg is very easy to kill. So say you use the first for board control, then you summon the one with high attack. Easy to kill, as I said...but the enemy doesn't WANT to kill it, because he's going to take even more damage the next turn (at the very least he'll let you kill it on your own terms). So you're stuck in a situation where if you don't have a silence/BGH (and the latter is utterly useless against 80% of current popular decks) you're basically going to lose if the enemy draws these two. And they don't really take any skill or planning to play like other "combos" they are literally luck of the draw...not really fun for the enemy, I feel.
I mean, what you're saying makes sense, but it's not like there's no way of dealing with Thaddius. A lot of decks run hard removal, and usually he'll get summoned mid to late game by which point people will have really strong minions.
Yes, but you can run either both or one of them after the opponent places one to have one of your own more easily. Or just silence the second one. But yea, they seem kinda unfair. You'd think they had stats a bit lower since they summon a fucking 11/11 or sth. Just wait until echoing ooze comes ^^
thenayxas That's part of the problem though, isn't it? You're kinda "forced" to run them to have a better chance of sniping the big guy, like Trump said in a previous video. They're going to be in pretty much every single deck except extreme rush, which will stifle deck innovation a lot (and make some other cool 5 drops from Naxx obsolete). That was the very problem old Nag Pagle/Tinkmaster had, wasn't it? They were globally available and amazing in almost any situation. Plus, silencing them gives you no immediate benefits (the combat stats stay the same and you have a garbage minion on the board).
***** Yea, I agree. This and Echoing Ooze seem the most ridiculous cards and they will probably used in most of matches - they are very strong and have no counters whatsoever. They have strong stats even when used alone, but have ridiculously good abilities as well. I'd think they will be nerfed, but who knows. Tho ideally, in matches where both players run both Feugen and Stallag, the first one to play one of them gets one Thaddius and the other one possibly gets two. So there will be some interesting mindgames going on. Maybe this was thought to be the balancing reason. Either way, they are too strong.
thenayxas True, but having the entire game revolving around two cards is not really a nice thing when you have SO many new tactics you can try, in my opinion. I mean, what can you do if the enemy has a 7/4 on the board that you cannot kill? You either waste both a silence AND removal or just let it hit you (if you taunt up the enemy can run it into them and kill it).
The heroic hero abilities and whatnot are so fucking infair... Its literally nerve-racking to watch this T_T... I dont even want to try the heroic mode myself...

Vs Thaddius I found that Lightwardens were amazing. Since they keep buffing damage and Thadd swaps the hp/attack they end up buffing the hp as well.

you should throw a mass dispell in your anti heroic deck since mostly youre coming across card text thats vexing you
warlock is pretty good for the last boss, made it on the second try. Maybe i was lucky but guldan is pretty fun for that boss :)
Wouldn't raid leaders and direwolves work well against thaddius, since they give essentially +1 health each turn?
Thinking Mage and Shaman are the best against Thaddius. May need something to buff the totems attack though.

Nope, the deathrattle would go off when his dies first and not summon a Thaddius, but then later, when your Feugen/Stalagg dies, the deathrattle would go off and successfully summon a Thaddius.

I believe that developers answered that question when this card was announced... They said - "both of players gets thaddius". Fact of death isn't part of deathrattle, therefore even silenced minion still can help summon thaddius, order of deathrattles also doesn't matter
His Stalagg and Feugen didn't have deathrattles which is why he didn't get a Thaddius~
if you are talking about thaddius fuegen and stalaag they dont have text so they dont count in your F&S deathrattles
I liked this week heroic alot better cause you can actually counter them with cards. Last was just horrendous grinding for luck :P
Thaddius is fairly easy with a paladin. You need Equality for round 2 and an Unstable Ghoul for round 3. You only take 3 damage before Feugen and Stalag both die. After killing all of the Zombie Chow and dropping a couple of Guardians, I finished him off with 27 health and a Divine Light in hand. Gurubashi Berserkers are also great for that fight, because every time they take damage their attack increases, which means that their health increases on the subsequent turn and they just keep getting stronger as the fight progresses.
What about Doomsayer? Divine Spirit and he will most likely live. Also you will kill both Stal and Feug. Then shadow word death for other things can be saved.

Sylvester Holmes for Zoo decks with a knife jugler theyre great cards, but im currently playing Trumps f2p Shaman (which doesnt get me that far atm because of a shitload of Zoo+Ragnaros/Ysera -_-).Im also pretty unlucky with drawing luck so nerubian egg as a Card that cant activate itself isnt great for me.
Merlinose wow, it's been more than 3 months since I saw a Ysera being played. And don't blame everything on your opponents and the draw, sounds like you're pretty new to the game! Keep playing, get those naxx cards and improve your decks/skill ;)

It's a shame Feugan and Stalagg are the only real difficulty of H Thaddius. They dominate the match so much that the polarity shift effect becomes mostly irrelevant in comparison. Which means that the true coolness of it, using auras to get your guys auto-buffed every turn, is irrelevant due to the whole game hinging on whether you can remove the big dudes on turn 3. It would've been nice if F&S weren't quite so threatening, but Thaddius's card quality was unusually high, forcing you to make use of aura cards to keep on top instead of just falling back to "phew, big guys are gone, I can just do my usual thing now and still win."

since the "2 cards of the same kind" rule doesnt apply to them it makes some kind of sense. Sometimes it feels like they draw exactly the card they need wich bothers me even more but whatever, as long as they loose im fine with this shit..

Heroic doesn't even try to be fair, we all need to remember this. The game even tells you that Heroic isn't fair. Which honestly I kind of like, it's fun to see just how bullshit the bosses get.
Yea, it doesn't pretend it is at any point. Hell, Grobby isn't even the worst.....seriously I still hate Gothik and Loatheb, took me ages to beat them lol. (Loatheb is bullshit enough without his uncanny ability to topdeck poison seeds the exact turn he needs it XD.)
GorillaBorg Unfair is great, but I think abilitys and openings would be enough. Making the AI do whatever the hell it wants seems to cut the fun. Its good when its hard to beat but not totally random..
Can someone give me some advice? I have been watching this game a lot and recently started to play. I don't have money to use on it so I'm playing low budget. I use a hunter beast rush deck and it works quite well. I have also used mage, rogue and warlock up to level 10+ Is there anything i should be recommended to do? right now I'm saving the gold for naxxramas because I missed the beginning. I have little expert cards and so on. Is there a class that is just better than the rest or no? Thanks :)
Only advice i can gief is watch alot of videos from different good players like trump amaz etc ..to build a good deck depends on a lot of things ...personally i dont copy decks because i dont have 2 of all so focus on playing a few games a day earn gold do naxx . I learned a lot from playing the naxx bosses.not just strategy but building decks 2 hfgl

Because that would have reduced the damage as it takes current health not max health. Even if he played the turn differently the max health for the deathlord was 14.

hi i just started playing this game and i always get the enemy to around 10 hp while i have like 25+ but i get in the same situation every time. I have no cards and can only use the card i get at the start of the turn while my enemy has 2/3/4/5 cards and can kill my minions i played the turn before and use the rest for my hero so i lose. what do i wrong do you have some tips?
There could be 2 main points why thi is happening to you.
1: You are "overextending" your board when an AOE spell is incoming. Like, you are on turn 6 and the enemy has 7 mana next turn as a mage, if you have the board control then you just shouldnt play anymore cards into his flamestrike (Deal 4 Damage to all enemy minions)
2: Your deck lacks card draw. Maybe you should consider running cards like Gnomish inventor and other cards that let you draw more cards.
It´s also possible that you are wasting cards.. like using claw as a druid turn 1 to hit the enemy for 2 face dmg or the mage card for 1 mana that randomly hits 3 enemy targets.
Also important is that you should not run too much cards with low mana, if you cannot keep up with your enemies strong minions e.g. if you can´t kill an boulderfist ogre on turn 6 or 7 you should consider using more lategame cards a good curve is the key to creating a good deck.
Since you are so ahead of your enemy early i guess your enemies run high mana cards mostly and wreck you in the lategame and you are using too much low cost cards so can´t finish him and just take him low.

Should have traded the 6/2 (which was bound to die anyway) into the 4/4 so his deathlord survived, he still had lethal that way

Meh I stopped caring about beating the heroics. They are not fun, they are just hard for hard's sake. It's all about just getting the perfect draws and slamming your face against the wall till you do. If I'm not having fun playing a game, what's the point?
Its fun ( i think) once in awhile to get ur face pounded in repeatedly by an AI who usually never do in any games. Makes you go through a process of trying to make that one deck that will pulverize that smug piece of code. Then its more satisfying knowing you beat that AI with a deck you made. Just my two cents :P

but it's not fun when the AI literally has to cheat to be competitive. It also doesn't matter if you have a deck that can kill them, you still continue to beat your head against the wall until you get the perfect draws in said deck.

Zer0Hour17 So you're saying if you get stuck on a boss in a video game you just give up? People play the hard mode for the challenge and the sense of reward for beating the hard mode. Hell you even get a cool card back for beating all the Heroics.
The point is that you get a cardback once you beat all 15 Naxxramas heroic bosses.

Is it just me or are Stal&Feug kinda unfair? Bear with me for a second. Feugen has one of the best mana/stats distributions in the game, and Stalagg is very easy to kill. So say you use the first for board control, then you summon the one with high attack. Easy to kill, as I said...but the enemy doesn't WANT to kill it, because he's going to take even more damage the next turn (at the very least he'll let you kill it on your own terms).
So you're stuck in a situation where if you don't have a silence/BGH (and the latter is utterly useless against 80% of current popular decks) you're basically going to lose if the enemy draws these two. And they don't really take any skill or planning to play like other "combos" they are literally luck of the draw...not really fun for the enemy, I feel.
I mean, what you're saying makes sense, but it's not like there's no way of dealing with Thaddius. A lot of decks run hard removal, and usually he'll get summoned mid to late game by which point people will have really strong minions.
Yes, but you can run either both or one of them after the opponent places one to have one of your own more easily. Or just silence the second one. But yea, they seem kinda unfair. You'd think they had stats a bit lower since they summon a fucking 11/11 or sth.

thenayxas That's part of the problem though, isn't it? You're kinda "forced" to run them to have a better chance of sniping the big guy, like Trump said in a previous video. They're going to be in pretty much every single deck except extreme rush, which will stifle deck innovation a lot (and make some other cool 5 drops from Naxx obsolete). That was the very problem old Nag Pagle/Tinkmaster had, wasn't it? They were globally available and amazing in almost any situation.
Plus, silencing them gives you no immediate benefits (the combat stats stay the same and you have a garbage minion on the board).

Yea, I agree. This and Echoing Ooze seem the most ridiculous cards and they will probably used in most of matches - they are very strong and have no counters whatsoever. They have strong stats even when used alone, but have ridiculously good abilities as well. I'd think they will be nerfed, but who knows.
Tho ideally, in matches where both players run both Feugen and Stallag, the first one to play one of them gets one Thaddius and the other one possibly gets two. So there will be some interesting mindgames going on. Maybe this was thought to be the balancing reason. Either way, they are too strong.
thenayxas True, but having the entire game revolving around two cards is not really a nice thing when you have SO many new tactics you can try, in my opinion. I mean, what can you do if the enemy has a 7/4 on the board that you cannot kill? You either waste both a silence AND removal or just let it hit you (if you taunt up the enemy can run it into them and kill it).
