Congrats on the Ferrari press car! That's a huge accomplishment! I hope they send you every new model going forward. Looking forward to more Ferrari reviews hopefully in the future.
What an excellent review. It gives a far better impression of what Matts experience was driving the Cali T than you get with other reviews. Gonna watch it again now !
The Ferrari in this video looks pretty awesome, but I have to say that the real star of the video is that road. Looks like a really pretty place to be.
Excellent video Matt. I usually do not comment, but I thought it would be nice to give some feedback. Your 'commentary' (don't know how you'd like to call it) was good, not too much and not too little of talking, the ride length was good, video quality was good and audio was on point, even at the higher velocities. Can't tell if that is because of the aerodynamics of the car or because of a proper audio setup. If the latter, good job (team).
he complained about the price of California in the USA, in Brazil this car costs an average of $ 500,000, and is still selling very a 488 GTB is at around $ 800,000, and is already selling well, very good video
+Matt Farrah +SmokingTire thanks for giving an honest review on the 2015 California T, I know you & Chris Harris were not particularly fond of the 09-14 model, especially with the issues for a +200K car. I'm thinking it would be so cool to own one, I was lucky to be able to test drive a 2012 at a dealership, what a thrill, now I know why people swear by Ferrari's.
You can get a used MP4-12C for 140k, I have a tough time seeing why someone would drop that kind of cash on this car. Personally, I think that money would be better spent on a new BAC Mono that keeps up with a P1 stock
Great review. So your question was spot on back in 2015 - if there was a coupe version that shed the extra weight, might that not be the perfect car? Enter the Roma and I don't know if it is. It will be educational to see how well the Roma does for Ferrari. Clearly a roof down experience for many outweighs the extra weight and performance penalty and there is no denying Ferrari's California, California T and Portofino sales figures.
I really like the design, more than I thought I would. It reminds me of early 2000's when they still wanted to retain a lot of the styling of the 60's convertibles, only it feels like they did a better job this time around. It's just a bit more bulky and heavy than it needs to be in my opinion, and I agree on needing a fixed roof version, that would be fantastic. The last thing I noticed was the exhaust doesn't sound as "tuned" as Ferrari's other recent cars, I'm not sure why that is but I like it. Ferrari feels like it's been trying to keep a certain sound for a long time, by copying the last generation with each new one, ending up with this broken telephone "tuned" exhaust that just sounds muted and uninspired. I'd really like them to go back to the raw, tuned for performance sound they used to have.
Hey Matt I have a c5, exact same as yours with similar modifications. What performance tire would you recommend that won't break the bank? I want pilot sports but I don't track it enough to justify it. I'm coming from a set of nt555's up front and falken f1's (i think I can't remember exactly.) Rain and snow really isn't a concern. If you do end up replying it's much appreciated! The one takes have been fantastic lately.
I love the looks of this car. Especially in that color mmmmm. Better than a 488 or a laf imo. Love the sweeping lines, it's not the coolest car by any means but I think it's beautiful
I remember when any car cracking into 3.9 second 0-60 was considered "holy shit" fast. Nowadays even the "cruiser" Ferraris are deep into the 3's....progress ftw.
Non turbo Californias just dropped $30,000 in value.... Lol!! On a serious note, I got to drive one of these before the official introduction back on March 2015 and it is such a HUGE improvement!!!! Fast and tight!
+TheSmokingTire Awesome man, can't wait to see if it's as good as I think it'll be. If it is, I might just give up waiting on a brz sti and go buy one.
Different needs. I'm a multiple car kind of guy, with different stuff for different purposes. But if I wanted one dope car in LA for commuting and weekends, I'd be all over the Cali T
Previous version was butt ugly, so matter how good it was (or wasn't!) no one was ever going to love it. This though is a complete rip off of the F12 which is more than ok considering it's gorgeous, and vastly improved every where else. On that note a lightweight, fixed top version like you say would be amazing but I can't see them ever making it. The F12 is 160% of the price of this and when you're talking 6 figure cars that can't be much of an issue for the average buyer. I guess Ferrari could try and plug the gap between those cars with a Berlinetta version (they won't go lower, not interested) but this is the same company who cut down on production and upped the prices to increase profits. Great vid as always Matt.
Ferrari just seem to get everything right even if hey haven't done it before, I'm sure if the decided to make an suv or luxury saloon it would be great.
Matt mentions how he didn't like the 2010 California because it "wasn't very fast" among other complaints. However, he raves about the T being much faster having a 0-60 time of 3.3 seconds.....but the old California did it in 3.5 seconds. So what the hell is he on about?
Funny how he speaks of the turbos in this car as good, giving torque in town, but says the opposite with the 718 Caymans. These "reviewers" are never consistent.
"When you pull a paddle, it shifts YESTERDAY" HAHAHAHA Aw man. Matt Farrah reviewing a press ferrari is gold. Love this guy.
Not a bad day at the office for Matt
@D. R. Davis xd
Driving a Ferrari California for Ferrari in California.
Lol
Needs more log
agreed. 😂
+Shwa Andary needs more cowbell
All kids love log. Log, log, it's big it's heavy it's wood. Log, log It's better than bad, It's good!
+Bob Hope It's also extremely practical that it rolls down stairs.
+Chris Mathy LOG FROM BLAMMO
That is an amazing road. I'd probably die from getting distracted by the scenery while plunging around corners.
Perfect spec for that car love the colour
+Ian Townsend I thought the same, my dad has a cali T back and yellow and it is amazing, but this spec is beautiful
@@MrJuiceGaming ikr
@@MrJuiceGaming I'm looking get one, they're cheap
2 one takes in 1 day? FUCK YES.
Congrats on the Ferrari press car! That's a huge accomplishment! I hope they send you every new model going forward. Looking forward to more Ferrari reviews hopefully in the future.
Fuck off
+Joey Arthur Zooberry FUCK YOU... Matt is awesome.
+subaruwrxfan i'm your fan
+subaruwrxfan If im a fan of the WRX fan, what does that make me to the WRX?
Pizzaforlife Matt Farah? Yeah sure I agree
I noticed a lack of logs in this video haha! Don't worry, I know this was recorded before the Huracan One Take. Well, that's what I'm assuming.
WE ARE NOT WORTHY
What an excellent review. It gives a far better impression of what Matts experience was driving the Cali T than you get with other reviews. Gonna watch it again now !
Luv your channel. Being in the cockpit on "the one take" is the next best thing to actually driving one of these. Thanks!!!
The voice audio is superb in these last couple of videos!
The tile bathroom echo effect really just makes everything come together. ; )
The Ferrari in this video looks pretty awesome, but I have to say that the real star of the video is that road. Looks like a really pretty place to be.
Of all the guys doing these videos, I like this guy the most.
love the abandoned gas station at 2:16
Excellent video Matt. I usually do not comment, but I thought it would be nice to give some feedback.

4:54, wasn't this where that guy in the Explorer was hauling the log down the road and it ran over that road sign lol?
Lets be honest, Matt. Cars look sexier with more horsepower, without ever changing a line or visual part on the car. Great Video, much enjoyed.
a ferrari press car, i think it says you have the car manufacturer confidence now you should be proud, you make good video keep them up!
Would a Ferrari "California" with a fixed roof would be a Ferrari "Seattle"....?
some good honest driving there matt. good stuff
beautiful car everyday ferrari the new world of ferrari as usual great review
Nice to see Matt driving some local roads.
I agree with your views on what if they made a fixed top, 400 pounds lighter berlinetta variant of this, it would really be awesome!
You should do a one take out here in the Bay Area on the 9, lots of turn offs on really good windy roads towards big basin.
You can get a used MP4-12C for 140k, I have a tough time seeing why someone would drop that kind of cash on this car. Personally, I think that money would be better spent on a new BAC Mono that keeps up with a P1 stock
+Alex Johnson Because you don't buy a Ferrari to brag about what it can keep up with.
Lol right you buy a Ferrari to boost your own ego, who cares about performance?
Alex Johnson You buy a Ferrari because you want a quality product with good performance and unmatched levels of sophistication.
That $150k mclaren doesn't have a seven year unlimited mile warranty
+TheSmokingTire That is a big selling point. California T + warranty = weirdest autocross weapon ever
Awesome, looks like you've had a great time in a great car. Keep up the great work on the videos!

Liked the review....concur with the honest comments about the former California. Enjoyed the split screen. Where were you driving?
oh,boy-flash ahead 3-5 years and the 2017s are hitting used lots for almost half that price -amazing
Always wanted to try Spunky Canyon.
Who doesn’t :)
Man you're sooooo lucky driving all those cool and fun cars. Good for you. 😃
I really like the design, more than I thought I would. It reminds me of early 2000's when they still wanted to retain a lot of the styling of the 60's convertibles, only it feels like they did a better job this time around.

Sounds great and looks great in this color!
Completely off topic but those trees at 4:00 are the first trees I have ever seen in the "Angeles National Forest" ;)
man that road looks delicious.

back to back supercars? Matt's moving on up
Re: closing thoughts -
And presumably it has the best warranty deal (is it 7 years now) too out of those manufacturers.
Great road. Reminds me of Marin. Come up some time.
All i heard about the seats "I was up above it. Now i'm down in it. "
Very good catch on that reference
Cali T is a badass ride bro!
that was geat! I'd say you were close to a 15/20 there at around 10 mins. awesome
I prefer the Huracan you showed over this
Nik Brudar What does HP have to do with personal taste lol?!
+JediMindTricks183 It's two totally different type of cars, brah.
Awesome colour!
Spunky Cyn! One of my favorite roads because of the lack of cops and people.
great review man!
+TheSmokingTire can you try getting your hands on a 650S?
I love the looks of this car. Especially in that color mmmmm. Better than a 488 or a laf imo. Love the sweeping lines, it's not the coolest car by any means but I think it's beautiful
Awesome video and great review of the Ferrari California
I remember when any car cracking into 3.9 second 0-60 was considered "holy shit" fast. Nowadays even the "cruiser" Ferraris are deep into the 3's....progress ftw.
Two supercars in one day? I feel spoiled.
You sold me, I love it next to our FF :).
When you come down off compression? What does that mean?
you have a pretty good job matt
THAT CAR WEIGHS 4000 POUNDS?????
Non turbo Californias just dropped $30,000 in value.... Lol!! On a serious note, I got to drive one of these before the official introduction back on March 2015 and it is such a HUGE improvement!!!! Fast and tight!
Still hideous tho
+Bolek989 stfu
No you.
10:20 haha you laugh like a little child Matt! :D i don't blame you... GREAT REVIEW
Outstanding Performanhe. Hey theue, cobweb flap What's your opinion abozt it 11
That road is insane...
I loved that review!!! Could u try to find and review a 2014 Cadillac CTS V-Sport? Thanks!!
Use the channel search and you'll find the legendary TST 'Goodfellas' spoof. A very creative piece of work.
+NIAtoolkit One of my favorites!
I love this car and it seems to handle amazingly well too. However, 240k for a base Ferrari...the price i have to pay to get to the 488GTB.
Looks nicer than the original California IMO
What road is this? It looks excellent to drive on!
Good review
i rate this video spunk/10
Very sweet ride but to me at least I didn't hear any typical Ferrari sounds.
great one-take
Can you please do the newer SLK 55 (R172)?
Love your videos Matt. Do you know the difference between acoustic, sound and oral effects? ... was the one not what Bill & Monica tested? ;-)
Aural
Ehhh, silly me. I'm not native English speaking and that is a new word for me. Thanks for clarifying.
There is definitely a meth lab in that do called "town" Matt drives through lol
that engine bay looks pretty fuckin serious
More interesting then a porsche? Does that mean the turbo porsche would out drive it in every aspect but isn't exotic enough?
Thought you mentioned something about a crashed car in this episode in the most recent podcast. Or did I misinterpret that??
Holy shit never mind just watched it!
Nah it's a farce homie
Hey Matt, any word on when you'll pick up your Focus RS? Can't wait to see a review video on it.
They tell me February
+TheSmokingTire Awesome man, can't wait to see if it's as good as I think it'll be. If it is, I might just give up waiting on a brz sti and go buy one.
So will you drive the new Ferrari Portofino?????
plz do another e30
Honest question - why would they build it with a launch mode, but no track mode?
It's a touring car, not intended for track use
I need one
Don't let Shmee see that car he'll have a blue-gasm -_-
😂😂
Would you rather have this or a McLaren 12C Spider? They're around the same price.
Different needs. I'm a multiple car kind of guy, with different stuff for different purposes. But if I wanted one dope car in LA for commuting and weekends, I'd be all over the Cali T
A Lamborghini and Ferrari today, is this real life?
Hey Farah where are the Dillon Optics at?
Why does he short shift for the launches?
is this the same Ferrari T Motoman had?
4 thousand pounds!???
TheSmokingTire, do you have any trucks coming up?
People don't really send me trucks. I have a G63 AMG review next week
TheSmokingTire I guess it's hard to make a fast modified truck that's balanced.
That wheel design is pretty bad but great car other than that
+Carl Manney There are lots of options from the factory and obviously the aftermarket, personally I enjoy the separated 5 spoke.

Hey you should put a speedometer with your speed in one of the corners in your videos, I always wanna know how fast your going haha.
Yeah so would the cops. I'll pass.
Hehe yeah good call.. rock on brotha
Matt would you think a used 2010 California would be a good buy? A friend of a friend is looking to buy one.
No
A used f430 spider with a 6 speed gate is the
business.
+yams kebab Why would you even.... ask that.
+yams kebab hell no
Ferrari just seem to get everything right even if hey haven't done it before, I'm sure if the decided to make an suv or luxury saloon it would be great.
