I just bought a 2016 California T, got it this past Sunday...i have driven many cars in my life, and i have to say, as a cruiser the T is like driving in a dream. It is absolutely wonderful to drive. Great video.
The big difference is in the sound. The California has a MUCH better sound than the Cali T and one of the last naturally aspirated V8 vs the muted sound of the twin-turbo. And the sound is one of the most important features in the Ferrari ownership experience. So...
Thanks mate! A Fantastic comparison which helped me a lot with my decision. I will go with the older one because I just want to cruise in summer and I also like the sound more. Greetings from Germany!!
The Granturismo is probably the greatest secret value in exotic cars. It sounds like a Ferrar , it's beautiful and you can pick up a 2013 with really low miles for $40k
Thumb up for this gentleman is wearing trousers instead of those knee length shorts which seemingly are a widely adopted garment amongst luxury cars drivers in our days...as far as I can are on YT. P.S.- thanks for sharing 👍
Roof mechanism exactly same in both and also passed into Portofino. The California T engine was also used in 488 and Portofino. I have California T and did long European road trip this summer to FR, IT and CH circa 2000 miles. A superb GT car with lots of space…. I could not have done the same trip in my McLaren 570 Spider ( well OK, if I didn’t take the wife and her luggage I could 🤭)… even fully loaded I managed to find space to get 12 bottles of champagne in car somehow.
I think In few years original California becomes more desirable than the T . Being more special(odd) in design and the naturally aspirated v8. One of those cars that will appreciate high
I'm 32, grown out of Porsches & my 4th F-Type right now...have been considering a V8 Conti GT but looking into something a bit more exotic too. Always been scared of an engine rebuild or something with exotica....but maybe with a Ferrari warranty, I'll do it. 'Gotta be the T for me, those subtle tweaks to the exterior design are fabulous.
Nice review. But could do with some more depth. Which makes the better noise? Steering feel? Chassis? Which is more fun to drive? Obviously the newer car is quicker and more modern.
Cali T so much more of a SUPERCAR. Looks better, performance is massively better and sounds really good as well. Twin tubos have definitely made it better for a very small compromise on the N/a sound
If i drive a supercar, all i care about is the sound and speed, but speed is not the most important thing, the sound is all that's important for me. I don't car about 0-60 or top speed aslong as it sounds like *** ( like the T ) it's not a real Ferrari for me. N/A all the way!
I love NA and the sound too, but acceleration is just as important to me. I have an NA and turbo car to get both fixes. Saying a car is not a “real” Ferrari is a bit silly though. If it was built in Maranello at the factory and wears the badge, guess what, It’s a real Ferrari. Maybe not your preferred one. Ironically my buddies who are fellow mid engine V8 owners consider the Cali not a real Ferrari.
As a miata owner, i deeply agree with you. Nc 0-60 is only 9 seconds but it give me so much fun in recent 8 years. I'm considering change my nc to California. Seems like the old California is more suitable for me.
@@scuddryvr8784 You can always remind your buddies that the early Ferraris were all front engine cars. Iconic models such as the 250 GTO, and 250 GT California Spyders are both front engine cars and nobody doubts they are real Ferraris.
You also have the California T , SPECIALE HANDLING , Best of the 2 worlds , better sound , quicker respons , nicer look and only little more expensive ,
Mate what sports cars would you recommend as in value for money. I’m holding assets that’s made me a lot of money recently so want to get a sports car never thought I’d be able to afford but don’t want to go crazy. I’m guessing the California or maybe a 4-5 yr old Aston Martin vantage? I’m in UK. Love the channel, Any advice would be great thanks.
From NYC. Great comparison. Questions: Are there differences in how they handle bumps? Were they both equipped with magnetic shocks? And... I'm tall... were the seats shaped a bit differently? Thanks!
Thank you for watching.. California is the bumpy road car .. super soft ride .. not sure about mag ride .. so far as seats you would fit very well.. the small rear seat means huge adjustment.. the T is the car of you can stretch a bit more money for one..
@@supercarsinsecondsluxuryre8258 Thanks for the response... I see Dimmitt on your shirt... that reminds me of the dealership. That's always a good thing!
Finally have the funds to get my first 'Super Car' and have narrowed it down to a 2020 Aston Martin Vintage, 2019 Mclaren 570S and a 2017Ferrari California T. I would be very interested to get your opinion on all 3. Any info on costs, maintenance, future value and reliability would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Jeremy
Very nice cars actually it’s a tossup between the C8 or the California for me…. That being said what is the average maintenance cost per year on the California for example how much does a oil change normally?
The 4.3 naturally aspirated. Its night and day difference nit even close. Its not even a comparison. All turbo cars in the world have lost their soul. The california 4.3 is one if the best cars full stop
The California has been my favorite for many years. I was surprised to discover it cost less and was designed for the American market. I guess they know us. They hit it out of the park with that body design and I find your comment about "dipping their toes into" ridiculous. I'd bet money you've never hears that from an actual buyer. It would never occur to you that someone might like the car because of its shape and style. You shouldn't be allowed to work there. Snobs don't make good salesmen.

The California and the Maserati GranTurismo are two of my favorite cars. Their long wheelbase and flowing lines are beautiful.
The Granturismo is probably the greatest secret value in exotic cars. It sounds like a Ferrar , it's beautiful and you can pick up a 2013 with really low miles for $40k
Funny cause the original granturismo was the cali. Ferrari liked it soo much they took the design 😂
Awesome video ... this guy does it perfect ... no drag, all useful info and informative to what we wanna hear ... he is a talented guy ...A +
Perfect comparison….i have a California30 and I am really happy….I am 61!!!
Well done. The Cali will be a classic because of the Pininfarina design and the last naturally aspirated V8. The Cali T, not so much.
Thumb up for this gentleman is wearing trousers

Presenting a comparison that I always wanted to see.

Great Job

Bought the CaliT and this review was really helpful thanks very much
Awesome review. Nice fair delivery of comparison between the two vehicles. Kind regards and cheers. Juns.
Thank you for watching.. both great but the T is really good
Another great comparison /review . You deserve way more sub’s🇬🇧
That’s very nice ! Thank you for watching!
Great review. Helps me understand the difference. Future garage Dweller
Mostly will save some money and pick the original with more noise for daily use as want to have some fun
Unexpectedly great review and comparison. Especially for an American. It really helped me make up my mind.
Thank you for watching

I think your right .. I do like the cars in red for sure
Totally agree with you. The California has a very unique and timeless Pininfarina desing, and above all, the last naturally aspirated V8 engine.
Totally agree with you all , I enjoy the original Cal with much better V8 NA Sounds & the stylish look too more
Agree and replacement turbos won’t be cheap!

I’m thinking of moving up from an f type. Did you make the move? How are you finding comparison wise?
Cali 30 for me ! N/A sound is king 🤴
I’ve just bought a TDF blue original cali, the extra shove of the T wasn’t worth the extra £25k. Good video thx
Always enjoy your reviews. Maybe Ferrari someday, but still waiting for my C8 delivery.
Ahhh fun car .. great transmission you will love it
Nice review. But could do with some more depth. Which makes the better noise? Steering feel? Chassis? Which is more fun to drive? Obviously the newer car is quicker and more modern.
Excellent, clear review!
Really useful comparison, great video 👍
Thank you for watching
GREAT REVIEW , thnx, makes me happy with my T version :-)
Thank you for watching.. California seems more “Ferrari “ to me than Portofino .. enjoy your car !!!
This is an excellent, very informative video. Thank you so much.
Solid review, I think its mid engine though, but still in the front 😅
Cali T is easily the winner! At least for me! Gorgeous car!
Great review thanks - made my mind up !!
Ahhhh perfect
Great review
Great comparison!!
Great review 👍🏽
Superb video. Subbed
Cali T so much more of a SUPERCAR.

If Two Boston terriers fit in back I’m in ! 😊
I'll take the red one!
That was very useful. 👍🏻

I don’t like the turbo
If you are buying these on finance you can get a Cali T cheaper than a Cali monthly payment as Cali too old to do pcp/balloon

Buy a 911 GT3 of any year .. no downside usually in value and lower running costs

California T ,looks better,in my opinion
I agree .. similar but an improvement I think

NA version has less depreciation I guess?

Buy the Ferrari for re sale the McLaren for fun
Or you could buy a brand new Lexus LC 500 Convertible and not worry about any of that.
Ferrari California 460cv o 560cv Coupé e Cabriolet 💪💪💪💪💯💯💯💯

Bruh, you are really comparing a Chevy to a Ferrari?
Hey! I remember that car!
Yes Sir! Magnificent.
Every turbo is worth of 25k when it fails so i bought a normal california too😅
How can u not mention the sound..nothing compares to a NA ferrari
The 4.3 naturally aspirated. Its night and day difference nit even close. Its not even a comparison. All turbo cars in the world have lost their soul. The california 4.3 is one if the best cars full stop

Neither! Buy a Porsche
Porsche is boring 💤
Im trading my Panamera turbo in for a NA Cali - Porsche boring
