And yet when this statement was made, there were laws banning gay marriage in many states. How is that equal, when one group makes laws taking rights away from another? The reason we need laws that do not allow discrimination based on things like race, gender, orientation, religion, etc, is not to give special rights to certain groups, but keeping other groups from taking their rights away.

I agree with D'Souza. It does NOT say only "Straight Persons" have inalienable rights.... That is why we should not of went to war in the 1860's. (For those of you still in public schools and recent college graduates.....The Civil War.) No where that I remember does it say only Whites were considered human, and not blacks in the U.S. Constitution. But that is exactly what the Democrats thought then, and still do. Hence the Civil War, and the need to "abolish slavery" that the Constitution never did mention when originally drawn up. Imagine, if people were religious and believed that everyone was equal. That was claimed to be the case south of the Mason-Dixon Line but in reality never put into use, and to a degree in many areas of the "North". Too bad we lost so many during that disgraceful war. I treat everyone equal until they prove me wrong, be they Black, Brown, Yellow, Queer, Gay or Transgendered.

Uhm the constition is not the only law in your nation. It is also far from perfect. In fact anything not specifically and explicitly stated in the constitution can theoretically be exploited, unless a law bill was already passed that closes that hole. Part of the Jim crow laws that made black people loose all their constitutional rights was simply defining them as "not men" or not human in today's terms (men and human used to be interchangeable) , rendering them an exception from the constution, because the constitution itself doesn't define what a human actually is and what a human isn't.

The only problem I have with your comment is that the War of Northern Aggression (AKA Civil War) was about slavery. It was about economics, slavery wasn't propagandized until the North couldn't get enough people to care. In point of fact, slavery was only mentioned as an example of an overreaching federal government. The South said it was not up to the federal government to decide if a state was a slave state, it was up to the individual state. In fact, the South planned to eliminate slavery by 1864. Lincoln was heard to say "let the South go? How will we pay for all this?" The thing is, the North was pissed because Southern ports were bringing in more money than the North. I apologize for the length of this reply, I just couldn't make it shorter. Lol.

By how they word it they imply that lgbtq people are different than normal people and should be given specific rights due to that. A right is supposed to be for everyone not specific groups. If it cannot be enforced for everyone it should not be a right.

Well... he side stepped a landmine question there at the end. It would have been interesting to know where he stands on the issue. However, it was a good response nonetheless, just not a revealing response as to his position on the issue. I think it is the first time I come across a video where he avoids revealing where he stands. I don't think the question was about special rights but about legislation guaranteeing equal rights. Something that is not always achieved without special legislation as proven by the number of amendments to the constitution guaranteeing things such as the right to vote for women, blacks, etc... these were not special rights either, they were rights being denied that required legislation to insure they were protected.

What about all the amendments, such as the one guaranteeing the rights of women to vote, or the Civil Rights act of 1964, prohibiting discrimination on the basis of race? Sometimes, to guarantee equal rights, you need special legislation to combat the previous reality of rights being denied to particular groups. D'Souza sidestepped the question--if he was really interested in individual rights (universally), he would be against all the conservative bedroom laws.

Checking facts again, homosexual 'marriage' is legal in all 50 states since 2015. The Constitution does grant immorality to be a liberty, such as theft, murder, nor homosexuality - the latter bringing 700,000 deaths, over half trillion costs, and untold suffering to USA. Do you support this...theft, murder, too? Morality choices are not necessarily religious-based.
Separation: Constitution defines rights as GOD-Given, under clear context of Judeo-Christian morality, btw. If you separate God out- you therefore have no Constitutional rights. The original 13 States of the USA each had an official State (Christian) religion, which could not be forced upon people, per Constitution, but clearly encouraged and allowed. This framework has protected us, especially from moral relativism (see Hitler, Stalin, Mao) as deceitfully espoused by the left in recent history. You're aware of the LGBTQ leadership crying for the destruction of Christianity in the US, right?
Your arguments are deceitful and belie the cause for the decay of our society and the fruit of it we are seeing now.
