President Hoyte had signed an agreement with the Carter Centre for free and fair elections and in 1992 free and fair elections were achieved. Hats off to him. He had inherited a broken economy in 1985 after the death President Burnham but he tried his level best with the limited resources available to bring Guyana back into the mainstream of progressive economic activity . He implemented the ERP on the advise of one of the big banks in Washington, DC. Tell me is there any biography written about this important statesman to date?

What an intellect mr Hoyte was. His speech was eloquent, thought provoking and patriotic. I wish guyana could get another leader like him in this day and age

Kaieture is my family's establishment on Georgia Avenue Washington DC. Unfortunately I wasn't in America at that time. Kaieture is no more in operation.

They visited all, but came back home (to Guyana) with nothing in their hands, except their dick. After the people had invested, these thieves, nationalied the investors investment (a form of theft), and took it all. They live high (for a while) from other people wealth, until it was all gone, then after starvation hit them, they go begging. They never planted a fruit tree, but stole the fruits of others. Yes, and they say they PROUD of such wicked deeds.

  • @robertslopez1812

Hoyte was interim president after the death of Burham in 1985...not president. He was never elected by the people of Guyana.
Hoyte went on as interim president for 6 plus years refusing to call election until 1992.
He tried to hold onto power until usa Jimmy Carter forced him.
Today the current opposition forced the PPP Government to give Hoyte estate presidential benefits even when he wasn't president.
    Bullyism by Guyana opposition

      Was she legal?
      What of Sam Hinds?
Now, go for it with receipts!

He was sworn in a the president of the Co-perative Republic of Guyana after his predecessor Forbes Burnham was deceased- the same as when Sam Hinds became President after the death of Dr. Cheddie Hagan.
