Once Maya and the family complained about Beady the hospital should have gave her a different social worker. They had plenty to chose from.

OMG! Peter! As a nurse of 38 years, Master’s prepared, LNC, and a mother, the testimony of the nurses made me feel sorry for Maya even more. What I can see in Maya is legitimate! Makes me so sad as a professional. I teach nursing students that patients must live with what we as nurses do or don’t do! This poor family!!😢

So, the 45+ hours in the “surveillance” room was to catch Maya walking. They put the commode across the room to see if she would walk over to it. She didn’t ever get out of the bed. She was found in urine and her own feces and her father had to clean her up. If she was being watched by hospital personnel, WHY DIDNT THEY GO IN THERE AND GET MAYA CLEANED UP AND BACK TO A REGULAR ROOM? And where are the notes that were supposedly taken while Maya was being observed? I’d give the Kowalski’s 2x whatever they ask for!

So imagine If the Beaty was being inappropriate then had an order from the court that kept Maya from being able to tell her parents. And the person that’s hurting you is sitting next to you while your on the phone with your parents.

IDK if is the experience of everybody, but I’ve been in the hospital even for ObGyn surgeries and procedures, multiple occasions. Nobody has ever come to look under my clothes for no apparent reason. I’ve had surgeries that are being documented as part of research, nobody has come to take random photos. Apart from that, every time a doctor has to do an actual evaluation, there is a nurse with him. So many boundaries were crossed with Maya. Then they ask why she stopped cooperating, she was collecting traumatic experiences by the day.

ABSOLUTELY MK nominated that nurse bc she came when MK needed her! That was my very first thought when she said that. She meant that for WHAT IT IS! My mama bear reared up but my 30+ years of being a nurse reared harder. This is BEYOND unacceptable. These people are ALL loving their positions of “authority” and/or power hungry. They ALL seem to be motivated by a need to feel special. I’ve seen it a million times and when left unchecked…..IT IS DANGEROUS. This facility has HORRIBLE communication plans in place. I’ve never seen the buck passed like JHACH staff pass it. Wow! Disgusting really. So many balls dropped and responsibilities shirked.

Dang Peter! You’re analysis of today’s witnesses in Kowalski’s trial was A+. You covered the highlights in record time, and for that I’m truly grateful! 😊

  • @courtneybright9411

I feel like the jury questions show just how closely they are paying attention to everything being said. I love jury questions and wish that we saw them in more cases, it really is interesting to get a feel for where their head is at.

Did you see how Maya moved her shirt sleeve down after the nurse put the blood pressure cuff on her arm in that monitor room you could tell that Maya was very modest

  • @audrakay_1301

I definitely want you to cover Sally Smith's testimony! I have been following this trial closely and I appreciate that you have been sharing your personal & legal thoughts with us about this heartbreaking case.

I have a complicated seizure disorder. One type is non-electric and three other types are electric. Very rare. Multiple times taken to ER where nurse or doctor said that was a fake seizure. Seizures are potentially deadly so I was lucky, I guess, that they didn't stop my seizure medication or send me home too early. Scary, horrible situation for me in my mid 20s. I find it difficult to contemplate how a child, unable to advocate for themselves, are probably mistreated more often than we know.

  • @jennifermonk4275

Were they trying to prove whether Biata had MBP or whether Maya had conversion disorder?

  • @annabland1110

Replay crew here, at home recovering from surgery. I am a nearly 40 year old woman. Doctors always ask me if I want to request a third person in the room for any exam that has any sensitivity whatsoever. Any clothes needing to be removed, any hands on examination. HOW were people allowed to take a CHILD into a room with no third party and remove clothing or put hands on her?!

The best part was the judge’s instruction to this witness about lunch!

So much to me was withheld from the Kowalski 's. They retained rights. However, they weren't included. The shade is real

  • @user-gm6pj8tt5w

The plaintiffs absolutely won the jury over and discredited some of the major witnesses. The defense had… I was shocked at how they couldn’t answer the questions after being confronted with the lies.

  • @Jessica-hk5qt

They don’t think she’s faking. They think the mother was ill and maya was having psychogenic pain. It’s not the same as faking.

  • @TheyCallMeLala

I am missing your lives b/c I am watching every single minute of the Maya trial.

  • @ams6528
