I'm not a fan if top ten videos but I love my home state of Mass so I decided to watch the whole thing and I was quite impressed with how much driving and walking you did to get to all of these places. I'm a truck driver and drive throughout the whole state and I can tell you that's lot of traveling. A for effort, A for content and A for execution.
Even more than you might think. I believe I was visiting just over 15 places that I whittled down to the 10. Made for a couple busy weekends haha. Thank you for enjoying it and getting a taste of home! I did another one with 15 cape cod trails. maybe you would enjoy that one as well. Cheers!
Just came across your video as I was looking to get away for a day or two..maybe three lol...and just always have been fascinated and in love with even the smallest waterfall....since a young age actually. I love the northwest corner and definitely grateful to fall (no pun intended lol) upon your post. Thank you and you made my weekend planning much more efficient with respect to planning. Your UA-cam post was very well done and appreciated.
Aww thank you for such a nice comment! It always makes me happiest when I hear that my video was so useful for people planning their own excursions! I hope you enjoy the waterfalls as much as I did! You may even see them with more water after all this rain we’ve had all summer!
Great video. You should check out Glendale Falls in Middlefield. Pretty much zero hiking, but if you like waterfalls, its pretty decent. It's a cascade fall with around a 160 foot drop. I have been there with very little water flowing and I have been there when it's been thunderous.
I have been to most of these waterfalls but I grew up going to Doanes Falls. As a teenager, we used to jump off the top of the falls. So many memories from childhood to adulthood. Tannery Falls is probably my favorite. Good times there also.
Thank you I really like it my favorite one is the Wahconah Fall I love that one a lot because it was a lot of space where you can swim I really enjoy watching your videos it was great.
It would be dope if you put the timestamps next to each hike you list. I gotta show these to my partner and that would make it a lot easier to jump around. Great video and great info - thanks for sharing it!
Thanks for the feedback Jerome! I thought about doing that and I know how to do it, I typically add time stamps to all my hiking videos. But as this was very first top 10 list I wasn't sure if that would negatively affect how much of the video people watch by skipping around too easily hahaha I hope you two find some great trails to hike together from the list!
I think Bash Bish falls should have number 1!!! Coming from Dutchess County, one of the best parks in the county is Taconic state park, which borders Washington state park in Massachusetts where Bash Bish is located. In this area you can see Three states Connecticut, New York and Massachusetts. Western Massachusetts never get to billing... Why?
hahahah That is a valid opinion. Maybe I wanted to be a little contrarian or maybe I just felt the hike was slightly more interesting then the flat walk to Bash Bish. I'll have to explore Taconic state park some more when my knee heals up. Thanks for the recommendation!
Great video! Did you do them all in one day, I noticed you wear the same thing each time. That would be impressive! Also, which one was the least buggy?
Haha It was all in one weekend. (I included the hiking dates near the alltrails links) That is my hiking uniform for the videos haha Helps with the continuity
Hi Adam ! It was great experience to watch ur video on waterfall. Great job. Can u suggest the circuit from where to start one by one which include all these 13 waterfalls to cover within 3-4 trips ? I am living in Lowell n just came to beautiful Massachusetts.
Glad you really enjoyed the video. So in the video description are all the maps for all the falls. I know most of the are located further out west and in the Berkshires. A good method might be to start up by North Adams and work your way down towards Connecticut. Hope that helps.
Yesterday I had take a tour to three waterfalls out of your list. Bash Bish , Race Brook and Campbell ! all of them are so beautiful and on their peaks due to recent heavy rain in the region. We had started from Lowell - first to Bash Bish than to Race Brook and last Campbell . Trail to Race Brook is little tuff but really enjoyed a lot once at waterfall . Bash Bish and Campbell isnt much trail. Easy walking through lush green bush area. Thanks a lot again.
I have been to most of those falls because I live in the Berkshires. I even took a dip in the small pool halfway down Tannery Falls. The one that you missed is Glendale Falls not far from my house in Middlefield. I think it's the tallest falls in Massachusetts.
yeah i've been to glendale falls a lot. good times. it is not much of a hike though. the ones in chester would be fun to see and those are not too far from me. exciting.
Check out dunbar brook sometime. Located in the berkshires. A gorgeous small waterfall the just keeps spilling from pool to pool among massive boulders eventually reaching the Deerfield river. It will not disappoint.
Very nice video. I'm looking to move to the Quabbin area west. Much more natural beauty, less populated and a whole lot cheaper than eastern MA. I have some difficulty with my legs so this video was really helpful with the distances and difficulty of the trails.
I always appreciate these comments the most. I'm so glad that the video was able to give you the info you need so that you can successfully get back out there exploring the waterfalls for yourself. I hope everything goes well with the move when you area able to make it happen!
this is an excellent video for me personally, but i really think it would be important to add what the swimming pool is like at the bottom of the fall and rate the swimming in them too.
While I know that Is something many other people enjoy it is not something I personally encourage or participate in. I try and leave no trace. Doing all the research to figure out where you can and cannot swim was not something I wanted to explore or then have to worry about peoples safety.
I plan on exploring Western Mass this summer. Do you know if I would be fine camping out for a day around any of these waterfalls? By the way awesome video. Excellent contents!! You got yourself a new subscriber.
Thank you for watching! Glad you enjoyed it! You’d have to do a little more research for some of these waterfalls related to that. If you mean like camping right next to one? Probably not? But for example tannery falls is right down the dirt road from little campground, so I guess you could say yes? Depends what you’re looking for. None of the trails are long enough to require any overnights to get to the waterfalls
Thanks for a well put together vid. Good directions. However, Chappel falls is in Ashfield not Asheville. If you want to skip the beautiful long hike you can access the falls from Williamsburg Road.
OOO that's interesting. I'll have to go relisten to my video. I must have just misspoke or mispronounced it when reading the name. Of course you could go right to the waterfall, but this is a hiking channel so I'm going to recommend the hike lol
@@AdamHoyt a great hike makes the reward at the end much more appreciated. Kind of like trekking to the top of Mt Washington versus driving. Just buy the video if you’re not interested in the journey!
I'm wondering if the trail to twin cascades had eroded significantly more over the last two years or of its just really that sketchy in the winter but the part right as you get to the bottom cascade below both of them -the trail has completely eroded to nothing and is just a loose pile of dirt on the extremely steep gorge. The day I went I couldn't pass it due to the snow and ground being so wet. I tested it several times for a secure foot placement and couldn't get one. I'll try again another time but yeah that was one of the sketchiest sections of any trail I've ever been on and I've been on some gnarly trails ranging from California to Utah to Colorado, New York, PA... Pretty much the entire east coast really lol.
That's interesting to know! I don't remember it standing out in my mind at the time. SO maybe it has eroded more since then! I have not personally been back since 2021 when I filmed this.
Bash Bish Falls was named after a native American girl who fell in love with a man, I think he was a white man, if I remember the story she could not be with this man for obvious reasons. So she cast herself off the top of the falls to her death.
My mama told me not to go chasing waterfalls, but I reckin I could give some of these a go.
You should totally try it!

Bash Bish falls frozen over in the winter is very nice
Wow I can only imagine! I should go try and see it then!

What great memories. Glad you liked Tannery as well!
This is just priceless and beautiful! Que tanta comida, que tanta televisor? A walk on the beach regardless of the weather. Anything outdoors.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks very much for the alltrails maps! I'll be doing some of these on my next trip out west!
Be sure to let me know how it goes!
Excellent video. This clearly covered waterfalls and made it easy for me to decide on which one to hike to.
Great to hear! So which one are you eager to check out?
great video! i love hiking.. nature is awesome.. thanks for sharing mate!

Waterfalls are the best!!
One of my favorites!
That was so interesting! Thank you for highlighting all the MA waterfalls. I enjoyed hiking with you also.
Glad you had fun!
Neat, I've heard of all of these but appreciate the footage and insight. Also the zelda music was fun
Glad you enjoyed the footage and the secret Zelda vibes! thanks for watching!
Perfect timing, great video
Glad you think so! Just the right amount of water to make things interesting

Glad to be missed! This video requiring more hikes coupled with memorial day delayed me a bit but more regular programing is coming!

I love a great waterfall! Thanks for sharing the list.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks, Love it. ❤
You're welcome 😊
I enjoyed Royalston Falls. I t was a great hike and a awesome site.
Yes that was my favorite hike out to the falls the day I went. It was so scenic!
nice video !
Thank you! Cheers!

@@AdamHoyt glendale falls is more of cluster of falls over a large area. it isn't one fall, it is many many all over the rocks.
Check out dunbar brook sometime. Located in the berkshires.

Thanks! Hope you go chase some waterfalls as well this spring!
@@AdamHoyt Thanks Adam...sure will. Enjoy!
You have to try the other trail to Bash Bish! Super scramble-y... Metal chain to hang on to.... One of my faves! (Not the one that looks like a road)
Thanks for the recommend! I actually did explore it to get the track for my all trails but didn't get around to filming it.
simply amazing!! just subbed

Sad you can't get down to bash bish falls anymore..they closed it off so now you have to look at the boarder they built
Oo no! I must have snuck in there just before they changed the rules! Well at least now the footage can exist for people to see it closer!
@@AdamHoyt From what the ranger told me people were vandalizing it..so Thank you for posting it in this video..was my favorite place to go..

Great video, why does the water look soapy in the pool near some of the waterfalls?
No idea! You’d have to ask a hydrology expert!
Pretty sure the hoosac tunnel is notoriously haunted
It felt haunted walking next to it!
❤️

Massachusetts
Yep
Are there anymore in eastern Ma?
None of this caliber
Is that Wind Waker I hear?
I can neither confirm nor deny that the tunnel next to the twin cascades leads to the great sea.
Which one do you think was the best?
It's pronounced "Dohns" falls not Do Anns falls
🤷♂️ didn’t even make the top ten so….
Bash Bish Falls was named after a native American girl who fell in love with a man, I think he was a white man, if I remember the story she could not be with this man for obvious reasons. So she cast herself off the top of the falls to her death.
that is a crazy story!
