Yes they are 2 1/4 oz loads so are the copper plated turkey loads and they kick exactly the same I bought a Remington 870 super mag in 2000 shot maybe 5 and traded it for a flat bottom John boat lol
It would be funny as hell but I don't think they make a 3 1/2 inch chamber single shot I couldn't image it ! I had a Remington 870 supermag in 3 1/2 and when we would shoot clays we casually slip one in the tube on someone when they wouldn't notice and damn was it worth it ! Priceless!
I found in my shotgun the bigger the buck, the bigger the pattern. Ive finally stayed with 2 3/4 #1 buck with an x-full choke. Its the tightest patterns at 40 yards. 11 pellets i can cover with my hand and 3 flyers. I'll live with it.
you got me with that slow motion recoil. i was thinking to myself "man it didn't seem that bad at regular speed" and then it kept getting worse. laugh out loud funny.
Smart alec! The fight with your gun made me grin. I also like your disclaimer about the sample size. This vid is up to your usual excellent standards. Thanks, Buff.
Hey Buffalo, I really like your folksy videos. I have never used a shotgun with interchangeable chokes, all I have is a old Browning Auto 5 with a factory full choke. It has been over 50 years since I patterned that old gun but I can tell you when I did I had the muzzle at 50 yds. not my eyes at 50 so I guess I was actually over 51 yds when I did. I remember very well that my patterns were at least 4-12 inches tighter than what the interchangeable chokes provided mine were all 2 3/4 and 3". Those interchangeable were not too bad with the 2 3/4 but the 3" forget it my fixed was way better than that. I think you convinced me to never use those at least for deer hunting and stick with my fixed choke. It would probably be better just to purchase a second barrel for birds and rabbits and use the interchangeables for that as you could just over choke if necessary to get the pattern you are looking for. Keep those vids coming the more I watch the more I know I will stick with what I have they are tried and true.
I actually got a really nice 50 yard pattern out of the remington 8 pellet 000 buck with a plain ol improved cylinder choke, it even exceeded some of the boar blaster patterns. It also put a single pellet through a gallon jug at 80 yards as well. Nicely done video!!
I purchased a boar blaster and couldn't be happier I have shot deer at 80 yards with my Remington 1100 26 inch barrel with no problems,I highly recommend the boar blaster
Buffalo deserves more subs! This is some of the most entertaining content on Pootube. 11:13 is some really eye opening stuff we rarely get to see in super slow mo 😂👍🏽😎. Keep it up sir!

Great review Buffalo! The pattern with the 000 was amazing! I’m gonna have to get this choke now, just to see how tight the patterns are at 20, 30 and 40 yds., as well as 50! Hint for future videos, use a magic marker to draw a small circle around each pellet hit, they show up much better. Thanks again!
@@buffalosoutdoors yeah man just keep it up. Here latley shotguns have been my go to for hunting being the scrub is so thick down here. Wow, never realized just what I was missing now that I see the slow mo ! 😊 Sure is a lot happening in that millisecond ! 😊 Good review on the choke! Thanks for sharing and take care. 👍
Thanks for that my friend! I know this video didn't necessarily end the way I wanted it too. It kinda left more questions than answers but that's the way it goes sometimes. Thanks for watching my vids!
Great video on a topic I have been very interested in. Thank you. I have been patterning with the Trulock Deerstroyer, which is the same as the Boar Blaster, over the last two months. I wasn't convinced that it was doing anything differently or better than a Trulock full. I contacted Trulock and asked what type of ammo performed the best for them with the Deerstroyer and George himself responded. He said that the best pattern obtained by them was with Dead Coyote buckshot with the next best being the Federal Vital Shok buffered, not the Flite Control version. Yesterday, I shot Federal 3" 00 15 pellet loads out of the Trulock Deerstroyer, a Trulock full and a Trulock extra full at 35 yards. Shooting at a 14-1/2" circle on a 2' x 2' paper backer at 35 yards the Deerstroyer's best target was 10 pellets in the 14-1/2"circle and consistently had 7 out of 15 pellets in the circle. All Deerstroyer shots had 15 out of 15 on the 2' backer The best target with the full choke was 6 out of 15 in the circle and 10 out of 15 on the backer. The best target with the extra full was 5 out of 15 in the circle and 7 out of 15 on the backer. After yesterday, I am finally convinced that the Trulock Deerstroyer (Boar Blaster) does what it is designed to do. I suppose I was expecting more drastic results but better is better.
I absolutely love your videos buffalo. I have been watching you since the beginning. My favorite videos are your shotgun videos. I’m a shotgun kinda guy. Thanks for what you do. And I loved that slow motion video of that shotgun kicking your butt lol.
Hey thanks for sticking with me all this time! I really enjoy doing these videos. I tried to throw the slo mo in there to help make the long video a little easier to swallow. I am glad you enjoy the vids and thanks!
The 000 looked like the best pattern. And they definitely hit harder. Pattern string length also makes a big difference. A good slow motion of the pattern just before impact will show that. Often times animals react so fast when the first pellets hit that the other slower pellets won’t hit them.
You, Paul Harrell, and Hickok45 are my favs. Great personality, my friend. I actually was patterning some 00, and #4 buck with my Stevens 320 28" barrel, pump, 12 gauge today! Hell, just the 3" magnum are pretty rough. Those 3 1/2 looked brutal! My best patterns came with full choke(.700) with the #4 buck, and (.690) with the 00. I love patterning shotguns!!! My shoulder hurts, but it's worth the fun. lol
Wow you mentioned me with some heavy hitters there, I appreciate that! It is a lot of fun to get out and pattern and learn the nuances of a particular shotgun so I know where you're coming from! It's worth the pain! LOL
Quench factors is everything . I use #4s&2s every bb in load is in the turkey & goes threw 1/2" plywood at 78 yards . #5 s are crazy to use at 50 or closer yards . More important for any & all , that magical sweet velocity.
11.10 was crazy hilarious. 🤣🤣🤣 I was tripping until 10 seconds in. 🤣🤣🤣 Excellent video. ❤️ That is amazing at 50y. I would like to see this at 5y, 10y and 15y for indoor house defense.
You should NEVER use pellets that large for home defense. Overpenetration will absolutely be an issue. Cylinder choke or riot choke with #6 or #7.5 lead will take care of any 2legged issues within 25yards.
Blast you! You stole my thunder again! I bought one of these last summer and did a bunch of testing off camera with hopes to review it this past summer but never got it done. I also found the Federal plated 00 buck patterned the tightest of the loads I shot. Good video, guess I wont need to make one now! Lol 😂😂
M, thanks. Yeah I probably will just because mine is the mossberg variety, but I did basically get the exact same results he did! Lol. I actually wasn’t overly impressed with the choke myself. 👍🏻
That 3.5 magnum recoil is why I traded the turkey express I had. I can't see how turkey hunting would be enjoyable if all you can think about is shoulder pain. The I'm going to do a slow motion was hilarious.
I use choke tubes ranging from .680 to .705, when patterning buckshot. It's all according to size(#4, #1, 00, and 000), and brand of buckshot, which choke patterns the best, at long range. In enjoy pattern testing.

And your calm, down-to-earth style is makes you a superb spokesman for the 2nd Amendment. I tend to watch a lot of firearms videos so I'm telling you the truth when I say you never get boring when you do a long video. As far as the slow motion portion of the video, *HOLY S%@& THAT WAS FUNNY MAN!!! :)*
Hey Buffalo - I know, here I am again... But, we at FLETC (Federal Law Enforcement Training Center) used to qualify the U.S. Coast Guard with their 12 gauge shotguns with 00 Buck Shot. They would shoot 5 shot strings and then we were to score the targets. At first it seemed extremely difficult, but when we divided a target into 4 sections with a felt tip and then counted the hits in each quadrant it became easy. FWIW
Growing we had 2 shotguns we(my dad and brothers) swore were top tear throwers. They were wingmasters with a 28" full and 30" full. #1 or #4 3" would put all shots at 45yds the size of a basketball!!!! To this day my shotguns are 28s and a 30 with Fulls.
I patterned buckshot all day today. My best results with 00 were with my .700, and .705 chokes. My shotgun is a standard .730 bore, 28" bbl. My best results with #4 buck were with my .665, and .680 chokes. Sounds like my .690 should do well with #1 buck, according to today's results. I got better results with the Flight Control today, with an improved cylinder(.720). Usually it does better with cylinder(.730). Go figure... I shot 2 shots with each choke.
Well, I keep searching for various things and keep ending up on one of your videos. I think I'll just go ahead and subscribe, so you can tell me what I want to know _before_ I need to search for it! Ha! Thanks for putting together such an informative channel.
A great help is to patching holes with those little color circle stickers. They make a ton of colors so you can shoot same target and know which rounds are patterning where. Edit: you can pen in the round used on the patches. I’m really particular with my firearms.
The 000 buck out of my 28in 870 ...with the bore blaster was the worst of all I tested ... best being 3in Winchester super x 15 pellet 00 buck ... close second was Remington 3in 15 pellet 00 buck ...
You know what, looking at the video I think you're right. It actually had a good pattern and when you figure it's larger pellets carrying more energy it probably did the best out of all of them.
great video. and the "gun fight" was friggin hilarious. i would only argue, or point of interest, would be the pretty well identified issue with using chokes for buckshot. chokes work best with fowl shot. and larger bird shot like bb and t, or tt. but its been said , and kinda proved that chokes dont function as they should when using buck shot. certainly nothing like they do with birdshot. im not in anyway attacking you, or your methods. i cant find any issue with all that, i was just wanting to mention the buckshot and choke debate. which i believe has a bit of relevance. keep these kinds of videos coming. it was educational, well produced, and the unexpected addition of humor was magical.
This channel is criminally undersubscribed

Those 18 pellet loads were what? 2 oz. ???!!! You totally got me with the slo-mo segment. Very funny.
The charts say OO buck weighs 53.8 grains per pellet x 18 = 968 grains total.
That's over 2.2 ounces of lead. Son-of-a-b**** that's gotta hurt.

Shooting at a 14-1/2" circle on a 2' x 2' paper backer at 35 yards the Deerstroyer's best target was 10 pellets in the 14-1/2"circle and consistently had 7 out of 15 pellets in the circle. All Deerstroyer shots had 15 out of 15 on the 2' backer
The best target with the full choke was 6 out of 15 in the circle and 10 out of 15 on the backer.
The best target with the extra full was 5 out of 15 in the circle and 7 out of 15 on the backer.
After yesterday, I am finally convinced that the Trulock Deerstroyer (Boar Blaster) does what it is designed to do. I suppose I was expecting more drastic results but better is better.

At first it seemed extremely difficult, but when we divided a target into 4 sections with a felt tip and then counted the hits in each quadrant it became easy. FWIW
Beautiful!
Thank you!
EPIC super slo-mo shotgun slap session! 🤣
LOL! Glad you liked it!
those three and half loads are fun to sneak in on a game of clays with your buddies,.."sure you can try my new Beretta, go ahead"......lol!
LOL!
hahaha, that slow mo part! I love it!!!
Glad you liked it! I thought it might help break up the long video format. It has gotten a good response from you guys!
Growing we had 2 shotguns we(my dad and brothers) swore were top tear throwers. They were wingmasters with a 28" full and 30" full. #1 or #4 3" would put all shots at 45yds the size of a basketball!!!! To this day my shotguns are 28s and a 30 with Fulls.
another great video - liked the music this time, keep up the good work :)
Thanks!
Hey Buffalo - I found that wet snow is a wonderful pattern test medium. 😀
Good info!
Well, I keep searching for various things and keep ending up on one of your videos. I think I'll just go ahead and subscribe, so you can tell me what I want to know _before_ I need to search for it! Ha! Thanks for putting together such an informative channel.
Thanks for subscribing, glad to have you here at the channel! It's also good to hear that my videos actually come up when you do a search!
The slow motion was too funny
A great help is to patching holes with those little color circle stickers. They make a ton of colors so you can shoot same target and know which rounds are patterning where.
Edit: you can pen in the round used on the patches. I’m really particular with my firearms.
The 000 buck out of my 28in 870 ...with the bore blaster was the worst of all I tested ... best being 3in Winchester super x 15 pellet 00 buck ... close second was Remington 3in 15 pellet 00 buck ...
Hahaha that slow motion 🤣🤣
The triple ought target seemed better to my old eyes!
You know what, looking at the video I think you're right. It actually had a good pattern and when you figure it's larger pellets carrying more energy it probably did the best out of all of them.
I thought you were gonna use that load also... that load would’ve done its business dead on pattern
great video. and the "gun fight" was friggin hilarious. i would only argue, or point of interest, would be the pretty well identified issue with using chokes for buckshot. chokes work best with fowl shot. and larger bird shot like bb and t, or tt. but its been said , and kinda proved that chokes dont function as they should when using buck shot. certainly nothing like they do with birdshot. im not in anyway attacking you, or your methods. i cant find any issue with all that, i was just wanting to mention the buckshot and choke debate. which i believe has a bit of relevance. keep these kinds of videos coming. it was educational, well produced, and the unexpected addition of humor was magical.
If the case of shot gun assault goes to court I think I saw it draw a knife on you.LOL Your camera person did a great job. YEHAA from Floyd County
LOL! I should have drawn my knife on it!
Lol dam that recoil 😂
Was not expecting that slow mo haha
