Richie Davis they all have the same set of sirens, they have choices but if there travelling together like they were then they would use different ones to alert traffic that there is more than one vehicle

@@paintballwizard09 more the case of different tones incase background noises mask the tones they are using. I had three unmarked X5's going through the Blackwall Tunnel behind me all using different tones. Didn't make any difference. They caused more problems than sirens by swerving dangerously lane to lane as no one could pull over. Not the best driving from the firearms teams! Bloody stupid!
As the doors went up at the fire station I was waiting for Captain Flack to appear, whistle followed by Pugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble, Grubb.

Bailey Chap : Not under the exigencies of duty. Besides which, it's the Highway Code which advices to drive on the left. HC isn't always law although if anyone causes an RTC after failing to comply with the HC they probably would be guilty of an RT offence. When you drive otherwise than in accordance with the HC, you normally drive with greater care and attention. If you or your family members were waiting for the arrival of the emergency services I'm sure you wouldn't be happy if they waited patiently at red traffic lights for them to turn green, if they observed all speed limits or if they tootled patiently behind an obstructing vehicle. This will horrify you but I have also driven fifty yards on the footpath with Saturday morning shoppers having to dodge into shops. Never had/caused an accident except when I clipped the wing mirror of a parked car at 5-10mph on an icy road.
@@stevetaylor9846 I meant as a regular car, you seem to be referring to actually BEING an emergency vehicle driver, which I wasn't accounting for. I assumed that you were a normal driver (or even a bus driver) that was traveling in the opposite lane for convenience, not for necessity and the saving of lives.

They’re coming across as Thames valley pumps now as we are all under the same control centre now so RBFRS, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire are all trying to get the same pumps so we can all use them on cross border jobs

Good show of the average British driver making room for emergency services. Doesn't happen in Auckland, NZ. Be quicker to walk !! But white van man in a merc sprinter could well be a JAFA (just another frigging aucklander) pulls over then accelerates with lots of black smoke to use the ambulance as a passage through the traffic!!

@@youking4861 The middle one of the 3 is the older model from the 2nd half of 2015, the others are from 2017/2018 after the facelift. As for one being an estate most forces are finding that the cars need more space to hold everything

Amazing. I’ve always loved those British ambulances, now they seem to have newer stylish models! We need those here! Hate these American “box” ones we’ve got! Mostly because they’re not fit for our narrow roads and left hand traffic anyway.
Royal Caymanian that’s in big cities my city of 30,000 people have no problem with them. Now New York is a different story

BucksBlue LightVids the newer ones are rare as I’ve caught it once but the old ones are rare in Berkshire and also the mondeo he caught isn’t a dog unit as there is no ventilation

You King no u can look there is none with dog units u can see the ventilation hub which is normally on top of the car such as the old dog unit we have the Mitsubishi Outlander has a massive one which is easy to see but the new ford mondeo dog units have a small black hub on top

sure is different as is the at 4:00 - as leds improve there sure is some great or un-usual lighting setups now. i`m all for it if it makes joe public notice and get out of the way quicker. i could do with a mixture of these lights as an upgrade lol

It's the stock Vauxhall one for vehicles they partly convert, so it's in fact very common on Astra Js and Vivaros. DRL, dipped and main beam all flash. Interesting and not really that effective.

My understanding was that someone had some 100% accurate information proving the McCanns were involved in their daughters death, so silencing them was a priority of national importance.
I thought UK had the same rule as AU. Pull to the left and stop for emergency vehicles. Now I see why I'm seeing so many ignoring the rule.

Since I'm still a n00b watching responding units from across the pond (you folks are more interesting than what I've seen here, plus I use to drive pumpers and ambulances here), a couple of firsts for me:
a) interesting station tones, sounded more soothing than "hey, we've got a call!"
b) the lights on the upper part of the box @4:00 that wrap around the corner instead of just a bar across
c) on the box ambulances, on the back right - I presume that is a ramp to assist loading the patient or am I way off?
d) nice how @4:38 the TVP van shut off his lights and siren knowing full well that it wasn't going to change the traffic in front of him at that light, then turned them back on - I'm presuming he wasn't running a code call (i.e., code 3 as we do here).
e) I hope you're not driving @9:03, mate ;) lol

Tones were designed to be more soothing for FFs whilst sleeping (the traditional "bell" and the sudden wake up that came with it was apparently heart attack inducing)
Code 3 being an emergency 999/ call for service. They call it an "I (Immediate) Grade" here. Sure the drivers are taught in situations like this to switch off lights and sirens (no point keeping them on). Check out "Met police two car convoy" on UA-cam for a training demo through London

Jay pretty much answered the questions, ans as for the van turning off the blues and twos, it was going to an I grade (Code 3 in the Usa) but turned them off as there was nowhere for the cars to go without jumping the lights.

On the box ambulances, the part you describe is a lift rather than a ramp - but it does the same job but with less manual handling.
09:50 My understanding is that you stop at a red flashing light.

At the 6:43 Mark I counted roughly 7 police, 4 ambulances and 1 fire tender. How much of this part of Berkshire did they cordon off and how many were injured for all of these?!
Nobody was injured, they were all responding to different calls.

@@NateFCO why would they be modified? They're just as the manufacturer supplies them. It's not just Whelen either, there's a wide variety including premier hazard and RSG plus some less common ones.

outstanding catch. when officer down call comes in n. america.everybody shows up.proves how close the police families are. we had a police officer shot twice in the back by a cowardly s.o.b. the abbottsford pd was grieving. the vancouver pd took over all duties in abby til the funereal.constable john davidson was a hero.yes the coward is now in prison.
I guess the officer in this case was assaulted rather than shot as that is still very rare in the UK
