Recently I bought the msi sword 15 a12vf 2023 and to be honest most of the problems are fixed like the screen is now 80%srgb and the the keyboard and touchpad problems are fixed also they improved the speakers by a lot but the screen hinge is still terrible, i would recommend this laptop for a budget to midrange gamer as it is priced at an ok price which is 1000 dollars for the rtx 4060 i712650h version and there is very few reviews out there for the newer unit which is unfortunate because I think it's a pretty good option for the price

I've literally had the worst experience with MSI and especially their online support (i had an sword 17, that kept shutting down or tripping the over current protection of the power brick when both cpu and gpu were loaded, and my screen kept flickering when hardware acceleration was enabled in chrome , so i contacted their support and after weeks of back and forth of me sending videos of my issues and explaining to them whats wrong with it, they just told me that the engineers couldn't replicate the issues and when it comes to the hardware acceleration thats an common issue and i should just deal with it) also not to mention that the plastic between the key caps on the keyboard broke after a few months of casual typing :/

to be fair, the left part looks like the PCH and thus not part of the actual CPU die. As is often the case, the part should not have contact with the cooler, otherwise the CPU would heat up the PCH.

I have used the msi katana gf66 with the intel core i5 and rtx 3050 ti for 2 years and had nothing but issues. It started with the keys breaking off while typing and the case started creaking. I had to replace the thermal paste to get acceptable thermals and recently the power button broke. There is no alternative way to turn this laptop on from what I have found. I send it to a repair shop and they actually ended up destroying the thing haha.

That is the generel issue here, people look at "spec´s" not quality... not you but in general. and then you end up with shit like this. i still remember being BARRAGED when in the older days loving my Thinkpads (T21 T30 T40 SXGA etc) i get that you could get WAY more Spec for the money, but had a lownoise, high quality laptop that was just working PERFECTLY for me.. all the time. where people that back then bought "high spec" laptops, sat in idle with a vacuum cleaner, had dead batteries, or 30min battery life, and chassies that broke within 4-5 months, and so many issues. Remember the generation of CHEAP ALDI laptops.. back 20 years ago.. MEDION i think they were called they were 50% of the laptops on our univeristy, the rest ran T30´s or X21´s

Hey everyone, jumping in on this review. I just wanted to share my experience with the MSI Sword 15 A12UCX because I'm having freezing issues while gaming (Valorant and Assassin's Creed Valhalla) too.
    Here's what happened to me:
Bought the laptop and got freezing on the second day of playing.
Thought it was a fluke, but it's happening more frequently now (over 5 times).
Took it back to the store:
First, they did a clean format (reinstall of Windows). No change.
Then, they swapped my 2x 8GB RAM for a single 16GB RAM. Still froze.
Finally, they sent it to MSI for repairs, which will take 2-3 weeks.
My concern is similar to yours - will they just fix it and send it back, or will I get a replacement? Honestly, a repaired laptop wouldn't give me much peace of mind.
If anyone else has had similar experiences with this model or gotten a replacement, please chime in!

MUX switch, gsync, adaptive sync support are widely available across Asus. But it's somewhat heavy software that does most things performance. It even reports fan noise according to Asus lab measurements. Prioritising build quality and balanced value, Asus seems to be best choice for me. I am literally watching this from an MSI 15. The issues that I have is the screen turning off and on when I plug/unplug the power cord. Also the keyboard is shit, the paint around the letters is chipping off and a whole ass key broke off (I did not drop it or anything, I treat my electronics like they are my babies). Also when I got it the ram was having issues and I had to replace it myself. The only issue I haven't had was the hinge on the screen. Though depending on the velocity of setting it down the screen bends back on its own. Also it heats up like crazy so if you do buy it be prepared to hear the loud ass fans (my family literally complains whenever I have to ramp it up). Overall it's an overpriced piece of crap.

the screen seems to be normal as some laptops are programmed to drop from their high refresh rate to a lower refresh rate when on battery power, not sure how it is on MSI but on my asus i can turn that function off so it remains on high refresh

actually the bravo 15 r7 5800h rx5500m is my best laptop purchase ever, initially i bought it to replace my good ol dell inpiron 14r 5421 but when i receive the laptop, i unbox it enthusiastically, open it to set up windows then immediately went "nope this not gonna last, heck my decade ol dell has wayyyy better quality than this", turn it off, place an ad on marketplace, 3 weeks later its sold plus i got profit. best laptop purchase ever.

Got my GF66 Katana with i5 and 3060 back in October 2022 for 800€ as I started studying and needed the performance for media production and it was the cheapest Laptop with more than 4 GB Vram.
While it is painful to see one's financial decisions critiqued, it is indeed true that this Laptop is to be avoided, I already had to send mine in because of a dead gpu after 11 months of usage. Thankfully everything was covered under warranty, but this in addition to the bad build quality doesn't inspire any confidence.

Why review MSI again if it's obvious the costs are cut with the blade, sword or whatever katanas their manufacturing plant uses instead of precision tools designed for these purposes.
How about some mouse and keyboards reviews? G403 has longevity issue with lots of people reporting double clicking in period of first 1-12 months. Had few G403s and no problems so far(but broken scrollwheel in 3 years), form and features are flawless.

Too warm people it's bad. Also Logitech will always have double click issues in their mid range mice. It's a given unless you buy newer ones.

      @@muhammedyaseen1404 It's pretty good bro. It's Underrated.
This is my honest review of my MSI laptop:
MSI SWORD A12UDX is truly a BEAST !!
I really liked this laptop. It is perfect for my gaming and editing purposes.
It is powered by 16GB of RAM(expandable upto 64GB), Intel Core i5-12450H processor and a 6GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 GPU, which handles most modern games at MAXIMUM resolution. It also has a 1TB SSD(expandable upto 2TB), which is RARE for laptops in this price range.
It has 15.6-inch FHD display with a 144Hz refresh rate, which is GOOD & FAST for gaming. It has a single colour BLUE BACKLIT keyboard. The build quality is DECENT(It's just OK).
I'm completely satisfied with this product. Only thing I would point out as negative(it is not even a negative) is about the battery life. Gaming laptops have high processor+Graphics, so ultimately it consumes more battery which is COMMON for all gaming laptops. (On playing high games, it lasts roughly 1 and half hours. If for normal use it can last upto 5 or more hours. You can increase battery life for normal use by disabling GPU, decreasing brightness, limiting CPU speed to 50% etc and change it back when gaming or when necessary)
Also, it just has a plain back but don't judge a book by it's cover.
      It's performance is just superb.
OVERALL, THIS LAPTOP IS A PERFECT GAMING LAPTOP when compared to other gaming laptops with this price range !!
