Thank you very informative. Like they say you never hear the bullet that kills you! Good example!💯🇺🇸
I work in marine construction. Across a calm bay I watch a man drive a steel drift pin into a floating log. First I see him soundlessly swing the sledge hammer. Then I hear "tank!" as the sound arrives through the water. And lastly I hear "tunk" as the sound arrives through the air.
Nice one I always wondered about this very interesting thank you
Reminds me when dove hunting and across the field you can see the doves get hit and start falling out of the shy, then you hear the shotgun blast… its pretty cool especially when duck hunting and the ducks are flying fast and real high and get hit, it can be a two or three second delay depending how far you are away from the person shooting…
Watch someone dribble a basketball from 100 yards away, pretty cool effect of sound vs what you see.
Hank is that you
wow ! nice demo ...
Thank you!
I think it would be more pronounce if you angle the camera in a way to see the flash of the bullet fired before you hear the sound, still good demonstration 👍
I thought about doing that, having the camera angled so that you would see the flash from the muzzle and then seeing the impact on the steel, but my cameras did not pick up what I was trying to record. The sun was setting to my back, and this target was about 1130 yards away.
Let me say “nice shooting.” So far I’ve only shot out to 300 yards with an AR. I’ve got a Tikka T3x in .308 that I plan on stretching the legs out on.
Very interesting
thought his frown in the thumbnail was bloodstain
thanks
200 meter distance?
This was filmed at about 1130 yards.
@@DialingLongDistance Do you mean the rifle was 1130 yds from the steel? And only half a second lag in the sound? How does that math work?
