- MileSplit was in Allen, Texas in January to catch up with Allen High School junior Jonathan Simms, who broke a world age group record for 16 year olds in August when he ran 45.12 seconds for 400 meters. That performance also broke the Texas state record, set a new sophomore class record and was an overall AAU Junior Olympic Games record. This season, Simms is back and looking to chase after his latest ambitions. Allen is the reigning UIL Texas Class 6A champion in the 400m.

He’s def gon be the fastest in the country no debate Quincy is out of the question for number 1
That’s a fact. Sad thing is Quincy gets way more recognition than him and they’re only a year apart.
@@cbands7954 why is it sad? I'm surprised I am just hearing about this amazing young student athlete. His work ethics, poise and demeanor are incredible. Quincy is probably getting more attention because of his coach, team (BULLIS) and the events he runs. Not to mention he became known when he blasted a 45 on a world stage (PEN RELAYS) at 15. I'm sure we will be hearing a lot more of these 2 equally.
they are both incredible, why hate on either of them. USA is set!!! HOWEVER Quincy just turned 16 in January. Quincy will break his U16 record this year as he has already run 45.19 in March.
I'd be scared to run into someone turning a corner lol
Lots of data show asking developing kids to wake up that early is long term detrimental to performance, academics, mood etc.
If you don't over do it, it shows kids there is a way to get things done when it seems there is no way.
Athletes are still getting way better sleep than the average teenager. Most kids are up until like one am doomscrolling TikTok, while we’re only up until 11 doomscrolling Strava
The only boy that can beat Quincy
Quincy beat him already
