Sound Design Theory: Sound Sources and Oscillators
- First episode of the Sound Design Theory series.
To make any sound you'll need 3 things:
- A sound source (a sound to process)
- Effect modules (to process the sound)
- Control modules (to add movement to the sound)
In this episode we'll focus on the first category, and more particularly on the oscillator. See how they work and the different tricks you can do with such "simple" modules.

this is by far the best intro to sound design tutorial ive watched. cheers man keep it up
Your channel is one of the most underrated channels on UA-cam in this field. It is a damn shame and not fair that you don't have several hundreds of thousands of subscribers!
Can’t believe this video series has not gone mainstream. Keep it up man, GREAT work!
This is years more advanced than I am, and I love it. Its like diving into an ocean and seeing crazy shit you've never imagined.
This is the best guide ive seen, and ive seen them all. What makes it so good is that you keep it short and simple. Ive seen videos thats 1 hour long that explains this much worse than you do here! Keep it up!
This is very helpful as someone trying to figure out how synths work. Look forward to the next one!
OMG you make it seem so simple.. you are a hero! Can't wait to watch the rest
Seriously under-appreciated channel
Well done! Looking really forward to the next part! : )
This series is so fucking good man. i'm actually learning.
Hahaha, I'm glad to read that x)
🙏 🙏 😊
thank you for doing this. it's always good to go back to basics.
Great content presented as eye-candy, I like!
Keep it up man, thanks!
thank you so much for this!!!
Thanks man!
You're a legend.
That's all I had to say
You’re a fucking legend
Can you name me the software used at 1:04?
Question: IF the ringmodulator puts out only the sum and difference, how is it possible to tune it to a certain note of the guitar audio signal that acts as the carrier?
Im kinda confused on the intervals part. I dont get what’s determining the distance of the frequencies
can someone please tell me what are the midi notes used at 4:54 ?

man, please don't Delete this.
I won't :) but if you want to download and save a video, there's a all-in-one tutorial video on my channel that gather all my sound design episodes
