    You explained so much in such a short amount of time and yet made it really easy to understand. Those tricks at the end are a great touch and a pleasant surprise I did not expect. The physical types of reverb now also make a lot more sense to me and I can actually differentiate them way better.

    I love you dude. Every tutorial of yours has been SPOT on, very intuitive and entertaining. You're one of the few channels I watch at original speed (instead of trying to get through the video in a shorter time). Amazed you're at 15k subs, but I imagine 50k is around the corner. Your videos are super unique and original. No doubt, the algorithm will bless you and more people will discover you. So... commenting and liking while you're still underground to help with that algorithm

    Great video! For spring reverb, I believe it actually twists the coil, not compressing it. Will update this when I find a reference

    • @romi9485
      @romi9485 3 місяці тому

      The sound waves travelling along the coiled wire technically twist the spring i guess? (Compressing the wire = twisting the spring)

    Doesn't predelay work differently though? 8:30
    If you imagine a room where someone claps and someone listens
    The first signal to hit the ear will be the direct, dry sound.
    Than the reflections from the walls will be heard.
    And if the time between the direct sound and the reflection is long it means that A) the walls are far away
    Or b) the listener is close to the sound?
    So a long pre delay => sounds like beint close to a sound or being in a big room
    Right?
    Edit: Nvm thet's early reflections

    • @Woochia
      @Woochia  11 місяців тому

      Imagine 2 tracks with the same sound on both. One track will have the sound dry, without reverb, and the other track will have the same sound but with a reverb 100% wet. Playing with the volume of both tracks would be like playing with a dry/wet knob, except you can put other effects on the reverb track to make it sound as you like.

  • @Tottorul
    @Tottorul Рік тому

    Does the convolution reverb need the impulse sound (short white noise sound) and the impulse response to create a the reverb profile? Is this reverb profile applicable to any sound you put through the convolution reverb? (reverb profile is probably wrong terminology)

    • @Woochia
      @Woochia  11 місяців тому

      The impulse response and the white noise sound are the same. In this example you use the white noise as a IR, it tells the reverb how to behave. Then you can use that reverb on anything

    Can't use single sample as an impulse....a single sample cannot produce a sound, it simply displaces the diaphragm.

  • @Tottorul
    @Tottorul Рік тому

    Wtf, different frequencies move at different speeds in various mediums, you just complicated and confused my understanding of music theory :P

    • @Woochia
      @Woochia  11 місяців тому

      To be more exact, all frequencies move at the same speed in a uniform medium. I think this is due to the thickness (or rather thinness) of the metal sheet. But yes, in a plate reverb, high frequencies move faster than lower ones.

  • @griffini19
    @griffini19 7 місяців тому

    This is BS. I doubt you have ever worked in a world class concert hall. No digital reverb can produce accurate early reflections. Although outboard reverbs like Quantec, Sony S777, tc M6000 and Bricasti’s are excellent. But unless you have worked with REAL spaces and outboard reverbs like I mentioned above you really don’t know the reality.
