I crochet so my son's teachers always get a cowl/scarf from me. They are always so thankful for handmade things. And when I'm at school for various things and I see his teachers, they always say "I wore your scarf to hockey last night and all the other moms were asking about it". So that makes me feel good. I get really nice acrylic yarn (no wool because of allergies) that are usually really bright fun colors at Joanns using my coupons. This year's yarn was cost me about $4 a skein. (the scarf that I picked uses only 1 skein so it's a $4 gift for me, minus my time).
Your Chanel has been huge money saver for me. I run on a tight budget because of other obligations. Yet I like to give some gifts to my kids teachers and bus drivers for their work. These small tokens of appreciation mean a lot to them. I have a budget of max 10$ for each person and am able to give some lovely gifts to them. Starbucks 10$ gift cards are a great idea.
I am terrible at DIY. Just awful. So, I think we'll do what we did last year, and get my son's teacher a $5 gift card and a nice drawing made by my son.

Great ideas, but you forgot one important gift idea.....Copy Paper!! Colored copy paper if you want to get fancy! I spend so much of my own money on copy paper!!

I also loved Christmas ornaments that a child made or picked out for me. I did love the gift cards. 1 Mom made a small dessert sized plate of pieces of cheese with crackers. It was perfect for a lunch.
that is nice but in my daughters school gift card has to be minimum $100 for teacher and jewelry for principal if not they are giving you hard time all year we have to keep paying them
I think one of the biggest messages from this video is that teachers teach because they love it and want to help kids. We're not in it for the money, I promise.

Very interesting - didn't know you were a middle school Spanish teacher! I'm a preschool teacher! I can relate to loving the kids so much that it doesn't matter and any little gift is the cutest and most appreciated thing! One of my granddaughter s teachers thought she'd be cute by telling the kids all she wanted was the moon & stars (assuming - give me nothing) . I said, you can do that! Make a mobile, sun & stars. Maybe not too practical, but creative non the less. Oh, was made out of paper plates. She hung it up in class.

I use to make English Toffee for my sons teachers.They loved it and they would hide it on their spouses.
