Nice man, this is exactly what I was hoping for. I just got my RecTec, and often do smash burgers on cast iron outside. I’m doing this on the RecTec today
OMG I’ve been grilling burgers on my Weber charcoal for 30+ years, just received my Rec Teq 700 a couple weeks ago. I followed your technique and made the best burgers ever. I was a little skeptical on squeezing the juices out of the meat but wow what a difference. I’ll only make burgers this way again, thank you so very much for the awesome video.
Good technique but if you notice after he touched all over that meat then he grabbed the spatulas and touched all over the spatulas touched all over everything not to clean but great cooking technique
That’s true if you smash both sides. The right technique is to only smash the first side. No need to smash after flipping, you’ll just lose juices that way. Try it and trust me the most juicy amazing burgers ever.
Love the balcony setup!!
Awesome! Tried and came out perfect. Great video, straight and to the point.
recteq baby!!
Great recipe....thanks so much!
What temperature did you preheat too ?
Damn man I used my sear kit once and it turned black. Should I clean it?
Looks delicious! What temp did you set your RT-700 to while grilling those smash burgers?
All the way up!!

What temp did you have the Rectec set to? How long did you let the grates preheat?
I got it to 600 or so. Took about 15 minutes or so
Wow city people can cook!? Lol
Outstanding job! Order my rectec 700 yesterday, hopefully be here by the 4th
Shit barely lol.
How long did it take start to finish with the grilling? Can I get an invite next time to that awesome balcony! haha

Holy cow bro, your patio view
is insane
Killer video man! I didn't know balcony condo peeps could grill out on their balconies. Nice RT Bull, love it.
I’m surprised you were able to keep the lid open almost the whole time. The grill grates are pretty rad, I guess.
stan_sprinkle yes. They get hot and stay hot.

Shut up!
Just bought my grill grates in the RT700 👍
OMG 🤤🤤🤤
Smashing, the perfect way to push all the juiciness out of any burger.
steak n shake, five guys, in-n-out...etc
Ignorant comments. The perfect way to confirm you're clueless.

I know you posted this 3 years ago but I hope you learned what a smash burger is and why your comment was pretty misinformed.
