If Lego used the production capacity to make those Toad houses into 3D buildings, they'd probably charge hundreds of dollars a set, because otherwise, it makes financial sense to produce an expensive set for the adult collector market vs. an active playset for kids where you bounce around a little Mario figurine and can't charge that much to parents buying one or two. 5:31 That’s because Minecraft was originally based on Legos, so it’s easier. I’m not saying making Mario into a minifig would be hard, I’m just saying Minecraft would be easier.
Cap, I just got Luigi’s starter set and it is SO MUCH MORE FUN THAN MINIFIGURES, the sound effects, lights and reactions are so fun and you’d want to play with him wherever you go, GET THE SETS ITS CRAZY.
I’m not really a Lego guy to begin with, but I literally gave all the Lego Mario sets I had to my nephews because the whole build your level thing doesn’t do anything for me. If I wanted a Lego set, I’d want one that I could build as a display piece
How they treated the mainline Lego Mario sets and some of the Animal Crossing sets makes me worry about how Nintendo/Lego is going to treat a possible Lego Zelda line. But then again, Lego could nail it like SEGA did with most of their Sonic sets, or with the adult Nintendo sets (Bowser, Deku Tree, etc.) so idk...
Bro I remember seeing the teaser for lego mario while I had an exam I was excited. Then I saw that on my screen......to say I was disappointed would be an understatement
I once had a dream where there was a Lego set that included O'Chunks from Super Paper Mario. I don't remember exactly what he looked like, but I'm pretty sure he looked much better than most of the figures in the actual Lego Mario sets.
Is that really necessary? A lot of the characters and enemies I think have been designed very, VERY well in brick-form. This is especially true of the Donkey Kong characters and the Luigi’s Mansion ghosts.
I bought the bowsers castle set thing which was VERY expensive, and I couldn't even finish building it because it was so flimsy. It was really disappointing that I spent 120 CAD for an unfinished lego set sitting in the back of my closet 😭
The Odyssey vehicle thing would be a great, smaller scale set, like maybe $30, while stuff like Peach's castle or a Bowser castle would defenitely be at least $100. Other location builds, that aren't just buildings/vehicles, are more difficult, but I'm sure they could make some really nice terrain too, full of actually fun minifigure-scale platforms. Putting the characters in action poses for display and such. Make some item boxes actually contain a small item that represents a power-up. Make variations of minifigures for different power-ups. Make certain characters, character variations, and power-ups exclusive to super expensive sets, and boom, easy money.
I think it’s fine that they’re doing those course builders, but I find it’s only for younger kids. They could make so much more money from sets like Minecraft where they choose a location with mini figures geared for an older audiences along with the course builder
I think it would be kinda funny but ironic if LEGO made a set for Super Smash Bros. based on the stages Battlefield or Final Destination, and that was the only time you would get a Mario minifigure, maybe a Luigi if you're lucky.
3:47 “we don’t have any original ips!!!” parappa the rappa, ape escape, god of war, jak and daxter, klonoa, lemmings, ratchet & clank, sly cooper, and uncharted (they’re just sleeping on their ips with no new games):
Really hoping they do a Mushroom Kingdom Castle in the same way as the Deku Tree set, minifigures and all. Also wouldn't mind black box sets for the other big Nintendo series as well.
@@benmalsky9834 I find that Minifigs make it so you can combine as many worlds as you want. I can give Baymax the Infinity Gauntlet and no one can stop me. It's that kind of thing. Mario Minifigures would mesh with the wide world of Lego instead of the ones we have now.
@@mysterybox2817 You SERIOUSLY need to see what people have done with MOCS, or My Own Creations. Lego minifigures are not the only thing that makes Lego, well, Lego.
A problem I have with the Lego Mario sets are that you can’t really set them up on shelves or desks. This isn’t a problem at all for most normal legos, but these are not only flimsy, large, but also ugly.
K'nex made Mario Minifigures and they looked pretty good. Their only downside was not being fully compatible with LEGO pieces. They could attach to studs but that's about it. So I was excited when they announced official LEGO Mario, but instead of Minifigures, we just got some Duplo looking thing
Good video! On your point about how Mario characters should translate fine enough into the mini-figure style, keep in mind that characters such as Rex, Ham, Jabba the Hutt, and the Rancor that don't fit the "human shape" mold look great so the same can be argued for certain Mario characters. However, if we ever were to be blessed with a proper Lego Mario set, Yoshi better not be given the human shape mold so that Mario is able to ride on him!
Hey, I’m Dry Bones and I’m glad my biggest fan who literally had a seizure when he saw me in the Mario Movie posted a new video. Also I’m definitely the REAL Dry Bones.
I have some sets of Lego Super Mario and I think that Lego mario is so unique and fun to play. If you have a mini figure, you haven't got any interaction. Also, The Mario Bros series is based on levels, yes there are some 3d games but Mario is a platforming game. I am not a hater I like your videos but I needed to talk about these things. Thanks 👍
While I haven't brought a lot of the Mario sets, the ones I did mostly have a focus on Yoshi, for obvious reasons. I even brought the Bowser car because it was cool. Oh, and next on my list are the Bowser train and Yoshi on the Yoshi Bike.

Well said. This whole course builder thing would've been great as a duplo or junior targetted thing while keeping regular sets of iconic Mario locales for adults. The fact that you need to hook the figure to an app to get it to work alone is a dealbreaker for me. Most adults I know that bought it used it once or twice and left it to collect dust for years to come. Even as a display piece the mario figure looks like a fanmade 3d print. Such a missed opportunity imo

5:31 That’s because Minecraft was originally based on Legos, so it’s easier. I’m not saying making Mario into a minifig would be hard, I’m just saying Minecraft would be easier.
Dawg imagine if we get Kirby mini figures before Mario then that’s proof Nintendo has forgotten about Mario.
1:04 was really expecting a jumpscare there, Softies.
Cap, I just got Luigi’s starter set and it is SO MUCH MORE FUN THAN MINIFIGURES, the sound effects, lights and reactions are so fun and you’d want to play with him wherever you go, GET THE SETS ITS CRAZY.
Even if Mario didn't work as a proper lego minifigure, he would be fantastic as a lego duplo figure.
The closest to a minifigure Mario will ever have is K'Nex, and while I miss them, it's weird they are still the closest.
Anyone remember the Mario K’nex play sets, there were many minifigures from the Mario series that look really good
They’re pretty cool. I remember having so much fun playing with the Mario Kart sets and trying to collect the different minifigures.
3:33 What was bro doing to bowser Jr 💀
Excessive violence.

Stomping his shell

2:45: this is why I unsubscribed from you
We've gotta call Nathaniel B to deal with this lego freaks
LEGO Mario would actually be good if there was a Thwimp in the style of the Piranha Plant and Bowser sets. Love those little guys.
So true, also hi green! :3
There should be one in the future. They’ve been REALLY GOOD at representing the vast array of Mario enemies in the line.
I really wish the theme was like what you speculated in your original video, I remember being so excited to get mini figures!
Why are minifigures a dealbreaker?
10:45 they recently started including Instructions in the box as of Jan 2024
One of my favorite Lego sets I own are the Question Mark block set and the Bowser set. They are very cool.
(That’s all I have to say)
Bro I remember seeing the teaser for lego mario while I had an exam I was excited. Then I saw that on my screen......to say I was disappointed would be an understatement

I once had a dream where there was a Lego set that included O'Chunks from Super Paper Mario. I don't remember exactly what he looked like, but I'm pretty sure he looked much better than most of the figures in the actual Lego Mario sets.
@@Avatar-fc2qi The actual Lego Mario sets DO LOOK GOOD!! Stop with the slander!
LEGO needs to make official Mario Minifigures in the future, instead of course builder or custom/knock off versions.
Is that really necessary? A lot of the characters and enemies I think have been designed very, VERY well in brick-form. This is especially true of the Donkey Kong characters and the Luigi’s Mansion ghosts.
@@benmalsky9834In my opinion, some other Mario characters such as the electronic figures look too blocky which doesn’t look like Minifigures.
@@BrickMeisterZ If they do look blocky, that just makes them more fitting because it’s Lego.
I bought the bowsers castle set thing which was VERY expensive, and I couldn't even finish building it because it was so flimsy. It was really disappointing that I spent 120 CAD for an unfinished lego set sitting in the back of my closet 😭
@@Zackattack3055 I suggest you finish building it and it will be worth it.
@@benmalsky9834 I can't, it can't hold all the piece without breaking and I might be missing some pieces. So yeah, still in my closet. 😭😭😭
@@Zackattack3055 You can do it. And on be you do it will have been worth it.
Really good video! The humor and music placements are really well done and im enjoying watching this even though its not really my niche
Finding MARIO's purpose in Space Colony Ark would be mysteriously helpful with Sonic and Amy. So excited for the premiere!
I think it’s fine that they’re doing those course builders, but I find it’s only for younger kids. They could make so much more money from sets like Minecraft where they choose a location with mini figures geared for an older audiences along with the course builder
It’s NOT just for younger kids. Adults can really enjoy some of them, especially the airships and vehicles.
0:06 Nathaniel bandy brings back memories
I think it would be kinda funny but ironic if LEGO made a set for Super Smash Bros. based on the stages Battlefield or Final Destination, and that was the only time you would get a Mario minifigure, maybe a Luigi if you're lucky.

“we don’t have any original ips!!!”
parappa the rappa, ape escape, god of war, jak and daxter, klonoa, lemmings, ratchet & clank, sly cooper, and uncharted (they’re just sleeping on their ips with no new games):
Most of which were just featured in a decently liked 3d plattformer as cameos: yeah, we definitely don't have any IPs.
@@LG555Decently liked? You mean highly acclaimed.
Not really "sleeping", more like trying to turn said IPs into something they aren't... 👀
Nitpick: THE LEGO MARIO APP TAKES SO LONG TO DOWNLOAD
Really hoping they do a Mushroom Kingdom Castle in the same way as the Deku Tree set, minifigures and all. Also wouldn't mind black box sets for the other big Nintendo series as well.
Are minifigures REALLY necessary for your satisfaction? I’m fine with literally anything they do.
@@mysterybox2817 True, but the same can be said for Lego bricks. They are meant to be combined with anything as well.

Yes you can for some of them.
For a lot of the characters, they ARE very well done and they DO look good on the shelf or desk.

Thanks 👍
We have moved on from odyssey central making videos about games and he also do Lego videos again
While I haven't brought a lot of the Mario sets, the ones I did mostly have a focus on Yoshi, for obvious reasons. I even brought the Bowser car because it was cool.
Oh, and next on my list are the Bowser train and Yoshi on the Yoshi Bike.
I really hope we get official minifigures for mario at some point, considering we have lego sonic, minecraft, animal crossing and zelda, it would be perfect for a super smash bros display
I personally have both the NES set and the ? block. they are great display sets with some play features to boot.

You do realize that most of the sets do work well without the app.
Or maybe you’re like me and committed to playing with them every day for years because you genuinely love them so much.
I only own the Lego NES, and it’s one of my all-time favourite sets for LEGO. I may also get the Piranha Plant one for… obvious reasons.

Lego Mario makes me so sad when comparing it to the other videogame lines that got lego sets (Sonic, Minecraft, Animal Crossing and Zelda as the main examples) since they represent their brands so well. The way Mario is handled in Lego just saddens me
I got a Luigi Minifig at Comic Con, and it shows that it CAN WORK
I do enjoy some of these sets. I've taken some of the recognizable places like peaches castle, bowsers castle, Mario's house, Yoshis house, and DKs house and modified them to work at minifigure scale. And they all look pretty fantastic and fit with my fake figures really well.
