    Man, who knew that lawn care would cost me this much. So far I think I spent over $500 to fix my lawn, buying seeds, fertilizer, aeration tools, liquid aeration, humic acid, milorganite, spreaders, sprayers, weed killers, tenacity, electric cultivator, compost, peat moss, etc. That doesn't count all the watering and man hours either. Hopefully, next year it will be a lot cheaper and less work once the lawn is established. I hope.

    • @LawnAmateur
      @LawnAmateur  3 роки тому +3

      Yea man lol it starts out very expensive just because you have to purchase all the tools to get the job going but year after year the cost goes down because you will already have everything necessary for the job. Only thing you may need is grass year to year. I hope you have success with your lawn and thank you for your support

    Looking good there! Hey that is the one that I been working with bro👍 That Humic, Kelp, and Green Envy. So far so good with those products from GS Plant, I am happy with the brand it has revived my backyard. I used the brand Lawn “Simple Lawn Solutions” and the GS Plant seems to be a better value. Good luck with it I am sure you will find a new go to brand with GS Plant. 🙏Stay Blessed🙏

      Just checking in to see how this is doing so far, I am sure that (N) has exploded while using the GS brand humic. I have tried other brands such as GCF (N-Ext) Humic12 and GS Plant is on par with them. I like GS because if you just need a small dose you can just buy what you need at that time instead of a huge “$100” pack of products that are on standby or bulk. If you ever get to using GreenEnvy from GS Plant I been using it all Spring in my bad back yard and I must say I am impressed. My back yard was stressed and not so healthy. It is holding up and here we been going through high heat and slight drought. Stay Blessed🙏Stay Safe😷

    Humic acid has all kinds of benefits. 👍🏽 I tried this brand and I was not convinced but that could have been just me and not the product, but it is pricey. If you are not being sponsored I'll say switch to a different brand. I switch to what is probably the most popular brand in UA-cam, paid around $100 for five gallons. Others use powder and that's even cheaper, just add water, but I have not tried it.

      @LawnAmateur  4 роки тому

      I actually got some of the Anderson that I'm going to try soon. I also see alot of people using those N-ext products so I'm getting curious about them. How were the results for you?

    • @steviem5279
      @steviem5279 4 роки тому

      @J Clark for some reason your reply shows up on the notifications and not the entire reply and it doesn't show up on the video page itself, no worries. I think there is a video of some guy out in Utah who has used Humic DG and he said the results are great. He dug up a hole at one spot in his backyard and the soil is great 10 inches down and that's when you began to see his clay soil appear so. I looked up some of the N-ext proucts but they are pricey but they do seem to go a long way too so thats a good thing as well. There is a new store near me that opened up a few months back called "Ewing irrigation" and they sell a lot of the The Anderson's products...I purchased the fertilizer with the pre-emergent barricade and it worked very well, no grab grass but I do have weeds that are a pain, especially clover. I'm going to give the Humic DG a shot and use it a few times and see how it works.

    • @teamclarktrackfield
      @teamclarktrackfield 4 роки тому +1

      @@@LawnAmateur. This is my first season using the N-ext products. I purchased the Bio-Stimulant package (Humic12, RGS, Microgreene, and Air8), 4 gallons total package, around $105.00-$110.00. That is their (Green County Fertilizer) "Intro" or "Starter" package to give a good mix of products to use. The buyer only has the choices of 4 gallons, or 5 gallons (2ea 2.5 gal) options. So far, the jury is still out regarding results. I can say that my lawn seems to be in much better shape this season as compared to this time last year, which could be proof that the N-ext products help.

    • @steviem5279
      @steviem5279 4 роки тому

      @@teamclarktrackfield No worries at all. It sounds like the Bio-Stimulant package could actually be working for you and then it makes the investment worth it for sure. I have to try some of these for sure, just something different from the regular routine. I started working on my lawn last year after years of neglect and I'm trying different things but the one thing I do have to do is a soil test just to see what needs improving and what doesn't. Last year I did this: Mid-March: put down granular lime. Then mid-April starter fert and seeding (wasn't the smartest idea to see in the spring because the spring and summer were wet). Memorial Day I put down Milorganite, mid-June the grub control...I looked it up and July I did the "Love your soil" by Jonathan Green and combined it with Ringers Lawn Restore. Then around mid-August I actually cut the grass low, then I took my thatch rake and dethatched the lawn, and I had 8 garbage bags full of the dead material (the construction bags). Labor Day milorganite and mid-September got some top soil and started to overseed (this helped) and then in November I put down the Scotts Winter fert.
      This year, so far: March I put down granular lime. April was the Andersons Fertilizer with Baracade. Begining of May Grub Ex and also sprayed with the bioadvanced liquid fugus control. Memorial Day it was the Milorganite and last week Disease Ex by Scotts for the fungus at the curative levels. Next week if its not too hot I will spray down one more round of the bioadvanced fungus control and for the fourth of July I will do the Jonathan Green Summer survival (I want to give this a try) along with Jonathan Green "Love your soil." After that i will figure it out again, I think I will cut low in August and dethatch again and then get the Andersons starter fert for Memorial day and overseed. I've never aerated so I might do that before the fert and overseeding in September but if the liquid aerate actually works then I think I might go that rout instead and do it regularly or try the Anderson's Humic DG just to see how it works. November one last round of Milo and then next spring similar routine with the Lime but will try and experiement with different things in the Spring just to see what works and what doesn't.

  • @steviem5279
    @steviem5279 4 роки тому +2

    I've never tried humic acid but I will give it a go. Last year I did try "Love Your Soil" from Jonathan Green which they say has "humates" in it that loosens the soil and promotes stronger roots. But its a granular product that you have to water in to activate and I put that down the same time I put down the Milorganite last summer in July. I honestly cannot say whether that helped or not because I only used it once and I am going to give it a try again around the fourth of July and will try the Jonathan Green "Summer Survival" with it. Considering I started to take care of the lawn again last year, I'm experimenting here and there to see what works. But keep the videos coming, they are great and fun to watch...

    • @teamclarktrackfield
      @teamclarktrackfield 4 роки тому +1

      @Stevie M....It’s kind of pricey, but I tried the Humic DG from the Andersons. It’s very easy to spread and breaks down quickly. I have been taking care of my lawn for 4 years this year. The first two years were not good, but the last two have been better. When I started to keep a log of my activity (mowing, fert applications, etc.), I found that I was making less mistakes. Also, I stepped up my soil test game, did more reading and research on products, and used good old fashioned patience. Good luck 2 u 👍🏽

      You should, it has micos and helps the grass retain water that will help it get through harsh dry summer months. It actually makes the pores of the grass blade smaller so that less moisture is lost via evaporation during the summer months, I don't know where you are, but in the DMV, (DC, Maryland, and Virginia), it gets dry, hot, and humid.
