I really wonder what happened to Amandil. I mean he did break the Ban of the Valar but he did so for good reasons and intentions. My headcannon is that Amandil reached Aman and warned the Valar and the Elves. That's probably why the city of Tirion was already empty when the Numenoreans marched upon it. I wish Amandil was allowed to live the rest of his days with the Eldar on Tol Eressea where the Master-Stone abode. I think the last Lord of Andunie succeeded in his task and enjoyed some peace before accepting the Gift of Men. Great video by the way, Tolkien Lore!
@22:24 "Things are about to go downhill really fast." After 25 parts to this summary of the Silmarillion... I expect nothing less lol.. Also, I'm curious, what do you think about the upcoming Amazon series? From what I hear it's going to be set in the 2nd Age which seems...riff for good stories, but I'm wondering just how far into lore they're going to go?
I’m keeping an open mind on the subject because there’s multiple ways they could go with it, but my main fear is that they tell a story that isn’t true to Tolkien, which seems all too likely given the state of our culture and the fact that it’s Amazon producing it....
Sauron served as the High Priest of the Cult of Melkor. This has always fascinated me, but I wonder if there are other priestly castes? Perhaps there are Melkorist priests in Middle earth that continued to worship Melkor after the Downfall
Hey, great video series! Do you think Peter Jackson(although I cannot seen any other filmmaker do it justice but him) or anybody else will make film out of Silmarillion; it would be awesome if it happend ofc, if the the Tolkien Family approves it that is. We now got the TV series comeing, and it's beyond great tbh! But it would be even greater if we got films about the fantastic legendarium. We can only hope ofc. Or, maybe it's better of not filmed, as we can continue make up our own images of thoughts around what Tolkien wrote. I am a bit split on this question, but if they can do as good a job as they did on LOTR, then im sure we are in good hands. Keep up the good work!
If it ever happens I think it would probably be as a series by one of the big streaming services. It doesn’t lend itself to film adaptation. But I doubt it’ll ever be tried
If Tolkien had written nothing else except his tales of Númenór (including Aldarion and Erendis), he could have been rightly praised for a huge work of pseudo-historical legend.
Thank you for this synopsis and resume of the chapters. You, sir, are a legend.
The imitation of Sauron at 23:54 I love it!
