Your both just being dramatic the Numenor storyline is fine actually nothing really bad about that part even in season 2 it’s actually interesting. The Harfoot/Saruman storyline is getting kinda boring honestly but that’s about it
It's sad to see the early complaints of the Numenoreans. "Why not go and greet our friends?" It's like a child wondering why they can't visit their grandparents who live five hours drive away, and their parents having to explain that they're busy doing the stuff that puts food on the table. To think some innocent questioning was the start to a slide into the worst fall in literature since Paradise Lost. Also, its fascinating to consider how the Numenoreans helped men to advance and start pushing back the darkness. I see a lot of fanart and speculation based on their adventuring or the last years under Ar-Pharazôn, but I wouldn't mind something of them teaching the ancestors of the Bree men and Rohirrim how to cut wood or ride horses.
I honestly don't think that people realise that middle earth is only one part of a much larger world. Middle Earth is just one continent, in the same way that the European continent is referred to now. It is unfortunate, because so many more stories could be made regarding the world that Tolkien created. From what I can make of it, this entire work, is a remake, a reimaging of real myths, like King Arthur and his knights, and Atlantis, all roped together into a new story.
Thank you ! The map at 14:31 is magnificent. It is the first map that I see that seems real and gives a feel of the dimensions. As if one was looking down from far above ... where can I find it?
What is the correct design then? Maybe even Christopher Tolkien draw the "world map" several times (and, of course, the map of Beleriand in the First Age in isolation at least once). Of course there are versions of the map that make logical sense more than others, but maybe it's just difficult if not impossible to establish any "final" authoritative version. Considering that in the canon, the entire shape of the world is upheaved after the fall of Numenor, which demands a gigantic suspension of disbelief (one does not simply change a rigid plane into a sphere without completely messing up the distances and angles; even a torus would be doable but not a sphere), I wouldn't be too concerned about the total accuracy of the maps in the first place. That is: a map of 1st age Middle Earth (or a sufficiently large part of it) for instance cannot work even as a starting point for a 3rd Age map, precisely because of the sheer impossiblility of the geometrical transformation 😀
The people of Valinor will probably fear losing their jobs, thence the ban of Valar. I think (almost unironically) that that would be an improvement of the story. In Tolkien's version the Valar are just being racist pricks with no further explanation but "you know, the command of Iluvatar (source: trust me bro)" At that time, Men of Middle-Earth see undying Elves too and can equally well become jealous about their gifts - isn't that a problem? Furthermore, the separate land of Valinor wasn't in the original designs of the Valar in the first place, but followed from the destruction of the Lamps which messed up the original pangaea. Even the fact that Melkor was going to be a very naughty boy wasn't accounted for by the Valar. Their original vision was for the whole world to be a hallowed and pleeasant place just like Valinor.

Whimsical comment nevertheless....the maps and charts and images are beautifully put together, and made me relive the magic of Akallabeth.
Thanks
😉
In the last month I have been binging the works of all middle earth, and Mate, this is a complete bliss
Thank you, thank you 😊

I love that you used the video game as visual aid 😁
😊
This is truly the best audiobook I’ve listened to, rivaled only by the audio dramas of the Original Star Wars Trilogy. 👍 God Bless 🙏🏻
Thank you 🙂

It just breaks my heart knowing how amazing the story is, and how they ruined it in rings of power😢
So true 😶

I like the "Noah's arc" story how one family was saved at the end of Numenor
:)
The fact that the Valar blatantly cheated by calling on the big brother to help against Ar-Pharazon is such a downer.
🤷🏻
How they cheated? the Valar didnt want to harm children of illuvatar
Thank you.❤
You are welcome 🙂
Breathtaking

I love your work and thanks to you i beloved the silmarilion. I wonder, do you plan on making your version of the rings of power and the third age?
No, I will only stay with the books 🙃
@@PamkoElessarthe rings of power and the third age is in the books
Thank you for staying true to the heart of Tolkien. The movies strayed too much, imo
The map of Beleriand at the start is so innacurate, it was never that big. That's just a recent thing people are doing and I have no idea why.
🤷🏻

The Atlas of Middle-earth
Map Quest
can't wait to see how rings of power handles this story. by handle i of course mean: misunderstand and completely fuck it up
😂😂
