GCSE Chemistry - Reactivity Series of Metals & Displacement Reactions #37
Вставка
- Опубліковано 13 чер 2024
- When metals react they lose their outermost electrons. This video covers which metals are the most and least reactive & also how we can determine reactivity by reacting them with acids and water. Then at the end we cover displacement reactions of metals.
If you’d like to practise the material covered in this video, check out our platform at www.cognitoedu.org - it's totally free, and has been built to make learning and revision as easy as possible. The main features are:
- Lessons organised by topic, only the lessons relevant to your specific exam board and tier are shown.
- Automatic progress tracking. Progress bars tell you what you’re doing well at, and what you need to spend some time on.
- Practise quizzes so you can test your knowledge. You can quiz yourself on any combination of topics you like.
- A huge number of fully-hinted questions that take you step-by-step through some of the trickiest calculations & concepts.
- A comprehensive bank of past exam papers, organised both by year, and also by topic.

I am 46 years old and refreshing my GCSE chemistry knowledge before taking on a new job, thank you so much for this, I now understand this in a much clearer way than when I sat my exams
you're so a hardworking person.
Shut the fuck up both of yous, because no one fucking asked
@@jamiewallace3546 no one asked you comment either
@@jamiewallace3546 oh, I was scared. Really scared
@@jamiewallace3546 Watch your language big man. Think you're so tuff. No one asked to see how big u r.
PLEASE : Pottasium
STOP : Sodium

GOLD : Gold
hope this helps
Thanks, i used to have something way worse pre schools can make awesome classes and the rest I just learned
lol tyyy
You forgot lithium
Okay a STAY helping me learn chemistry 😭😭💜💜
Babes where Lithium tho?
your so underrated
Chaima Moali hes better than free science lessons
Rowan Hebblethwaite nah they’re the same, each of them have their own strengths and limitations in each different topics. Thanks to both of them, i learn more from them than in school
@@jonathanaliesaputra5075 you're right

@Momoo and you’re so illiterate
you are my lifesaver, don’t think i’ve ever watched so many videos from one channel in a span of weeks!!
rightt
Iam the 1k like. Proud to be a Cognito member.
Thank you so much for this video You absolutely SAVED my life
Your videos are so simple to understand unlike how it is taught in my school..thx again
literally thanks
What a clear explanation, very precise! Thank you!!
I'm really enjoying this simple explanation, using it to help my friends children with GCSE chemistry! Thank you.
i thought this topic is gigantic and i will never get this topic and i wont know anything, that has changed because of you, thank you very very much, much love 😁
Ah that's awesome to hear Nahu, glad everything is making more sense now 👍
Wow! it feels like only yesterday your channel was at 247k, keep up the good work!
Highly appreciated work
Thankkkk you so much in the whole term this video made me understand it instantly.
You make complicated things simple and easy to absorb by ordinary child brains. Thanks!
thank you man, you made it so simple
same here lol
lol same
I love how chaotic the thumbnail is
Thank you! I need to be able to identify them with only a periodic table and so far most videos have a pre-made list. Thank you so much for explaining!!!
Thank you soo much for making these videos the way you do
it really helps give a vivid image of what your trying to explain to us
You helped us all, the only things I wish for on my birthday are a gaming mouse and more videos from you. Keep up the good work!
Aw thanks Mustafa, hope you get them both 😉🥳
Did you get the gaming mouse ?
One year later and we still don't know if he got the gaming mouse.
May god bless you .... way better than my tchr 😢❤
I literally love you right now
thank you so much for the video it helped me in my end of year exams
Brilliant video mate, Now i can do my homework! :D
your channel is amazing.
GAAAAAHHH THANK YOU SO MUCHHHH I LITERALLY DIDNT THIS TOPIC AT ALL BUT NOW I GOT IT
lol i love how u roast copper like that
I WISH THIS MAN WAS MY TEACHER!!! HE IS AWESOME! MY CHEMISTRY TEACHER IS WORTHLESS COMPARED TO HIM!
This vid is SOOOO good thank you
Thank you So much, this video was very helpful and I learnt a lot.
Thanks Helindu, glad we could help 😊
You so much you are making my life easier from these videos❤
@Cognito, you are the best! You have helped me learn about nearly everything I need to know for common entrance exams! Thank you! Keep doing this! 😀
Glad to hear we could help!
Very lucid explanation. Good job.
If everyone watched your UA-cam videos they would pass all subjects in under a year
Thank you so much this video helped a lot!!
Thank u so much for this vid I now understand much better ❤
my chemistry exam is the day after tmrw, thank you so much
Great video
The lucidity of explanation 🖤🖤🖤🖤
It really helped
Thank youuu
I've learned about single and double displacement reactions but I was thinking if triple displacement is possible?
If yes! then how is it decided which element displaces the other??? when there are two metals the element can displace????
I was trying to find out about the same and I came across an equation:
2 AgNO3 + 2 NaCl + K2CrO4 → Ag2CrO4 + 2 NaNO3 + 2 KCl
what type of reaction is this???
But why did Silver, in the above equation displaced Potassium and not Sodium?? How is it decided who displaces whom???
Please help!!!
in the exam they ask me about what observations i made during displacement reactions, i have a new exam coming up so do you have a video on that, like on reactions that would tell us like the colour change and everything observable?
You just saved my test
thank you!
Thank you 😊
Why does the order of decreasing reactivity differ from the decreasing metallic properties so often ?
Ionization only differs a few times but reactivity isn't the same. Normally I had expected that the reactivity series would match (reverse) with the order of ionization energy (as the tendency of releasing electrons depends on ionization energy)
Hey Thanks again sir. The video really helped me and you really gave me the idea of displacement reactions. But can you please give a deeper understanding about them. But again thanks for the video. You should have like 1billion subs.
TYSSSSSSSSSM
Thanks
THANKKK UUUU I LUVVVV UUUU
Calcium needs to be 2+ when an ion on the first slide.
thxxx
2:37.....should have been same no. Of moles rather than mass👍🏼👍🏼
Cognito, I know this will seem strange, but is it alright if I have used your picture of the reactivity series of metals in my video( 0:08 ). I have credited it to you in my description.
Yep that's okay
Awesome lecture sir
thumbs up!!!
Broo you r the best
Thank you so much for the support :))
But I thought that magnesium is more reactive than calcium, me and my teacher did this in school
Thanks, mate!
this is a selective list right?
Please - Potassium
Stop - Sodium
Calling - Calcium
Me - Magnesium
A - Aluminum
Careless - Carbon
Zebra - Zinc
Instead - Iron
Try - Tin
Learning - Lead
How - Hydrogen
Copper - Copper
Saves - Silver
Gold - Gold
You’ve earned a new subscriber my friend
Awesome, thank you!
Silver and Gold are not covered in the reactivity series is this video but it is still a good video
Wow good job how do you do these videos I think that you are not a human 😳😳😳
