4:44 you can actually skip the second overhead smash on your triangle combo, if you time it right. So you sidesmash, make a direction input, wait a tiny little bit more than you think and press triangle again to skip the overhead smash and go straight into that offset - upswing. That is propably the fastest way to get to your offset attack, but unfortunately you cant hold/"charge" the upswing, when you do it like that

Just please tell me that weapon workshop will return for Wilds, even if in simplified form (so basically like this, just little more detailed). We really dont need turbo flashy intros and stuff. We just want all the cool info like highest dmg combos, tips and trcisk not mentioned in weapon guide etc.

I think they need to add l little more options with your circle (the one that does the big bang attack) It only seems usable when a monster is downed. And isnt as efficient as doing golf swing into power swing.
The offset being in the combo actually works really well, doshaguma who I struggle with the most is countered hard with the offset in the regular combo. Don’t need to charge hardly ever just regular combo and offset
Oh another note for the Mighty Charge being used as a follow-up. I found that if i held R2 right after i press and hold for offset upswing befpre the animation ends then all i have to do is press 🔺️ + 🔵 because my fingure was already holding R2.
If you side smash at the start of your basic combo instead of overhead smash you are able to skip the second hit of the combo by walking forward a bit and then pressing triangle. Makes it a bit easier to time the offset
That's actually a bug. Only happens after changing your secondary weapon on the tent. It's impossible to do if you try to do it directly after loging to your character

Hammer is so complicated now. It used to be a very user friendly weapon. Now there's so many button combinations to use and sequences to use them in. I feel like it's very hard to master the hammer now.
Hammer is getting more a more complex with time. Sure, you can always play it like old times, but if you want to be great at playing it now you have a pretty high skill floor. As a HH main I think hammer will be in my pocket 😂
I got curious and slowed down the video during the Mighty Charge and it looks like the Hunter has to break a wrist and an elbow to perform that move lmao
Hammer is really cool, didn't know you could actually charge thr golf swing and and that you can access it from the spin atk. Still tho its lame that this offset is locked behind a combo. While other weapons has access to their offset atk whenever. I actually didn't really like the spin in world and wilds but i see more value to it now. I also didn't like the mighty charge atk, it seem to have too long animation commitment. Besides that hammer is really cool and fun but im probably gonna main hbg tho.

all attacks while mounted can make wounds (im pretty sure, havent tried with lights), just the heavier the attack the quicker the wound and the more dmg per hit. generally I have found 2-3 r1 hits make a wound, with it taking 3-4 triangles
@@Andy32410 the games are designed around using a controller. Capcom, makers of Street fighter, are all about their button combos and attack combinations. This is way harder to do with a kbm and not joysticks and pad buttons. It's just more natural and easier to play these games on controllers.
After playing with the hammer it feels like a down grade from the previous games less optimal play styles just spam mighty as soon as you can Especially lv3 charge, slam is such a bad move they should allow it to follow it up with a mighty charge after it to make it more visible to use
Yeah I'm having mixed feelings as well even though I still love using it during the beta. Big Bang in my opinion is obsolete since golf swing into mighty charge does already great damage plus you can reposition afterwards. And ledge hopping and sliding also got nerfed to the ground not viable at all. I would also like Big Bang to be completed into a mighty charge.
The "Offset" properties on any Upswing is just... chef's kiss.
One of the funnest additions to any of the weapons moveset.

Damn I wish I saw this before the beta closed. Hammer was my main in Rise, but I had trouble figuring it out in Wilds.
Didn't get to play the beta as much as I wanted but dang... gave me enough of a taste that the wait till release is going to be painful.

If you dodge while charging you can combo into charged step which keeps the charge level from before dodge!

clash attack is only for weapons with guard counter, so charge blade, gun lance, etc.
The amount of headaches and dizziness a hunter would have from spinning the hammer using the mighty charge would be insane.
