Thanks for the interesting video! I love my 718 Boxster, but DIY servicing is a real pain. Even an oil change is a big hassle, and changing a headlamp requires removing the front bumper. For a car that can be maintained and serviced at home, IMHO the 997.2 Carrera S is the best buy, with good examples at around $50k here in the USA.
Thanks for watching 😄. DIY servicing on a 718? Do you just do extra oil changes or all the servicing yourself? Yeh agreed on the 997C2S, probably one of the best 911’s they made but I weirdly prefer the look of the C4S!
Whereas in Australia it’s rare and reduces the value of any vehicle if service is DIY instead of dealer. In fact even independent service centres are regarded as a set back. Dealer service costs are reasonable and generally fixed price. Porsche has fixed price. If a Porsche is valued for sale and books aren’t genuine it can reduce value by 5%.
Hi Hugo, to drive the 997 is a better car but I personally prefer the look of the 996 especially the rear 😍 so that would be my choice. You won’t go wrong with either though!
Fast forward 11 months and 981’s have gone up a fair bit. Just sold mine for what I paid 3 yrs ago from a dealer. Now have a 2018 718S.. what a car!
That’s good going for 3 years motoring! That’s the only thing I’d change mine for, the S or a GTS, amazing car!
Just before lockdown I took a 987 for a spin, very cool and I will add one to my garage soon, cheers from new Zealand...
Good choice and great value, I lived in New Zealand for just under a year - beautiful place 😍
Nutts On Cars it sure is a great place , cheers
great video thanks. what would you advise as an entry daily 911?
Thanks for the interesting video!

Why would you DIY? The value of Porsche is reduced when the service books are not stamped by a recognised service centre.
@@richardcatchlove9115 I think it’s a lot more common for people to DIY service expensive cars in the US.

996 4S Wide body! 👍🏻
😍
Great video. You have another subscriber! Looking to buy my first Porsche in early 2021. What is your opinion on the 996 40th Anniversary?
Very good points and video
550 Spyder for the win! If anyone has one I have and original brochure 🙌🏻

Wow such a great video!!! New drinking game idea: have a shot every time he says the word special. I’m rather tipsy now so I may order one of each.
Hahahaha you’re a nightmare, I’m special
Please have a poll. For me 993 looks. 996 Turbo value
Yeh I don’t think it gets prettier than a 993 does it!
Some great shouts especially the 3.2 super sport and the 986 s anniversary!
Yeh both a bit special lad
Wouldn’t mind our Nut’s colliding 😉
Great video- so much info 👍🏻
Haha thanks Claire
That hair cut :)
Self isolation has its side effects 🤪
Have u heard anything about the next generation cayman/boxster whether they will have the 6 cylinders or will that just be for the 718 4.0 GTS cars
Nothing official yet, I imagine it will be 6 cylinder based on the fact the 4 has been a bit of a flop
What do you think about the 996 C4S Cabrio Manual? A good choice? Or you would go for a 997 cabrio carrera tip? Thanks!

Should i buy a 986 boxter in tiptronic.is the tiptronic reliable?
The 986 can be a little but tricky so expect a couple of unexpected bills but definitely don’t let it put you off, go get one :)
Yes, great video interesting and informative.
Thanks Mr Marrow 😃
Keep going
981 GTS for around £50k
Good choice!
