I can't get my egg to be round...it forms above the shank of the hook. Its more like a football than a basketball. What am I doing wrong?

Pinch the Mac fly yarn together so that the material is more narrow and together where you are cutting it at as opposed to laying flat and spread out. Also pull with force and cut in a fast motion. A nice pair of curved scissors would help but not necessarily needed.
