    I really enjoyed the video. I’m hoping to start tying my own flies soon.

    Thanks again! This tutorial made it so easy to follow along and tie. I just saved myself so much money. One of these patterns sells for $2.99 CAD at my local fly shop. I just bought all the supplies and 25 hooks for around $35 CAD including the wax as well. Some of the supplies like the milking egg, thread and wax will last me years and the two foams i bought will last me hundreds of flies it seems.

      Of course, the biggest lie in fly tying is that it will save you money. ;-)

    Can you make a video of a how you record your tying videos and your camera setup!!

      Just FYI, his setup is how he makes his living. It's a trade secret. Why would he share it? As you might have observed, Tim's videos are the best on UA-cam, there is, in my opinion, nobody that comes close. So just enjoy them and learn.

    Another great vid. Do you ever tie these with added weight?

    • @tightlinevideo
      @tightlinevideo  7 років тому +2

      I rarely add weight to any egg pattern. I'll use a sink tip line, split shot or a second weighted fly to get them down. I like eggs flies to be neutrally buoyant so they drift more naturally. That said, there are a ton of weighted egg patterns out there that produce a lot of fish.

    Tim, great video tutorial, thank you. Would tying the veil off on both sides of the yolk be of any value?

    For me, Loon's High Tack Swax is very sticky. I have more luck applying it with a toothpick instead of just rubbing it on the thread from the container.

      Orvis, worth every penny. They last for years of heavy use.

    A angle rips it’s own wings off every time someone hooks their hook into their rods cork handle or rod eyelet

    "Take wraps."...... grammar's not really a thing in fly tying is it?
