The Verve are from my neck of the woods great band. The lead Singer Richard Ashcroft and Liam are good friends. Lucky Man is their song but as you say Bitter Sweet Symphony is a classic. That anthem just stands out so unique.
My favourite song from the 90s. It was the summer when we finally changed government after 18 years and there was something approaching optimism in the air
Great song, great band. I saw them play Slane Castle back in the day, they were outstanding. When you do another Verve review Rob may i suggest History (live at Glastonbury) ? I think you would like it. Cheers mate, great channel. 🙂
Also, Liam Gallagher and Richard Ashcroft (Singer of the Verve) are good friends! A Northern Soul by the Verve is dedicated to Noel Gallagher & Cast No Shadow is dedicated to (and is about) Richard Ashcroft. It is truly beautiful.
Have you listened to The Charlatans they were part of the indie scene back in 90s first tune The only one I know.... around the late 80/90s one of my favourite songs One to Another
of all the 'Manchester' bands you'll listen to, Ashcroft is the best singer you'll hear. sadly, he got Yoko Ono'd by Kate Radley who was with Jason Pierce (of Spaceman 3 & Spiritualized) but left him for Ashcroft, sending The Verve spiralling until break-up & Pierce into writing his best ever stuff, Ladies & Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space.
So many better verve songs than the singles released off the Urban Hymns album. Rolling People, Catching The Butterfly, Come On. Also check out Slide Away by them (not the oasis song) plus songs off the album before Urban Hymns called Northern Soul. Try This is Music and History. Also Love is Noise from their last album. They are a great band but those Urban Hymns singles are real plodders
Eh if you like Manchester music you should definitely react to anything by Magazine or their bass player Barry Adamson solo stuff they will blow you away, and don't get the recognition they deserve
Great vid. Ashcroft is the most underrated musician around. He's a legend
Yep. The Verve are one of the very best.
😍
Try listening to “These People” and “They Don’t Own Me” by Richard Ashcroft, definite The Verve undertones
@@noxboxx3805 good shouts. I'd recommend 'this thing called life' Ashcroft did with the United Nations Of Sound. Great tune
Oasis supported The Verve just before they got massive, they're good friends
I saw the Verve live when they were at their peak, back in 1998 - amazing feeling in a crowd of thousands
One does not simply talk over Nick McCabe's gorgeous guitar fills.
The Verve is AWESOME. A Storm In Heaven is an amazing album; check out see you in the next one!

Great reaction Rob the verve are legends!!
Absolute classic. The VERVE's first album is sublime as well.
Ahhh our British depressive wet weather ...
My favourite song from the 90s. It was the summer when we finally changed government after 18 years and there was something approaching optimism in the air
And then it all went to shit again anyway 😂
Another great Verve track which I always feel never get's enough attention is 'Sonnet'. I love that one. Try that one out Rob.
Great song, great band. I saw them play Slane Castle back in the day, they were outstanding.

Cheers mate, great channel. 🙂
The oasis track "cast no shadow" was written about Richard Ashcroft.
Well done on getting round to The Verve. Manic Street Preachers next!
Inspiral Carpets needed first
Great song and reaction...very easy to learn on guitar too.
This CD is solid. Bunch of good songs.

Nice been waiting for this one!
Gallagher dreams of being Ashcroft
My wedding song! Nice review!
Wigan’s finest 😎👌
"Slip 'n' slide"
Remember Urban Hymns being huge in 97, Oasis had gone to shit that summer with Be Here Now.
Have you listened to The Charlatans they were part of the indie scene back in 90s first tune The only one I know.... around the late 80/90s one of my favourite songs One to Another
Daisystar Shine the most underrated band of the 90’s
If you like this you'll love his solo track, song for lovers.

Try cast no shadow by oasis a song about ashcroft himself
So many better verve songs than the singles released off the Urban Hymns album.

dude go out of left field and review Daughters "you won't get what you want", I would love to see you're reaction to that.
The Verve > Oasis
You're the first smart man on this music I've come across
