I've used this test since I was a teenager after I first saw this movie. I didn't always abide by the result though. 20 years later, hindsight has shown me that the door test is a very solid indicator of a woman's character. Use and take heed of the door test fellas. Failure is definitely a red flag. Of course, it may be that it's becoming obsolete with modern vehicles. Been with my wife for 7 years so it's been awhile since I've needed to use it.
on modern vehicles you could ask her to hand you something while your driving.. i have not given it much thought but the door test should be modernized

Modern day version of this: I gave my now current girlfriend the keys to my truck so she could keep the A/C while she waits for me. I went inside a convenience store to pay for gas. I locked my truck just out of habit. It may not work now a days but I'm 44 and in 1999 at 24, I bought a Kia Sephia with no door locks. 1 girl passed this test in 4 years. That woman became my wife. Till this day, she still passes the door test 15 years later because I purposely open to for just for her. Thank you Sonny and to the old school Italian Americans I grew up with.
