The EXS looks really good, but I am very happy with the roval bar. Just the GPS mount angled down was a pain (for me). Therefor I designed a carbon 3°up angled one.
My integrated bar came included with my Yoeleo R12 and I could choose width and stem length. (Frame, bar, seatpost, fork for $1500). But on my other bike these other bars are really interesting. But $400 still painful.
Been riding with a FarSports FS1 all season and it's been great. Chose it because it works with my Giant TCR, and the fact it came with a Garmin mount. Nice see that others like EXS following suit with free proprietary out front mounts. Bit ridic dropping big loot on a fancy bar like ENVE SES Aerobar and then paying extra for a computer mount.
Started with a Roval Alpinist and as my riding style changed, I went with an Enve Aero bar, love the flared drops and then lengthened the stem after a proper bike fit. Two piece keeps my options open.
I'm starting to think that people are "dealing with" bad fits now on a bike because it's such a pain in the butt to do anything adjustment wise. Reach issue? People slide the saddle forward. Too low? Tilt the saddle down and hope for the best. It's ridiculous.
Thanks for this, I have just ordered one of the EXS Bars for my gen 6 Trek Madone, this bar solves a big problem I have with the Madone, which is the crazy long reach on Trek bars, fir some reason Trek think the bar reach should be 93mm 🤷♂️ I guess that’s fine if you fit a shorter stem, but when I’m already on a 9cm stem which is the shortest Trek make for the Madone then it becomes a problem, I was actually going to sell the bike because I can’t get the fit the same as my Aethos 🙄, I think the EXS bar looks great too, really looking forward to receiving it now 👍
I’ve got the farsports bar. 38cm 90mm. Really happy with it and honestly I can’t see any difference between this one and the vision 5D metron bar (was too big for me). I have it on my TCR
I prefer the smoother, less boxy look of Roval. Value for money for either seems pretty equivalent to your Roval sample if you factor in the lifetime policy and warranty (not a big deal for a $6K-$8K bike). As for weight..that doesn't matter if the thing is not strong - I would want to see what the CF repair guy says about the internal construction.
I would love to upgrade to the 1 piece cockpit for my Sl7, but it was such a nightmare installing the Roval Rapide bar and stem with all of the internal cables that I just can't muster the strength to go through it all over again.
Yes, that’s one of the reasons why the bike industry is all f*** up. It’s getting really stupid with all these ridiculous prices. What planet are they on? 🤔
Im a fan of farsports so far, but did you know specialized and the other employ people in western countries with western pay and advertise in these countries and worldwide ? Just because both items are manufactured in Asia and made from carbon doesn’t mean they should cost the same ….
I bought the Tarmac Bora frame and building my own bike. It looks like the last thing I will be waiting on to complete the build is for the correct size Roval handlebar to come in stock 😅
yea those are gonna be tough, what size bar do you need I have some in stock, send me an email gcperformanceyt@gmail.com and I am super jealy of that bora frame it is so nice, congrats on the frame
This reminds me of the S-works sl8 with ultegra di2 and crw wheels build that you covered before. These handlebars on top of that is an absolute killer!
OOOhhh yassss the EXS-iest bars ever man. Fell in love with the Aerover the moment I laid eyes on them. Do you foresee any issues with the rather narrow top bend into the drops though? Not sure if they would be more ergonomic or increase palm pressure. This is my only concern with them.
I need a 130mm stem. Pain in the butt finding one at a reasonable price. Looking at not all in one Deda Superbox DCR stem and Easton handle bar. Electronic shifting makes it much easier to find something that is sure to work.
@GC Performance, I ordered the EXS after watching your video and the Roval as well and received both this week. I will be installing the EXS on my S-Works SL8 Legion Racing team frame. The Roval is nice as well but I will return it for a full refund. To munch money to keep laying around. EXS is just plain sexy and the finish is awesome. The included steer tube shim is indeed a very tied fit as you mentioned in your video. Any recommendations how to make the install any less painful? I was wondering to spray it with an alcohol water solution for a little bit added slip. Thanks for your videos I always enjoy them. Cheers
I went from a 100mm stem canyon cp to an 80mm farsports f1 in search of shortening my bike's reach and it ended up being a wash because the area where the shifter clamps is safe to put is lower and forward on the F1 and on the canyon i was able to shove then further up and back. That should be a consideration for anyone trying to do the same.
@@kubackjeee incorrect, im not too flexible and have a shorter torso but i still like the look of an aero bike that's why to maximize my fit i had to get an 80mm stem. If i went down a size in bike the stack would be over 25mm shorter and that would hurt my lower back even more.
I chose to go with the Roval bar for the SL8 I'm building up. Yes, it's more money, but IMO the extra $150-$200 is worth it for two reasons. First, the aerodynamics of the SL8 were designed with that bar in mind. Second, the warranty and crash replacement policy on something as crucial and exposed as a handlebar is a big deal. The EXS looks like the best alternative, though. More competition is a good thing. FWIW, it's a shame you didn't weigh the EXS with both the steerer shim and the out front mount, or the Farsports with the steerer shim. That would be way more accurate when comparing the three.
I'd be curious to see you check out the Yoeleo H9 handlebar. A lower price point than both these bars but I have not yet found any poor quality issues with it.
I rode it on my yoeleo gravel bike I liked it alot, it did everything right just a little too generic looking to be honest, but I liked the flared dropouts
Good review GC Performance thanks for sharing…I already have the Farsports on my 2019 Giant TCR advance pro and I like it but I’m liking the EXS handlebars better. I just bought the 2024 Giant Defy frame set which have the D shape steer tube do you think the EXS handlebars will work?
That fork shaft has been cut too short for the EXS. There is literally only 1 screw holding the construction together. You skipped that part of the assembly (purposely?). That's just dangerous as hell! 😬
Just went to the site. The cost would be a wash once you add the bars. Plus it wouldn't look clean. Personally specialized makes the best stem for a clean cockpit, but it's heavy
I like the look of the EXS handlebar the most but can’t seem to find any available other than on Aliexpress. Do you know if the ones on Aliexpress (€600) are legit or is that a knock-off version? Thanks!
Girth, length and width…Coffee shot out nose! I love the EXS look - googling now! It’s amazing that both the aftermarket seem to fit more like a glove than the Roval. Should Specialized take notes? I think so.
Thanks for this. These are awesome but I'm hooked on flared handlebars so I'm looking at Black Inc's integrated bars and waiting for the one from ENVE to come out.
Out of the 3, I’d got with the Roval cockpit, since it’s the only one to offer a 44cm bar. But honestly, I’d still be with my Vision 5D Metron bar, or 5D ACR one. They’re 44cm are 43cm at the tops, which fit me like a glove.
EXS, but bar stiffness is also so critical! It would be great if Peak Torque could do some 3rd party comparisons. @gc performance maybe a collaboration?
I spotted an other 1 piece carbon bar on the same site of the EXS, and in my opinion it looks better and little cheaper than EXS. (it is called Avian Canary Handlebar)
I have just ordered the Avian Canary Integrated Handlebar from pandapodium. made from graphene and T800 carbon weighing in at 240 grams . They claim to be extremely stiff and robust. Hopeful they are good.
Another great video @gc performance! I'm leaning towards the EXS as it looks badass on the SL8 but how aesthetically pleasing would it look on a 2021 Scott Addict RC Pro? Does anyone here have seen the bar on a Scott? The stock Syncros Creston iC SL bar just isn't doing it for me... Many thanks!
Incredible product! Personally used, super light and stiff. And it has a wide range of spacer and cap adapter for different frames that fits the bar perfectly.
I decided not to upgrade my SL7 S-Works handlebar to this because 1. Cycle computer's viewing angle is too flat ... and 2. It's a bit annoying to take off the entire handlebar (instead of unscrew and turn) to fit your bicycle in a hardshell case when traveling.
Fair points... Plus carbon bars are more prone for damage in case of crash. But hey, this is our hobby and we need something to spend our money at 🤣 Having said that - this EXS is looking sick.
Nice comparison and heads up on the head tube length. Seems like the tube is a bit too low on your setup with the spacer, was that just for demonstration purposes, or do you thinks that's enough tube length ? I am still using the 5mm spacer on top of the stem, and headtube all the way up, has that changed with these integrated bars ? It does look better, but is it safe enough ? thanks !
Do you think the AXS would make 3d printer spacers for tarmac SL6? (it would ve just for the looks since as you may know sl6 doesnt have fully internal cable ruting, it would just look weird with round original spacers And the shape of the stem)
The Farsports has an OD2 option!!! The biggest pain in the butt of owning a Giant is that no one makes stems or integrated bars in Giant's proprietary steerer size of 1-1/4''. The whole of the civilized world uses 1-1/8 and I'm over here begging for affordable OEM on ebay.
I’ve used FSA handlebars with the 4dg of flare and I find them to tilt the tops of the hoods inwards casing my wrists to be very uncomfortable….but the. I’ve ridin a bontrager xxx 1pc and found that the hoods do not tilt inwards. That bar also has the same 4dgs of flare. When I say tilt I’m saying the flat top of the hood moves from a level surface to an off kilter position if that makes sense? Can you tell me if the exs bar is like the fsa or bontrager??
its hard to say, it has minimal, tilt for me, I cant gauge it compared ot how your saying it because we al gauge things differently, but it does have slight flare
I read a story a couple of years ago that Specialized diverted supplies to other countries because the US importing process is so slow. I wonder if it is still going on.
That's what every bike shop should do to save the industry - providing professional services such as mixing components and offering best value to customer. Big companies like Trek and Shimano design incompatible components purposely for their own profit. They need to learn the lesson.
EXS Aerover is awesome. Pity it's Out of stock as for now 🥹 #Question - do you see an option to put a few carbon spacers under EXS' top cup in case the fork tube is too long? Just give some time for finding optional position before cutting it?
Bro, I am dialed in on my 2021 SW Venge with 420mm roval aerofly II with 6deg stem . I want to switch to 380/400 mm farsports EXS bar, what stem size would you recommend, given the far sports ( or exs) bar has 10deg angle. I dont know how much difference will that make. is your GC10 code still valid? Thanks a lot!
Oh man, that EXS one piece is sexy as hell, makes me wanna smash that bike just by looking at it. I have the s-work aerofly II, the issue I am running is that the hardware plate that holds the computer mount inside the stem plate breaks very easily and it's not replacable. With these one piece, the computer mount goes directly into the handlebar. You can easily take it off when you travel
I have the Aerofly II (38cm) on my Venge and I will definitely get one of these one piece without spacers. The 4W savings are real, and our stem, aluminum, ain’t light (150g)
I bought the 69$ Chinese Specialzed knock off version. I can’t really tell the difference. In fact, there are only 2-3 companies in China who manufacture 90% of the parts and frames.
I’m still waiting for the Enve one piece cockpit. Want just a hint more flair (38 tops to 42 drops would be perfect). The BMC ICS is another option (36/42) and the white color is fire, but it doesn’t work with round steerer tubes.
I am leaning towards the bar which I am going to put on my bike first, which one would you choose, if you had to choose 1 between the three?
EXS by far the best looking. >F1S (without fat spacer)>Roval
fart sports
should have gone with 3T aerofux like me

EXS, no doubt the best looking one. Short reach though. Would've loved to see it with the outfront mount. Thanks for showing
EXS has a traditional bend bar version of the AEROVER which is longer reach. Absolutely the best looking 1 piece bar out there.

Gain 5 watts with better integration. Lose 20 watts in bike fit and comfort. Or pay 800 bucks for a new cockpit... new reality with pre built bikes
So very true. Facts that are glossed over by the industry shills whilst mug punters are lapping this insane fad up.
do you know if you need there fitting or you can fit it with existing spacer?
no you need there spacers but they come with bar whne you order them
Wanna See a full build with Di2 and exs
do these work with the likes of a trek domane al2 disc, which uses a 31.8mm clamp stem default, which has a steerer internal diameter of 28.6?
Yes
-10 is a deal breaker
While they do look cool , they are a deal killer for me , I'll stick with my emonda alr5 , light and simple 😊
Anyone know anything about restock issues with exs? They seem to have big problems keeping supply. Farsport doesn’t have this problem.
yea I do not know why they are very slow to restock
Does the EXS bars come w those rubber stoppers for holes at bottom of the bar?
It does not. But maybe ask them when buying they might have some to sell
I just received my EXS and it came with the rubber stoppers.
Farsports need to work on that top cap, but great alternative.
I bought the 69$ Chinese Specialzed knock off version. I can’t really tell the difference. In fact, there are only 2-3 companies in China who manufacture 90% of the parts and frames.
How did you manage to run front brake wire on tarmac sl7 headset?
1000$ for a bar/stem? I bought a good second hand bike for less than that!
Every video I just count how many cruiser baskets he has in the background. it keeps growing
Yo is that SL8 color available in a frameset-only option?
It’s the Pro AXS build. Raw carbon just like the SL7 frameset.
@@junksmiles The question is that available in a frameset-only option?
If you’re on good terms with your local shop maybe. Should be the lightest Pro frame.
@@junksmiles thanks g!
Can mechanical shifting and brake housing fit in the exs bar? For rim brakes🤔
If the bike is integrated and internal yes there is enough room for all the cables. It will just be a pain in the ass
GC, looking to integrated on my soloist, which do u think will work?
Both will work with them. There website gives all there compatible options
I’m still waiting for the Enve one piece cockpit. Want just a hint more flair (38 tops to 42 drops would be perfect). The BMC ICS is another option (36/42) and the white color is fire, but it doesn’t work with round steerer tubes.
An ENVE one piece would cost like $800 though…
Thanks 🙏🏼
@gcperformance: can you install these one piece bars to an older bike with exposed wires and rim brakes for a cleaner cockpit?
Yes.
Where did you get the exs bars? They only have like 3 sizes in stock.
go to exs website if not then message them oin instagram or send them an email on there website you might have to custom make it
Do you know if the Winspace Zero bar has an SL8 adapter
it does not but one can be from 3d printing
will the EXS fit the new Soloist?
yes they have attachements for it to work
