I don't want to be that guy that gives advice to a creator on what he should do with his shit.... but you should do this regularly. Like once a month, just show off a community made map. Maybe someone can even setup a server and playtest them.

I actually don't understand how they did the inflatables on pool day. Truly next-gen. The vent flash and diving board are sick too, I really like those little creative updates.

I'm really happy that these small updates on a map that I wanted to make a tribute for are appreciated, thank you! The inflatables are actually something you could have done in Source 1 probably but it would have been more painful than in Source 2. I'm preparing a video tutorial that i'll try to record and upload on youtube this weekend (I think), it will be tech stuff but maybe it's something cool to watch even from someone who doesn't want to really create these.

I cant wait to see what community map valve used a single one of, while we play Mirage in year 2056, where the only change to the map is making a doorway a foot wider.

A lot of these maps have too much interior. Most of the maps in CS are mostly outside and that enables a lot of utility usage. I could be totally wrong though, I haven't tested the maps. Speaking of which, I think Valve should add a map tester mode to play a rotation of community maps.
Thats what the operations are for. They pick the best maps from the community and put them in the game to test them. Then pick the most balanced one and add them to the map pool. Thats how we got Anubis.
Faceit does it with mapcore - They also had a separate queue for subzero in past (loved that map btw)
I have been saying this for so long. Just throw a bunch of community maps into a rotation to play via matchmaking. This would make it easier for players who don't usually play community maps to play them and let you earn xp/drops while playing them too. It would add so much to the game with functionality that shouldn't be too hard to implement.
Doing a functioning website for a workshop map has to be some of the most dedicated and creative shit I have seen in years, huuuuge respect. Also nice and simple vid launders keep it up boss

The fitness center map that was in brazil also had a website if you scanned a qr code in the middle of the map on a corkboard. Its a nice touch.

Also the outro bit was so on point! you are correct about all these points and for example we at MapINK really try to offer a platform to everyone to playtest anything they make. Playtesting is the MOST important point of mapmaking and the marriage of feedback and the direction of the mapmaker are at the core of making the maps we love as great they are. Thanks for pointing that out!
Love this! As a new mapper, I think this type of video is great for the community as a whole, I would also love to see this be a returning series!

Really nice maps. A thing I thought about on the distillery one was to put a color around the window into the office. Right now it's white and peeking from the left on CT like you did it could be difficult to quickly identify the opening. A wooden finish around the opening would fit well with the rest of the map as well imo.

Legendary stuff! i know your videos have a standard to them but like stream of just going trough other maps would be interesting. i really liked the de_amatily2 feedback as it had many great points. A noteworthy map de_memento is coming out soon as well. The main mapmaker Twinnie has not uploaded it yet but its the prettiest map ive seen thus far.
Assembly and their website is absolutely next level. Love that.
@launders 22:14 you can strafe onto the electrical box around the corner as a risky fast jump back onto sight from the red lift.
Brewery reminds me of Cache for some reason, would be cool to see it as a normal defusal map.
24:32 is something we need in new maps for sure.

Adding the ladder/stairs from CT spawn in Ferry would actually be a cool idea, make the deck/top half of the map CT-favored where they can get to the angles earlier and prevent Ts from just taking space there and gathering info as you stomp your way through the mess hall

as a newer player this video has me super excited to see what else comes out of the mapping community. ferry and assembly kinda feel like cod maps more than cs so i feel like anything but 10v10 or death match would be a little underwhelming gameplay wise but they look great otherwise.

what was the mode in cs:go where it was 5v5 and you upgraded your gun round by round. brewery would be sick for that. and assembly seems like the style of map the add in for an operation.

36:04 this is why I use my thumb on V for +back aswell as S so if im in danger or just reactively counter strafing I use V but with nades out or just casually moving around use S. this helps a great deal with when you scope up and round corners with awp or have to peek strange angles/ have limited time or space and need to move quickly

Brewery is gorgeous, reminds me of a hitman map. Feels like one of the first maps that’s taking advantage of the new lighting to the fullest.
This makes me want to get into mapping… I just don’t know where to start 😂

Coming from valorant, there are a few maps that have some vent flashes or very similar concepts that are honestly really fun to play around, especially in post plant situations.
Give me back the old classics. I'm old and I deserve it.
It would even make sense in Ferry that CTs would probably come in with a chopper. That van in the car deck seems a tad out of place.
Just fyi, Brewery and most of the other maps werent just made in few months. Some of them are ports/remasters of their csgo versions and some of them started being made after Half-Life: Alyx source 2 tools came out

ASSEMBLY looks colorful beacause real assembly plants have very strict color coding and it is important that every area that may be dangerous is immediately noticeable and understood thru the code of color. I guess it looks fun, but as an engineer who has seen many assebly plants it looks very true to the source material

would love if valve adds some sort of experimential q to cs, (mr12, no overtime, no ranked) where peopple can test new maps and rate the map after there game. add a rotation, where the least liked map rotate out after a few month and getting replaced by new maps.
Some of these maps should be nades only with half sec blind flashbangs, or limit guns to only smgs or shotguns. Amazing work by the mappers, hopefully valve realizes bad competitive maps can be fun if only they limited guns and nade choices or added some map specific weapons.

I recognized poolday from pixel gun lol, didn't know it was in counter strike before.
honestly with the first map I'd flip the spawns so the CTs start up top and the Ts down low and are already inside the ferry from the start.
Because right now it doesn't make much sense. How'd the Police Vehicle get there? It couldn't have driven over the sea to that spot and if the CTs got onboard before the hijacking then why didn't they intervene beforehand? Also Hostage maps are inherently more T-sided and you're giving the CTs even more of a disadvantage by having to fight up instead of downwards.
Put the T Spawn in the car area and make it a Van with open doors, signifying that that's how the Ts got on there. They drove the van up, waited until they were far out at sea and then striked and took hostages.
Place the CT Spawn up top right below a Helo that dropped them off and flies away at the start of the round

i feel some of those new maps have way way to many angles to check. Round will be over before you get to bombsite.

Hostage maps are wasted in this game... the devs said they'll add new guns, hopefully exclusive for hostage maps since the current guns don't work for that mode.
