Is the finale tossing of the streamers the reason why fans used to throw streamers when phantom closed out their shows? I always wondered and now I may see why. This was great!

And Arthur Fiedler of the Boston Pops, way back in 1974, decided to use this piece because it would be impressive with the fireworks going off at the end. And a tradition was born. Relax; keep your undershirt on.

It was a long streamer that was weighted at the tip with a small rock. The other end was tied to the bottom of our pockets.
