And btw, for the IDK level, the last bit where you got stuck with the stars.. I think you can get past the last bit without using that last star that dissapeard.. If u run to the jump thing (dont know how to call it) wait for the mushroom to go past, then run under the scissors, throw there the jumper, wait for the mushroom, get it, and than get small again and run!???
That was a short lived rating system I implemented because guys like Xanaboy kept sending me roms asking for videos when they didn't actually playtest them, so I put in a 3 strikes rule, which I think I actually forgot about after this romhack (Or even this video alone...)
By accident though? If anything from rewatching it, it looks more like Gamelun's intent was for the start to eventually start bouncing down the tunnel so that you have to run through that area really fast, not to have to adjust the camera. That makes more sense considering how all the other stars seem to work.

B) You are right that people do just cheap out games with save states now, but I use them in the context of the video to make things move fast. If I had to redo every level every time I died it would take a lot longer than UA-cam allows. C) I beat the original SMW when I was 6 when the SNES was originally released in '91 and beat it every year or so on the original system.

@NickandSasuke He was referencing Jon's old work in the fact that he went and pointed out where the quote comes from (Knytt Stories). If he wasn't, he would have just written "Don't eat the mushroom". :)
basicly, there are i think four types of scrolling you can set in a normal level. no vertical scroll vertical scroll when running/climbing/flying vertical scroll at will and just no scrolling at all. he has it set to scrolling while running and etc.
manual scrolling is one of the tools the player should have in his repertoire, many maps put that in consideration and you wont beat them without using it.
