I paused gaming for three months and everyday I used to listen video game ost missing it and later realized how beautiful the medium is that I want to have a career in it. My newer pc broke down but I played retro games on older pc making me love them more and specially the genre that is fighting games.
Great video capping off a great series. These videos have, at least partially, informed and inspired the way I tackle my backlog. They also remind me of why it is I push myself to chase those new experiences and try games I haven't played before. Thank you for making this series, and keep making great content!
I only call a few things a true masterpiece but these 3 videos were truly one, and the end literally gave me goosebumps which rarely happens, so you can judge how much I loved this series of 3 videos " *Hats off* " dude. " *Hats off* " 🙌
I’m currently watching this as I’m waiting for my Steam Deck to show up at the door. For the first time in 13 years of playing on PC, I will finally have a device capable of running absolutely every game I want to play, and that means it’s time to catch up on all the stuff I’ve missed over the years. I think 2025 will likely end up being one of my most active years for playing video games yet. I’ve been keeping a list of all the things I may want to play, and it’s currently up to almost 50 games. I’m sure I’ll remove some as time goes on, but more will be added to take their place. And maybe, just maybe, 2025 will finally be the year that Silksong comes out. Riiight? (I’ve been waiting almost six years for it.)
@@Phirestar I hope your Steam Deck arrives soon! It's such a great device!! I also hope Silksong comes out next year for you 😂 at this rate Star Citizen will come out sooner.
This was a great series! Elden Ring + SotE took me from May to September to finish as my 'main' game. I enjoyed it but also was so ready for it be done lol
I’m so glad the algorithm recommended this to me. Brilliant video bruv 👊 I’ve started to take more time in creating my videos, and I can see the amount of time and effort you put into this, loved it ❤
honestly really enjoy cloud streaming with gamepass. I'm casually playing for the most time. And With it, I get to try so manny games. I even write tiny reviews for fun. That I can go back to, and enjoy how I experienced it.
UA-cam algorithm showed me your first video in the series the day before yesterday, then it showed me the second video. And now it directed me to this one. I liked your essays. However, I think I am much more pessimistic than you regarding the future of gaming (e.g. subscription model is evil, and I can't compromise on that). Also, after some of your advices I am now wondering if I am too bad socially and economically, and have too busy schedule to play games 😅 (well, I recently discovered that my laptop runs Dark Souls: PtDE when I set resolution to 800 x 600, so no way I am giving up on gaming before completing it)
Could you speak more of what exactly you mean by subscription model? I think many people would be referring to free to play games with micro transactions but I cannot agree that it is evil. It can often make the games a lot worse than would have been with a paid model but I cannot say it is evil since it is completely free to play. Overwatch is a relatively recent example. The game is not a good in all aspects as it was before they changed to model. However, it is free so how can I complain. If you are referring to the model World of Warcraft had back in the day (paying monthly to be able to play the game) then I can maybe see what you are talking about. Riot games are developing an mmo of their own and since all of their other games use the same model (free with micro transactions) it will probably use that too. I am excited to see what they will come up with but I actually think it would be a better idea to make the game a subscription like WoW had/has and skip the micro transactions. It is probably not the best option from a economical standpoint (which is why they won't use it) but it should be a better idea if they want to make the game itself as good as possible. The reason for it is that it fits the genre. An mmo is game with a lot of grind and time investment. Both you and I do not have unlimited free time to play games and sometimes the amount of free time had can come in chunks. Then it would be fitting to only pay for a game if you actually play it. There is also no real reason to own a copy of an mmo since it is completely online. If you do not agree it would be interesting to hear your thoughts. I play a lot of games and develop my own with a few friends so I think a lot about were the industry might be heading.
I'm unsure if i'm coping or i can genuinely just tell whether or not i'll most likely enjoy a game or not. The vast majority of games i end up buying i end up finishing, as i believe i know what i like and what i don't like enough to know if it's worth trying some games. Maybe i am wrong and i would benefit from trying a broader range of games but, i have a fairly healthy backlog. Couple dozen games or so, manageable. The moment i run out of backlog or don't feel like playing something from it, i might consider something new.
Thanks i loved the video❤ One personal question. I have to choose between buying cyberpunk or elden ring. Which one do you think is the better choice. Also i have never played an atlus game before. So metaphor refantazio or persona 5 is also an option.
My Portal is great for extra gaming time in bed. Always look for a demo for new games before buying. Subscriptions though is a no, my backlog is big enough.
I like the video, but really should provide a trigger warning for the death clock and offer a timecode ro jump to. I jave thanatophobia and that is very anxiety inducing
@wonderlanddreamer1021 it's not something I thought about no, because at the end of the day, death is inevitable to us all whether we have a fear of it or not. I think most people wouldn't think to add one, especially when it's meant to be making fun of the inevitable. Trigger warnings I'd usually put would be for suicide or murder, but not just your average death.
@Kranitoko I can imagine myself as a teen, watching this, looking at that clock and having an anxiety attack. And you should think about those people too.
@@Kranitoko by the time they made hades they were not an indie studio anymore. Supergiant games already had 3 games under their belt and the studio was way bigger than what it was when they released bastion.
I have a friend who just dislikes souls and monster hunter and I’m just convinced he does it because he’s some weird hipster who refuses to like popular games, or he’s secretly bad but refuses to admit that’s the reason
I totally agree with your friend. I dislike soulslike games and also MH. Combat is usually amazing in both of them but everything else is so bad for me. They are too eastern for my taste. The menus are complicated, inventory management is a nightmare, if you want to play co-op don't even think about a seamless experience. I cannot stand Japanese style games for some reason. At least I have given multiple chances. Western style soulslikes, however, I like. Returnal, Star Wars Jedi, Hollow Knight, etc are my jam.
@ for him it’s actually a lot about him hating the gameplay and story telling, at least that’s what he says is his complaints. But I do get what you mean if you aren’t used to them the onboarding process is definitely rough. I like Japanese games generally more than western games because they tend to feel a lot different and do interesting things, they are a lot less homogeneous than western games. But I also like death stranding so you could argue my opinion is invalid.
As someone who genuinely does not like Monster Hunter I don't find that too hard to believe that he just... dislikes them fair and square. Just like I don't care even one bit about the Metal Gear Solid games (despite being a fan of stealth games) or several other popular series. No game is everyone's cup of tea.
Happy 5th of November everybody! Only 47 years exactly to go until I... ☠️ (approximately) 😂
I have adored this series. Thanks very much for your time and effort.
