I was just going to suggest that tie-dye works beautiful in these summer dresses. I was suggest grateful dyes if you were on the West Coast and there's another professional dye place on the east coast called dharma trading. both have wonderful professional dyes. You have to soak your fabric first in soda ash for 15 minutes or you can even spray it on and then you spin the fabric until it's barely damp and then you apply the dyes you can scrunch the fabric you can paint the dye on and that results in beautiful beautiful fabrics and beautiful colors you can't get any place else. I always get tons of compliments on the clothing I make myself and dye myself. You learn how to mix the dyes fairly quickly but there's a lot of tutorials on dye mixing or you can just buy them pre-mixed at these places and they have beautiful colors. Again great job on the tutorial. I was able to buy 60-in wide fabric from dharma trading for $4 a yard so I have tons of it I bought a whole bolt. And the cotton is super soft and super strong I believe it was mixed with rayon. but excellent job on the tutorial and your dress design is great. loved it
Instead of a safety pin which of course is a good choice You can also use a Tapestry or yarn needle too You can get a four pack for $2 at any craft shop
I'm 70 years young.. luv fabrics.. could live in a fabric or thrift store- lol!! This is a brilliant idea! Could layer it over a t-shirt .. you're right.. the possibilities are endless!! Luv the gradient colors! The top you're wearing and matching lipstick are beautiful, lovely lady. I subscribed for your positivity and ASMR!!
Being an artist and a single mom in expensive times I take a lot of satisfaction in being able to recycle and upcycle many items for everyday use. I bought myself a sewing machine about a year ago and have been scanning youtube videos for inspiration. I just came across you today and think you're my favourite. Your personality and creativeness shine. I'm going to try and make a dress like this but cheat by using the sewing machine. Thank you for the idea and I'll be seeing all your future videos.
Love it!! A random piece of advice for anyone upcycling (or buying clothes) - if you have trouble with feeling very sweaty in some clothes, pay attention to the fiber content! Synthetic fibers like polyester, nylon, elastane, etc, can cause the fabric to not "breathe", trapping heat and moisture causing you to feel really sweaty. Stick to natural fibers like cotton, linen, wool, silk, hemp, etc as well as processed natural fibers like viscose and modal. Anything with synthetic content over 5%, doesn't work for me. 95% cotton 5% elastane is fine but things like 70% cotton 30% polyester is a nono for me, wayy to clammy and uncomfortable. Just a tip, this took me DECADES to discover lol
I love thrifting but a word of caution - you can end up with an infestation of clothes moths if thrifted clothes are not washed in very hot water (or frozen in a bag in the freezer for 3 days) as soon as you bring them home.
I was gifted a box of white t-shirt, from no to triple X. Now I know what I can do with some of them. Make this dress for my granddaughter, my daughter and myself. I love the idea of tie dying them, leaving them white. You are so right. This project is very versatile. Thanks for bringing this to our attention❤️👍🏽🌹🌹🌹
The slit and shirt yarn is so helpful for so many other things! I do a trick where instead of tucking my shirts in, I wrap a ribbon/belt around my waist and pull the shirt thru and I think this would so help with that! Thanks so much!!
I love this video Angelina!! I can see so many ways this technique can be used. I've been silently learning on my own through your videos every week I get excited!!!
Gurl' this is absolutely fantastic, I have a "Desiqual" Tshirt dress that I found at TjMaxx for $22 over a year ago that is a small but I can wear medium yet usually wear large. Sure enough it fits ok being Tshirt material but it's too short for me (old enough to be your mom 🙂). So I've worn it with pants underneath but said to myself I need to decide on a way to wear it as a dress such as put a slip dress underneath or somethin'🤔 Low-n- behold here you are today with my solution ☺️😁 of adding to the bottom of this dress!👏🏿🎉💖 Pass the collection plate Sis😘 And don't get me started on the dress you just showed us. I'm fixin' wear my renegade sweatshirt with a new level of blessed pride! THANK YOU 😘💖🎉

Angelina, I love this and it's so cute on you! The colors are beautifully popping! All my fav colors 😍!! This is adorable*. I can even see this with a pattern in the middle, even with a pattern for each tier or cool designs from a shirt in the middle too. Love your version Angelina and love that the possibilities are truly endless! Thanx so much for sharing!! 💚💙💚
Thanks for this video! Highly inspirational as always, but more so because there is no way that anyone, any skill-level, or access to tools cannot so this and make it personal and great!! Love this!!💜💜💜
I always enjoy your videos and this one is a must try! I'm imagining making the straps wider and adding pockets. Perhaps midi length. Wow... To the thrift store I go!!
@@BlueprintDIY Wouldn't it be possible , with a wide enough shirt, to use the sleeves pushed inside to be the pockets? Or would the shoulders get in the way?
OMG yes thank you for sharing this ☺️ I have so many tshirts that husband doesn't wear I don't wear can now make something cute for myself and my daughter and it look awesome. This helps save money by reusing old tshirts or like you buy tshirts from thrift store. Can't wait to make dress for my daughter she is going to love it.
I just discovered your channel. It is fantastic!! The summer dress you created without sewing is sheer genius! I love it. Looking forward to going through your older videos as well as getting into your new ones to help up cycle my closet.
Why do I want to make this with a denim top? This dress is so amazing! So fun and springy! Also a great way to get rid of old t-shirts that might have stains but are in too good condition to throw away. Ooohh-tie dye shirts and then then put them together. Like a tie dye color blocking.
I LOVE this! Gotta try it and I can see this as an off the shoulder tee with ruffle sleeves. Wanna play around with that idea. Thanks so much for your creativity!
Blowing my mind! Right away thought of swim coverups, especially for my ten year old great granddaughter! She is a long drink of water, this would be so easy to adjust the length! Blessed and safe days!
Omg I love this! I love how I can pick and choose my combination of colors 💚💚💚 I love your color combination! And I only need a scissors and a safety pin? Guuuurlll yes I love it! I’m looking forward to doing this myself!

I'm not sure if I am going to make this myself yet, but I am definitely sharing this! People are always asking me how to get into making their own clothes or reconstructing clothes when the see mine and this is a great tutorial for beginners!
Beautiful! I started upcycling t-shirts myself a couple of years ago when I had a v-neck shaped tee in a colour (raspberry pink) and style I loved but it was too short, so I grabbed some other old tees from my wardrobe (one white and one turquoise) that I liked the colour of but not fond of the logos on them and they were too wide with no shape. I kept the top with the shape at the top pretty much the same (cut off the bottom hem) and added the other 2 wide ones below. I added side slits to the bottom layer and came out with a super comfortable summer dress that I get complements on whenever I wear it. (My grandson calls it my bomb-pop dress). I liked it so much that I did the same with a white sleeveless v-neck tee on top, and did a tier of navy, and a tier of gathered gray and added gray patch pockets. I absolutely love it and have also received many compliments. I used a sewing machine to make both of mine but watching you make this beautiful sundress I am inspired with the idea of making a peplum top! Thank you for sharing your wonderful creativity, you are truly amazing!
Never have seen the no sew sun dress this is absolutely awesome, I love purple and I look forward to seeing more of your techniques, thank you for sharing this super idea

I absolutely love this method of making a dress. It's just what I needed to see before I go "thrifting" this weekend. Now, I'm wanting to make at least one of these dresses. Maybe four of 'em with one being sleeveless, one strap, one narrow shoulders (forget what those are called), and, one with the sleeves as originally on the shirt. I imagine this would work with using other fabric shrts, too - hopefully get them in fabric which doesn't fray too much, though. TYSM for sharing this technique with us. 😉
@BlueprintDIY….GIRL🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 look at Angelina and Drew…what a Lovely pair. Angelina I’m so Proud of you, you have opened up so many eyes, to help them stop being slaves to fashion…I Love everything you’re doing. Great Job Drew!…thanks for helping Angelina fly!
Oh my god, I love the very first part of just the strip weaving through the slits of the shirt! I'm looking for a shirt to do that to right now!🤩 You could do that at the hem, right under the bust, along the collar!! Brilliant!
I absolutely love this and now need to make a few of these with tees we have around the house! Love love love all your videos, Angelina, you make me smile.
I liked the dress. And, I liked your purple top. You mentioned near the end that you had sewn that top too. Or, at least I think that is what I heard. The top is beautiful. It doesn't look like t-shirt fabric. It looks more like silk, given the depth of the purple in the top.
I'm on my third of your videos today. Your personality is so genuine and lovely and these are projects I might actually do, haha, not an easy task! Thanks for all the wonderful content!

Queen of the upcycle world...... I always appreciate your creative mind. 😍😍😍 . Can you please do some sewing tutorials for sailor pants, wide leg pant or for any other large size pants........ please.......
This is just what I was looking for. I had the idea in my head but wasen't sure how to make it, so your demonstration is really welcome and perfect. It looks lovely thank you!
Your video popped up in my feed and I'm so glad I watched it! I only wear skirts and dresses and I am always looking for something comfortable that is not bodycon. I can only wear navy blue, black or khaki to work and have the worse time finding anything just below my knees. Now I am going to take this idea and make lots of skirts! I might sew because I'm lazy like that! 😆 thank you. New subscriber!
I was just watching a video about belly dancing. And she taught how to make a hip scarf out of a T-shirt. She also teaches in another video how to make a top from the top of a t-shirt for belly dance. Now I find you, wish I'd known this years ago. My husband used to get so many T-shirts from all the different vendors he worked with. Always large or extra large and he folded them up put them on a shelf for years. When he passed from cancer I'm not kidding there had to have been 700 t-shirts throughout the house so fold it up. I donated them to salvation army I think. Now I wish I'd kept them man, I'd have dresses like you wouldn't believe. I really enjoy sewing, but lately I haven't had the time to sew. The fact that I can sit and do this while watching my sister or my dad, both in bad health. I love to recycle, and upcycle. I was beginning to aprons still am. But I do need summer dresses so I thank you from the bottom of my heart, for your information on how to make a no-sew summer dress. Thanks a bunch. CL
The purple top I have on in this video is a scissors only t-shirt upcycle as well. Here's the tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/ocHioOVbUio/v-deo.html

Tip for upcycling: if you have a bunch of T-Shirts lying around that don't match in color, you can always dye them.
Great idea! Or, after sewing them together, perhaps bleach tie-dye the new garment to get a cohesive look?
Or just shirk society's expectations of aesthetics and make a weird combo 😄

Hei Hei. My favourite character 😊
I dare you to do this with sweater knit!!! I know you will probably need an overlocker, but it would be super cute!!
I have a thrift store near me that has t-shirt rag bags for $2 each. There can be as many as 10-20 tshirts in it. Great buy in my opinion

That’s a cool idea!
Love this idea 💕....I would go one step further and use the sleeves for pockets 😉 Great video and great inspiration!
Great idea!
CL
Oh my gosh, Yes! You would have dresses on dresses. I’m so glad this was helpful!
