I can't wait to make that pea salad. It looks so good. Everybody makes cornbread salad different. Some cooks use celery, some use green bell pepper. I would leave out the cucumber but I would add lettuce. All three of your salads would be welcome at any family BBQ.

We love it and even tho my brother and his family live in the same town, life is so busy, I know we would not see one another near as much if she didn't have this tradition for us. I never have ranch dressing. I always have blue cheese dressing and I have ranch powder seasoning. I'm not a big ranch person. I love pea salad! I have never had pea salad with pasta! :-) I will have to try it and now I'm craving cornbread salad!

I only like the florets too! Oh, I love love love pecans. I think I will try this and add bacon and pecans. And I could eat dried cranberries by the handful! That cornbread salad looks insanely delicious! They definitely all do, but that cornbread one has to be my favorite! I miss Sunday supper with my grandma. What a special time that was in my life.
Heather, it was SO good and it was the gift that just kept on giving 😂 we ate out of it every day for a week I think. They all looked good! I make cornbread salad using 2 different recipes (whichever one I'm wanting at the time) but neither of them are like this one. The bbq for the dressing is a different twist especially.
It did give it a good flavor. I've never eaten one like this either. It is like a layered salad, everything I've had before was very moist like dressing before you bake it. Thanks so much for watching it's good to see you today. 😊

With Pea Salad, sometimes I mix things up and add a drained small can of sliced black olives, or cube up cheddar cheese to put in it. Also a tablespoon or so of sweet relish is yummy. It is so versatile.

Have you tried adding raisins, sunflower seeds, and chow mein noodles to your pea salad? I know it sounds strange, but that's what I always add and it's a hit
I've not, but I add those to my broccoli salad sometimes 😋 Thanks for the tip and for watching
Do you think you could use all yogurt in the broccoli apple salad? I don't like mayonnaise and I know that is odd for a southern girl but I have just never liked it. You could save the stems in the freezer and use them when you make a broth. I have never heard of cornbread salad. Thank you so much for sharing.
I would say you could use the Greek yogurt for all of it it might just not thicken up as much. And Hey we all have something we don't like😂. Believe it or not I have never made my own stock, I keep meaning to but I just never have. And this cornbread salad was different than any I've ever had it was more like a layered salad but it was so good. it made such a large amount that we ate out of this for lunch and dinner all week long. @@InTheKitchenWithMommaMel stock is so easy. You can do it in a crockpot to make it even easier. I have a video on my channel for broth/stock. I was very intimidated when I first thought about trying to make it but after I found out how easy it is I felt foolish.

I do a layered cornbread salad and it's delicious but right now I need to leave out some of the ingredients because I don't have them and I can't do anything with crunch until I get my dental implants.
