Reupholstering an Armchair for Beginners | No Sewing

- I reupholstered a chair for the first time, no sewing needed, just staples and a staple gun. Seems like no two chairs are alike so it's hard to find a how-to video that matches up to your specific chair. This is me just putting one more out there in the universe for you to choose from. I hope this is helpful to someone out there!
I used almost 6 yards of upholstery fabric from hobby lobby. Costed about $50, and was on sale 40% off.

My honest review is that for a first time, this looks great. Yes, I can see room for improvement, maybe get things more snug, that sort of thing, but overall a really good job. Also, I'm impressed with some of the methods you showed us. I make a lot of piped cushions and pillows, and gluing the cord/fabric/piping never occurred to me. I will try this with the next pillow/cushion I sew. If I like the result, you will save me loads of time sewing! Thanks for the inspiration!

I love your cat, reminds me of my cat and looks similar to mine ❤️. Every time I’m doing a task they are also always coming to investigate and inspect, it makes me happy because I think that’s super adorable. The chair came out fantastically! You’ve definitely gave me some ideas on how to revamp my old couch because lord knows I’m sewing challenged lol

For piping it’s easier to staple to the chair as you make the piping

Wow that’s stunning work!!!! You inspire me to fix my nightmare with upholstering my couch and loveseat cushions!!! I felt bad for you sewing by hand you have the patients of a Saint! I’m great full for my sewing machine, although I would recommend a heavy duty sewing machine bc I burnt out my regular brother sewing machine. You should do more reupholstering you do excellent work and I see you too have a little helper. The cat not your hubby😂😂😂
Nice job for never having done it. Suggestion: always save material pieces and use them as templates alot easier for recovering,you don't have to figure sizes etc. Always pull snug.And yes, save any foam batting you can, Looks good! Cats very helpful.lol.:)

These types of tasks are very interesting, and really fascinating. I'd like to learn how to do it perfectly for when I really need to do it and be able to reupholster any piece to my liking. I have a Florence Armchair from Manhattan Home Design that I love for its tan leather upholstery, but I use it every day for reading, and I know I'll have to reupholster it at some point. I hope to be ready when that time comes. Thanks for the tutorial!

what type of fabric did you use?
Its just a thicker upholstery fabric. Found it in the upholstery fabric section at hobby lobby! It feels like a polyester/canvas mix.

This was a great effort. No hate here. If you can do such a credible job with a hot glue gun, please consider getting basic sewing lessons. its really not that hard to do straight sewing and hot glue guns hurt.😀
Thank you! Lol I know how to sew, just didn't have the materials at that time and wanted to make it a "no sew" video for all the beginners out there on UA-cam.
