What is your outro song?
I am so glad you're passion leads directly too the things I am passionate about. You ask great questions. You make what I feel is automotive ART. An to see it as you gone threw the years has been worth every second, sound,an car for me.
@@ethanwild3301 I also want to know this.
We were all hoping for some outside footage of the car on track!
Please arrange it
Wished he made it looked like the need for speed understand 2 car, just needs that lil nug.
Probably the best sounding VQ ever, on top of being one of the most incredibly developed race car
Facts! It sounds so nice
@@iraqifoodcart8447 take a look at this video, no words, only the sound of this car on track and onboard ua-cam.com/video/V2Hub3VHCVM/v-deo.html
still sounds like a trumpet
@@ReJaggrd No it doesn't
15:1 compression with ITBs. No wonder it sounds so good.
Compression doesn't have that much to do with sound/tone of an engine, lol.
@@FukU2222he has a stepped exhaust
@@FukU2222it can if it is a dramatic enough shift in compression ratio it can. It’s just most of the time it doesn’t cause a dramatic enough change in sound to notice
The big thing is equal-length headers with a spike merge collector into an equal-length single exit exhaust. You can do this on any Z. The duals into single y-pipe needs to be dual 2.5 into single 3.5 and needs to merge roughly right where hypothetical collecter extenders would end and remain merged as long as possible before you split it back into duals if you wanted the dual exhaust look.
This 350 build has been so well documented and filmed over the years>>. Best sounding VQ for sure. Love this guy getting his flowers👏
And filmed? Where might one find some of these films? & or documentation? As I've only come across 1 previous small "feature" along with mention & photos. Would love more technical in depth information/specifications/history/build process etc you name obsessed with this build
@@JP-gd1ln If you search youtube for "Onpoint 350z" you will find loads of videos on it
I still remember his headers being discussed on the my350z forum probably 10 years ago or more, man time flies!
@@YowserUK Speed Academy has a few videos on it if im not mistaken
@@26b I thought so
Thanks for featuring Kels Larry! She misses you already!
Sasha is an amazing tuner.
We call him Mr. Anis
Watching the evolution of this over the years has been awesome...to see it now being photographed by Larry...this car and builder deserve every bit of recognition. One of the best builds of our generation.
What a interesting build. It’s the best sounding NA vq I ever heard! It’s definitely a rocket ship. Dude might be a genius 😂
Definitely
Thanks
Sasha is such a legend. Modest and as nice as can be. I trust he will find the pace he predicts!
What a wild build! You really don't see many KERS builds by indie enthusiasts/shops. Really cool backstory too.
Hands down one of the best builds I've ever seen! so innovative!
I've been following Sasha since he got this car. It's probably my favorite build of all time. I've always been excited about natural aspiration and electronic control systems.
Finally getting some more recognition that this build deserves when I first discovered this build first time I ever experienced a "game over" moment as a long time time attack enthusiast & evolving competitor this may be the ultimate time attack build of all time if not the chassis/motor combo/balance at the very least the overall concept & design is perfection. High compression (Larry Chen just skipped right over 15:1 CR for a 4.2 NA VQ is insane) highcomp+NA+Stoker+hybrid motor+KERS w/ CF body 4 way coilovers+ rear steer+ all the sensors/data/control+proper balanced aero package has got to be damn near the best recipe to dominate time attack wether the VQ/FM is the right platform/motor for that recipe time will tell but this build is beyond inspirational it makes you briefly more inspired than you've ever been quickly followed by devastating defeat knowing what it will take to compete with such a machine.
I was on a Formula SAE Electric team for a few years in college and seeing a lot of familiar tech on this badass build just excites me more for the future of motorsport whether it's IC, hybrid, or fully electric.
Great to see other Ziptied readers in the comments. "Too close for missiles, switching to guns." Sasha's build thread wasn't just the car - it was his progression as a driver, builder, business owner, tuner, team owner, fabricator, etc. Such an inspiring dude.
One of my favorite builds!
Please convince Larry to arrange some footage of the car on track. It so deserves it
Larry, the reason why you haven't seen this car is because the flood of supra/gtr "custom project car bros" that buy everything from a store and claim it's ground up- They get the views. This is what a TRUE ground up build is. I'm so glad you got to experience this!
These time attack/track builds are really fun to watch!! I'm really obsessed with those functional aero kits and idc if it's a hybrid powered or whatsoever as long as it's functional and would definitely help you to shave off time, that's what all matters here!! Function over form!! No bs or whatsoever, just straight up business!!! Love these contents, Larry!!! Ngl, I never even thought that it is possible to build a hybrid power train especially on a car like this!! You'd normally see this kind of thing on a pure-bred race cars like Super GT race cars (GT300 and GT500 classes), DTM cars, Le Mans prototypes, and F1!! Massive respect to this piece of engineering right there!!! Truly a work of art!!!
What I love with racing hybrids is that they exist partly for efficiency in the case of F1 and LMP cars, but in the case of Time Attack cars they exist to keep your minimum speed up by giving you giant bursts of acceleration, and idea I'm toying with for my final year uni project is trying to design one to go in the front axle of the MX5 I use for Time Attack here in the UK, it's tech that absolutley fascinates me and if I can make it I absolutley will go for it. This 350Z is totally one of the inspiration pieces for it, such an awesome bit of kit, it exists in this weird vacuum in time attack where most cars in TA basically boil down to having a very high power to weight and strong aero, effectivley brute forcing good lap times, this car gets them by integrating all the systems to become a cohesive unit and it's awesome to see a really different approach to normal. Love that it's getting shown off like this
@@jameswhitehead03 glad to hear it man!!! These innovative technologies like hybrids are really beneficial especially in motorsports like these!! It improves every aspect of performance and efficiency as well!!! I was really inspired by his build to be honest and I'm kinda planning of doing this kind of thing to my own TA car someday (probably do it with the EK or EG Civics, or any lightweight track capable vehicles that you could ever find like Miatas which is your current platform, or maybe even the same current platform as this guy has which is the Z platform). And also, about the aero kits, I wish that aftermarket companies like HKS, Varis, Pandem, RWB or any companies would develop track oriented widebody kits for specific vehicles like GR86, New Civic Type R, GR Corolla, and the 400z (including other vehicles whether it's modern or old school models). Anyways, I'm rooting for your MX5 project!! Hopefully it'd be a successful one and would definitely rip the tracks!!!
@@jameswhitehead03 and speaking of hybrid powertrains, I don't exactly know if this is true but I believe that recently, Ford performance have already did this kind of hybrid technology to their rally race car and I'm not sure if it's their Focus or Fiesta model but regardless, that was really cool to hear that!! Idk if this is already a thing years ago or what but I really do never heard anything like hybrid power to this extent. And also, I'm looking forward to AMG's F1 Hybrid technology that'd be adapted to their new upcoming road performance vehicles. Hopefully this would be a new opportunity for big aftermarket companies to develop new parts like AMG are doing (for example, their Hybrid technology to F1 car by using the turbo to separate the hot and cool side compression which improves spool time and reduces turbo lags). Sure it'd be really expensive to develop that kind of tech but it'd drastically improve your vehicle's performance and efficiency especially when it comes to track/time attack racing!! This would be revolutionary if it's gonna happen but hopefully it will (whether sooner or years to come)
The rally car is based on the Puma actually, which still strikes me as a strange choice and I imagine it's a marketing one. It's a pretty new thing, I believe new for 2022 season for rallying, I think it's a spec unit in the back of the car per regulations. What AMG do on the F1 power unit is really impressive, a lot of the power unit engineering from all the teams is to be honest. Agree with you on the aero kits, would be nice to have them be properly functional, a lot of racers tend to end up making a lot of their own bits aero wise aside from the rear wing typically as aero is so chassis specific, would be nice to see it with some proper data though from the aftermarket going "Hey it helps aero and looks cool too". Thanks for you support for the car! Should get really quick as developed, we're a tiny little student team but there's a lot of knowledge so we're hoping to be able to get some proper pace out of it as we get the funding to do so.
@@jameswhitehead03 I see, so that rally car is based on the Puma. For me, I really find it as an impressive move coz again, it improves efficiency and performance-wise. The aero kits tho, honestly, the only aftermarket company that I know that sells a full track ready widebody aero kits besides the RWB (for Porsches to be exact) is the Garage Mak which is a Japanese tuner shop that specializes for Silvias like S15, S14, other S-chassis (if I'm not wrong), also Z platforms (you can search it on Google if you want to get a more info about them but basically, they're specialize it for Tsukuba Time Attack events or Suzuka Time Attack events I guess. I've just found it on Narita Dogfight's website or page if I'm correct). I hope they still do the same thing to the modern Japanese vehicle platforms especially for the modern enthusiast who are really dedicated to compete on time attack racing!!! Oh, and don't forget about J's racing, Voltex Suzuka Racing (correct me if I'm wrong about the exact name), C West, Amuse, RE Amemiya (a dedicated tuner shop for RX-7s and RX-8s), and Garage Saurus (another aftermarket tuner that makes a track ready aero kits specifically for R32 and R34 GTRs). Spoon Sports and Mugen are already starting to develop these track/street oriented kits for their upcoming Honda models especially the new Civic Type R which is really great to hear besides the suspension, brakes, and engine mods!! Nismo on the other hand, they should also develop the 400z as well to spice things up for their hardcore Nissan fans and enthusiasts!!! The hybrid part, hopefully that AMG would pave a way for many aftermarket companies to develop a widespread products for hybrid conversions of different platforms of vehicles someday (especially to those people who are really into motorsports) but I thinks it's kinda 50/50 chance for me due to big car manufacturers that pushes full EV to a production which is a mixed feeling for most enthusiast (but for me, I don't really mind as long as they still make an enthusiast car even they're pushing this kind of new technology). Anyways, whatever your take would be on this one, I'd definitely respect it genuinely!! But yeah, again, for me, I hope they still do their tuning thing as they used to be on 70s to early 2000s to this modern era despite of the dying breeds of ICEs. I know that there's still a glimpse of hope for that.
By far my favorite z over all the time he’s been building it.. every stage is cool in its own right
seen this build evolve over the years... it's so awesome you've featured it!
I knew this was Sasha just by reading the title
I kno right soon as a read 4.2 vq I was like o shit it's that green itb z
Been following Sasha since seeing his long tube header video in the SG motorsports days back in like 09. This car’s evolution has been insane to follow.
Same, I remember seeing this Z making GOOD na power way back then and I couldnt believe it.
Super impressed with the way this guy is moving it on because not seen to many guys doing this. Love it 😎🇬🇧✌👍👊
Iv been following this build for what seems like for ever and its crazy to see here on your channel!
Sasha! ❤ Thanks Larry for doing this one, honestly, people like you & Sasha are great for the Nissan community, just a bunch of regular guys doing not so regular things.
I’ve been following this car / build since 2016/2017, its nice to see it on your channel so more people can see it.
People in the VQ community HIGHLY doubt this platform and its sad because its a proven one. Nissan is still Nissan ❤
Miss seeing this car on speed academy.
This guy is local to me I live about 20 minutes from mosport Canadian tire motorsport park and I have seen this car run there it is amazing it is so fast good job man love to see you on the channel
I tore apart my late father's 09 M5 ( rebuilt motor and new clutch and LOTS of aftermarket parts and tuning) and I thought after it was back up and running and everything was working as it was designed to do I had quite a bit of confidence in myself. I feel like an elementary school student now. Thanks Larry.
Been following this build for years. The most exciting and innovative build out there. Sascha is so knowledgeable! This is the stuff of dreams 👌
Some great older footage on speedacademy too. Great build
Sasha is a wonderful guy and super smart. Thank you for taking the time to feature his talent on your channel.
hell yeah, haven't had an update on this car in forever. that rear steer is super bad ass
Basically my dream car build right here, amazing seeing someone actually do this!
This is an absolutely brilliant build! This man deserves more recognition and hopefully he smashes his goals and I’d say with that level of development and dedication it’s going to happen for sure!
Glad this is getting its flowers, a absolute crazy build that I dont see too much of besides from Sasha himself
Speed Academy has a few vids on this car and on Sasha’s tuning prowess. Check’em out.
Bout time. Been watching this on speed academy for years
Sascha is a beast, that car should get more recognition… probably the best privately owned and built 350z.
Great dude, they were like
Larry: 2nd overall, you did good!
Sasha: 2nd place is a first looser.
Haha love it!
Amazing build, sounds insane!
What an awesome build. This kind of stuff is way more interesting than whatever the OEMs are building.
6:24 so it's like lemans prototype hypercar basically, when you rollout of the pit with the electric motor, and then when you reach certain speed, the ICE comes to live, really cool
This Channel is way too addictive…Best channel on the net. #LarryChentanyl.🤙🏼💎
YESSSSSS I'm so glad to see you finally cover this Sasha's Z! this is easily the best built 350z and probably even better than the stuff Nissan raced in the GT500 class!
This thing is insane to watch. The guys at MPP are so awesome 😎
Sasha's Z is soooo cool I first saw it on Speed Academy when it was green. I wish I knew half of the stuff he knows about hybrids imo that's the future like imagine a big turbo rb/2j with KERS?! Sign me up!
This is just an awesome piece of engineering. Great job!
Crazy, thanks for showing an incredible car.
"This is everything i know, basically put into one car." Very cool
Had the pleasure of shooting this for the SuperStreet Aug 2017 cover before the KERS addition. Bonkers to see in person.
I love this piece of engineering. One of the Sickest Z builds ever. Definitely a inspiration for my own 350z.
Greetings from z nation Germany
I've been following Sasha for several years, and that 350z is just getting crazier and crazier every time it comes out! Also really surprised that Larry haven't seen it before, but if anyone want to see more check out Speed Academy on YT they have featured it several times!
I’m not a professional or anything but maybe him being disappointed with the times has something to do with turning the hybrid power down from 150hp to only 40hp??
it isn't enough to make up 2 seconds at a track like Limerock
@@JT-ow3hq I’m sure you are correct, the rest can be regular video game variation. The owner did say that they modeled the car in Assetto Corsa, I’m sorry but that’s just a video game. If they modeled the track correctly from scratch then it will give reliable results, however you can’t expect vid game creators to visit and model every track in the world, that’s crazy.
Sasha and his Z is such a cool story to cover. Great to see it on this channel
This man is unlocking the next level in tuning.
What a car! Serious bit of kit!
Been following Sasha since the early days. He's a legend in the Z community!
Now thats a hybrid I can support awesome job
one of my all time favorite sounding cars
15:1 with just fuel/octane additive is wild. Super good to know though.
Sasha has been doing this for a long time, I still remember reading about the S14 many years ago on Ziptied. Congrats on the feature.
What a Beautiful and Chaotic looking 350Z.
Holy shit this needs more recognition
I been geeking on Sasha's Z for ages
Wow That Was Crazy That Car Was So Cool
Larry Chen AND Sasha Anis in the same video?! Am I dreaming?! Awesome content man!
That rear steering is going to change autocross. The "never understeer" is a nice touch. This will slay lap times with the dynamic of in tight cornering and high speed stability along with straight line crash braking, trail brake corner entry and mid corner turn in with all wheels, and the ability to choose to rub more tire off with toe and generate heat. I like the integration of the EV into the bell housing but that starter/clutch delete sounds rough. This is the time I wish computer controlled solenoid valve cylinder heads were available for 0 compression EV only mode. Being able to load the engine for TQ and recover KERS with it mid corner is also amazing. Super Capacitors? Batteries to rear axle, good choice. That wing is probably slowing you down with body drag, it creates a vacuum bubble below the wing, which is also along the swept back of the hatchback. If the wing was much lower it would assist the underbody aero but also be shrouded and give less downforce directly but possibly more downforce overall. What if you had a steering wheel like F1 with side grips only, but they turned like motorcycle grips to tell the system rear left and rear right steering requests, or use the clutch pedal location for a split pedal you can rock you foot on like dynamic braking in older F1.
I think by-wire front steering could be potentially very useful. Obviously there would still need to be a mechanical backup, but removing the direct connection between the steering wheel and the front axle could allow you to make dynamic steering ratio changes based on each individual corner on each individual track, 1,000+ times every second slide corrections (before a human would even notice) and potentially better integration with the rear steering.
This car is nuts watched a bunch about it a while back
Sasha is a mad man, he pretty much has a MGU-K, and ERS with a overtake function. All in a FE style E.M.U, and C.E. Using off the shelf BMW hybrid batteries and a AC/DC power inverter
car people: I want to be different.
this guy: I'm different.
give the guy a hood stand, damn Larry
Amazing build ! 👏
Been watching the development of this car for the past 4 years
this is such a cool car ...
Now THAT is a build.
Impressive is an understatement!!!!
I think most manual cars should have a kers in them, but you can put the clutch before the electric motor
Wow same like f1.nice🥳.very good.congratulation who build this car.
Lime Rock is a lovely track..
Wild. So Wild.
I love this car so much porsche sounds from a v6 is like 🥵 been watching this from green car till now
That is probably the most legendary 350z next to Forsberg drift cars
Im watch this not because the 350z. But the creativity of the tuner today. Making the craziest car ever.
But thats not mean i hate 350z. Its fine car
Super cool tech.
Tons of electronics… NA motor. It sounds so backwards but it’s awesome
I was just thinking as to whether or not I could get a car similar to this in AC but the he goes out and says that they LITERALLY MADE an AC mod to test it 😂😂😂
Any chance they can release that?
Woot!
SPACESHIP IS THE MOST UNDERRATED DEFINITION OF THIS THING , HOLY SHIT
I need those fedners and bumper
He shouldn't have mentioned that they have it in Assetto Corsa I want this really hard
I feel like a complete amateur listening to this guy and seeing this build. It's like a different dimension...
This is very cool and different
This man casually mentions that they modeled the car in Assetto Corsa and nobody is asking for download links to a mod?! I’d love to rip this thing around in sim.
wow.just wow
I'd love to do this hybrid setup on an old 280Z with an L28 to get the best of both worlds.
i saw this guys face and was like i feel like ik this guy then he said he used to run a dyno and was like yeaaahhh thats whereee but i cant remmeber the youtuber who went by him a lot.
finally Sasha gets here
Those are the standard charging lights on my Delta-Q charger on an NEV.
Winged sprint cars are known as a Outlaw or Midget which do mostly circle track racing those are what need pushed to start because starters & batteries are heavy. Not to be confused with "open wheel" hillclimb or rally sprint cars also know as "Coyotes or Wells" or " Wells Coyote" purpose built Hillclimb cars named after its creator John Wells. That have starter & battery because they are built using engines out of passenger/sports car vehicles mainly.
Sash is a legend!
It might be heavier, but it's a solid platform to build from.
So why a Z?
Well, I didn't have enough money to professionally race so I made a spaceship out of this instead.
This is truly amazing. His humility is incomprehensible. This should be the future of modifying cars.
