    There was not enough info for this truck to justify a full-length video, so it got a shorter video instead. Also, excuse the delay, we had a hurricane here in Florida.

      Glad you made it! We just got some periodic rain bands from it down here.

    Time for yet another "sales story": one of my customers at our AutoNation USA Superstore in Irvine, California tried to buy a used Chevrolet S10 pickup, which sold before his financing was approved. I sold him a late-model Isuzu Hombre instead as we had one of those in stock. Since his occupation was a pool cleaner I reminded him he was also a "Pool Hombre!" SOLD!!

      You still with Autonation? I may or may not be employed by them 😉

      @@autochatter They closed all of the used car superstores in December 1999. They did not warn anyone (as they wanted to keep selling cars), so all the employees got HUGE severance checks. Not the same as all the new retail locations still owned by AutoNation.

    Man, these take me back to my childhood in Southern California. You'd see these everywhere. I live in Texas now, but my family live in up Reno, Nevada and I am always surprised to see these still kicking around out west.

      I see a white one everyday on the way to work in someone's driveway. Looks to be in good shape too.

    I had the displeasure of selling Isuzus when these came out. The ride and drive I attended was a joke. Current Pup owners largely hated it,because it was a "Great Value" version of a S10. It think the Brazillian front and rear parts were actually the ones the S10s down there used. Awesome vid Rob!

      Yep, the South American S10 had similar parts to the Hombre.

      @MotorMaster_Stunticon Hombre IMO, was the beginning of the end for Isuzu in the U.S.

    Here in Brazil, the Isuzu Hombre was the actual S10. Was sold as a Chevy and on the name S10... Even had two facelift and a second gen in 2012 based on the Colorado.

    Isuzu's own pickup was, by far, more interesting than the stupid Hombre.

    Being the "Family Dollar" version of the S-10 is what it great though, You can buy a Hombre dirt cheap and throw a SBC in it plus all the parts off a S-10/S-15 will bolt right on........

    • @MotorMaster_Stunticon
      @MotorMaster_Stunticon  13 днів тому

      Agreed. Being the Family Dollar variant isn’t a bad thing. It’s actually quite good-getting the same build quality/ reliability as the S10, all at a cheaper price with a better warranty.

      @@MotorMaster_Stunticon Yep plus now you can buy them dirt cheap and put a SBC in them and everything bolts right up, The Madza B-Series are the samething with the 2nd and Generation Ford Ranger. the 93-2011 Mazda B-Series trucks are just a rebadged Ranger.

    i have a 2000 Isuzu hombre, barebones, roll up windows, manual transmission, 4 cylinder, single cab, but man does that truck do what i need it to do. Great little work horse without all the extra BS like the new trucks of today.

    • @MotorMaster_Stunticon
      @MotorMaster_Stunticon  13 днів тому

      Exactly. Simple, basic work trucks like these were the best.
      The simplicity of these trucks meant that there were less things to break, haha.

    I have a single cab '98 Isuzu Hombre that an old tenant left abandoned in one of my properties... Not sure what to do with it but I never knew how bad these pickups really were. Lol smh

    • @MotorMaster_Stunticon

      I mean, he abandoned it and a car can really only turn into junk if it’s neglected or if it’s just poorly built. You be the judge
