Hey Napolitain! Great game man! Now I would like to make you aware of something in this video that I think is a bit unfair. If you check the exchange at 11:13 and the Trade info at 11:25 didn't the Zerg lose way more than just 3 Banelings there? I mean I think you targeted down 3 Banelings but a Baneling that attacks is always a lost Baneling though and should definitely be part of the trade. That is a pretty decently sized mistake from Hamster's part, wouldn't you agree?
I think Napolitain is right. I've been playing Terran all my life and it does seem hard. Also just pretty boring. It takes your whole life just to afford to buy a house.
You know for awhile I thought Iodis was going to kill Harstem with sheer disappointment. You can actually see the downward trajectory. But we've been watching higher level replays lately and it looks like the Captain is having a good time again.
Seems like a young player who knows how to improve and has the skills, just growth in understanding the game will lead him/her to GM. Time and attention.
E.g. I am Plat 1 Terran, tried this build - nope. It's too difficult for me even without microing units and without micro it doesn't make any sense. It's tough, he did good job but ultimately fails at the same spot, multitasking.
Thats how most diamond/plat are like. Good at macroing or microing but suck at the other. I have seen someone play like a high gm before at 3k. How are they at 3k then you might ask? Because they down a 100 supply at the 10 minute mark from such a terrible early game. Yet the instant late game/midgame starts they have multiple armies with all the spellcasters in both sets and juggling units Oh yeah wanna add. Even spent his money macroing(though not like there is much to spend)
That build order is really difficult to execute, microorganisms the banshee and hellion while keeping up the macro is the main reason I don’t suggest these kind of builds. He’s be better off with a 3 base opener
Every time a new one of these videos come out I think we had reached the peak before then but Hamster always seems to set the bar higher every time. This is really cool.

Hey I know this is meant to be a funny video series sorta thing, but I actually learnt a lot for my own TvZ matchup. Also around the same MMR as mr. Napolitain. This is great 😂😂
This was so educational. Thanks for the good work. My favourite part was at 30:07; "Do not follow these instructions" Looool, you actually tested that after thinking about it, don't you? And then the "i" at the end to clear up that the tanks never got out is gold xd. BTW: It'd have been so much funnier if you said "fantastic" and adding the "suck" mark just when you said "boom" at the end, that'd have been hilarious.
yeah I think he looked at a different exchange and edited it in or something. There were no mines built at that moment in time, a tank died instead of the 2 mines displayed. Happens to the best (the best also being known as hamster)
18:35 had me cracking up. Hamster should have slowed down the repeat of the sentence, though, it was a bit confusing on the first watch. IODIS always the highlight of SC2 week. Thanks to both of you guys.
I actually think the main problem in this game was move commanding the army when it was in lots of little chunks spread around the place. So I guess you could also say the problem was not getting the army grouped up fast enough. But it seemed like T only realised the need to get the army together when a fight had already started, and at that point issued an F2 move command to try to consolidate. No need for crazy micro, just get that one aspect sorted and I'm pretty sure T would be masters.
I also don't think they sieged a single tank all game despite clearly seeming like they wanted to move onto creep to bait units into the line of fire from them.
Great video! I learned a lot. However I wonder if you commented from the zergs perspective if you would have drawn the same conclusion. It looks like the Zerg had similar, if not worse, engagement prep, micro, and myopic strategy. But Zerg won nonetheless. I’m a diamond Zerg trying to learn all races, and it’s been a challenge raising my Terran above gold. It does seem like Zerg has such an easier time recovering from bad fights and engaging. As Zerg I don’t need to follow strict build orders but can just scout and react to opponents , I don’t need to micro. I can a-move Ling runbys, but try a-moving marine and tank drops and they die. During engagements There’s just so much more that a Terran has to do: splitting, dropping, stim, siege up or burrow, etc while dropping mules and placing and constructing buildings, whereas Zerg I can just a-move and box units and macro is a simpler matter of queen injects and only have to build a building once. Expansion is just a hatchery vs build a CC and then convert to PF or orbital. Just a matter of a few more clicks but it scales not much more micromanaging that a T must do. At least In the lower leagues I do think T is much harder and Imba.
The zerg used all his units, and fought on creep with full vision. The terran sent half of his army, and half of that weren't used at all (unsieged tanks, widow mines nowhere, liberators on siege), marines running into banelings, and engaging on creep. I like how you pretend to be a zerg main downplaying how hard zerg is and how easy terran is, though. The fact that you talk like building an orbital is harder than queen inject is utterly hilarious. And lol just a-moving as zerg. Clearly, you've never actually played. The fact that this terran thinks that he should be able to beat speed banelings on creep with pure marines and half his army shows just how OP terran armies are.
@@NestedQuantifier I guess different aspects of each race comes more naturally for different people. Zerg does play more easily for me than Terran, but I accept it's the other way around for you and others... it's all good. I've lost countless engagements when i'm trying to double or triple prong my attack, but botch my timings with separate drop, stim, seige the tanks, seige the libs, spread, pickup, retreat each army at the same time. A few mistimings, and suddenly all my peeps are gone. zerg, at least the styles I play (ling/bane/muta, ling/bing/hydra, roach/hyra, etc.) require a few less microclicks (click in, spread, kite, click out) In response to your comment about orbital vs queen injects being hilarious, i would compare queen injects to orbital-dropping mules. both are necessary to keep up on macro economy. however, whereas queen injects can be queued, mule drops require more precise timing. i tend to fall behind in that aspect. But hey, cheers to you if terran's easier for you. obviously we all have stuff to improve otherwise we'd all be GMs. so i accept diff races may be easier to diff folks.
@@NestedQuantifier Lol. Just because he's unbiased means he's "pretending to be a Zerg main". Grow up, dude. I play both races equally at 4300 (Random Main in Masters 3) and he's absolutely correct. Terran macro is just harder, there's just way more stuff to do and the build orders are way more complex, you can't build every unit from the same building and you can't build supply without looking at your base. NTM the reason the Zerg's army was together is because he just F2s everywhere. It was no display of skill from the Zerg, it's just F2ing everywhere because the Zerg doesn't use runbys. Terran has to try not to do that or they'll pull back all their drops/liberators/clump up too much for the banelings. In fact, I even had a TvZ earlier today that I lost and the Zerg offensive GGd and flamed my multitasking... I told him it's because that matchup is easier for Zerg and he didn't believe me so I challenged him to play me in ZvZ and I beat him decisively. Ask anyone who mains random at 4k+ which Race is harder to play a Macro ZvT with. If I'm particularly tired or high then I'll usually ladder Zerg because then I can just mass drones/units and F2 around the map.

i really like your analogies, but the one at 13:55 about landmines is a bit funny because i have to imagine you standing on the battlefield (of course with your captains beret on) holding a machine gun and firing thousands of shells randomly into the ground in front of you hoping to hit some hidden mines :-)
At 27:24 I lost it. HE FARTED ON THE WORKERS!
At 24:21, the captains face says it all lol
34:45 is my favourite moment 👍🏼
Okay I'm kidding don't ban me cptn... 14:45 was legit hilarious! Also great edits Hamster, really impressed by the extra bar with Clem's info, you're a solid editor for real!
27:28 You really don't want any SCVs taking damage from your corruptors

18:09 best part by far, couldn't stop laughing. xD
I feel like Zerg has gone back to monke. They have realized that there's still so much strategy to be had with just ling/bane.
2:00 He refers to macro
Spending time on microung is indeed bad at a low level
Maslow would have been proud of you. Nice analysis.
Can we get Hamster a raise for the killer edits?! Made the video so enjoyable.
10:20, he did say he got a lot worse by the time he lost his banshees. So, his claims of being as good as a GM on NA are propably correct?
