    I believe they fixed the oil drain problem. Mine is a couple months old and the drain plug sticks our a bit further to make it easier to drain.

      Good evening, thank you for taking the time to check out our video! Yes they have fixed that issue with the new release after it being taken off the shelf for almost 2 months! And for the original models they sell an oil drain extension, honestly I’m just gonna keep mine the way it is as I’m hoping soon to upgrade to the next size up model as our electrical needs have grown since getting this model! It has been great to us, and I strongly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a generator this size!

    13:43 Take care of that air filter. It is a washable filter. Use Dawn dish liquid. Dry and make sure to re-oil the filter per the manual. I cannot find this filter anywhere without buying the whole airbox, so be gentle with it. Last recourse may be to buy generic filter material and cut to fit.

    Some information that might help - the latest version of this generator comes with a drain plug extender so it doesn't drain onto the frame. It also has an updated crankcase cover design that angles the oil fill outward so a normal funnel can be used. It may be possible to buy these parts separately to update yours.
    Seems like this engine was designed for different applications and they only recently patched things to make it fit the layout of the generator better.
    On the plus side, your carburetor has a drain screw and hose to make emptying it mess-free. The newer versions don't have this anymore, just a bolt that dumps gas right onto the frame. Had no luck finding this part to add to my generator, unfortunately. Two steps forward, one step back!

    Update as of 11-22-20:
    Since buying this generator we’ve ran it roughly 750-800 hours in the 15 months we’ve had it! It’s a trooper to say the least, I would recommend it to Sombody looking for this size generator, it has handled everything I’ve put it though. And I would buy it again. Although I do plan to upgrade to the next size up before next fall as our power needs have grown since purchasing this one, upgrading from this one has nothing to do with quality or service from the generator itself, it is due to our growing power usage and needs for off grid living!

      Hi there. Thank you so much for checking out our video. As far as the sound, it is understood that they make noise. Most people do not camp on top of one another and a lot of people do use them as well. Here in the LTVA (Long Term Visitor Area) quiet time is 10 p.m. so everyone shuts them down for the evening. You of course, can encounter rude people, but we have not had any complaints or problems from anyone. >^..^

    • @chunky2515
      @chunky2515 3 роки тому

      Our generator is listed as a “quiet” inverter generator, so it’s not only quieter than a regular generator it’s made to be safe for sensitive electronics, it has been a great addition to our set up and I recommend it to everyone! 3400 running watts 4000 starting watts ( so it runs our entire trailer including our 8000 BTU A.C )
      So if your looking for one I highly recommend it!

    Do you unplug your appliances accessories,the extension cords at the generator? before you restart it ..refuel it.? Do you put gas in it before it runs out! That's one of the main things I need to know does it mess up the generator? Can you explain these questions please Scott from Texas..!

    • @scottfortney8889
      @scottfortney8889 3 роки тому

    • @BuckeyeKitty
      @BuckeyeKitty  3 роки тому

      Good morning, let us start by saying thank you so much for your question! This Ryobi generator is very resilient and can definitely handle a lot, we have put ours through all kinds of hell, and it’s still keeps going! always refill your gas before it runs out, makes for easier restarts, we turn off major things like heaters, A.C units, etc before shutting down, we do leave our main travel trailer plug, plugged into the generator as it Dosent draw much with major items powered off! I hope this helps, we hope you have a great day, be safe out there!

    I just got the Australian version of this. The electrical outlets are slightly different but everything else is the same.
    I'm trying to work out what the clear tube is that comes off the bottom of the carburetor. It can bee seen to the left of the air filter at the 5:45 mark.
    Any ideas?

    • @BuckeyeKitty
      @BuckeyeKitty  Рік тому

      Good afternoon, thanks for your question! The clear tube off the bottom of the carb is an overflow tube for the carb, if the float in the carb should happen to malfunction and the float bowl would overflow it would allow the fuel to escape instead of getting into parts of the generator you don’t want it! Thanks for checking out our video!
