I bought this watch last summer and it's absolutely amazing. The price/quality is really good. I need reading glasses too and have the same experience as you reading the date. But that is a minor issue.
It's great to hear your thoughts on this model Guy. Like you bronze is not my preferred material for a case or bracelet for the same reasons you mention but this one has a character that appeals. I'm a fan of the big crown pointer date, I have the larger one on a strap with the ox blood dial that has the same dial and handset architecture as the review model. My sight isn't great being err... the other side of forty but I can still read it but agree it's not as easy as say a decent date window. The plus side is (assuming you can read the smaller date font on the chapter ring) is that it can be read regardless of the time as it's not obscured by the hour and minute hands. It's also a classic look as well. The cal 400 blue small seconds version looks great but apart from the extra cost it looses the classic cathedral hands and art deco numeral font but still looks really good and super readable IMHO.
I love the Oris Pointer Date in 36. The date was almost invisible to me on that. I do, however, love this model although not in bronze. The 36 wore small and even the 40 wears smaller than most 40mm watches.
ORIS JUST DON’T PULL IN THE CROWD EH?! I really like this one Guy and in-fact it’s probably the only bronze watch I’d consider!! Great as always my friend!!!
Bought this one to commemorate the birth of my first. No better way to feel old and regal, than buying a watch that’s been in production since the 30’s. The patina’d bronze authenticates the look.
Up for debate on the Oris quality. They have launched cal400 on a 38mm BigCrown. From the design POV, love the Oris 65 and the BigCrown line. Mostly LE or original

Nice but I was hoping you would have covered the improvements on the Rolex Tortuga😄!
You should link that video in the comments.
Great watch 👍🏻 Love the bronze but would prefer the blue or red dial. Thx for the vid 👌🏻

Imagine this watch in rose gold or yellow even. Ohhh that would be amazing.

What some everyday watches under $2,500 you'd recommend?
Bronze is beautifull and is best served on a leather strap. Going full bronze on the bracelet is ambitious but I would be hesitant.
Watched the entire video and you never gave an opinion on weather this is a everyday watch or not...or did I miss it?
Well if you want a green wrist...
Love the design but not the material. A 38mm variant with cal.400 and steel case would probably join my collection.
nice watch... but not a fan of bronze watch... cheers
No it cannot, as the tarnishing is too annoying. No idea why it was decided to put it in a watch. Avoid
Why can't you apply body lotion before you put it on ?
Certainly not.
UUUUUUUUUUUGLY
