Don't know why this was recommended; alas, as a cyclist I have a few pointers that you might want to use for your safety and safety of other road users. 1- Posting a UA-cam video that you clearly break quite a few rules in the first 40 seconds is not very clever. You could have simply passed the junction and waited at the far side for the light turning green. It's a hassle to wait; but, it's safer and legal. If there are pedestrian crossing lights, you can use the buttons to change the light. 2- Lane control is safer when you are riding at the speed limit or close enough to it. You were riding at 19 mph(?) (assuming it's US, as metric countries don't have speed limits ending in 5) in a section of road with 35 mph posted limit, which is almost double your speed. In this case you can't take the centre of the lane with two solid yellow lines prohibiting passing/speeding. So you either can take the centre of the lane and pull over every 10 seconds to let faster vehicles by or you can take the right side of the lane while avoiding road furniture/hazards and not weaving in and out. 3- Just because you ride on the edge of the road, it doesn't mean other drivers feel comfortable to pass you without giving wide breadth to you (thus crossing the double solid line). You should be aware of cars behind you and indicate to them that you know they're behind and they can pass you safely without leaving the lane. If you had just gestured using your left hand that the last driver can safely pass you; then that last incident would have been completely avoided. All in all, taking the whole lane on a single lane with double solid yellow lines is rather asking a lot of other people when you're riding at half the speed limit. If you were driving a car, Police would have issued you a ticket for driving needlessly slow. So you can't do the same as a cyclist. If you want to be safe then you need to actually communicate with other road users about your intentions and that way you would make it safer for everyone involved.

ORC 4511.132 permits the cyclist to proceed through the intersection after coming to a stop at the red light and making sure to yield right of way to traffic that has the green light. 2 - Yes, in Ohio, he can take the center of the lane. No offense Arash, but i don’t think you are being very helpful with your prescriptions. Your own descriptions of best practice undermine themselves when you expand on the scenario and factor in all the variables (such as garbage or debris in the right lanes). While i agree that 19 mph is a tad slow in a 35, it is not op’s responsibility to communicate and signal to every car that happens by.
Also i’ve been pulled over a couple times on a bike but it was never for going “too slow”. Cops don’t actually ticket people for that ever, at least in my limited experience. Maybe if you were riding a beach cruiser on the interstate.
@@JamesOblak I was not aware of 4511.132, so apparently I can go through a red light if there is no vehicle detector, or if it fails to detect my bicycle, but however, most detectors are designed to detect automobiles, because they have more metal to detect them, unlike bicycles.
@@Mdb8900 I have been pulled over a few times myself. The 1st time I was not on a bike path adjacent to the road which I was traveling on. Never got a citation. Pulled over a gain a few years later for not staying to the far right, in a 10 foot travel lane. The 3rd time I was stopped for, again, not staying to the far right, this time, on an 11.5 foot lane. All of them never got a ticket over.
I got as far as 45 seconds in. You're a dangerous driver. I refuse to call you a cyclist, as you're not one, and don't cycle like one. It's persons on two wheels like you who make it dangerous for the rest of us. Learn to follow the rules of the road.
I am a very safe rider, as I have over 70,000 miles under my belt in the metro Toledo area. The reason why I did what I did is because the light detector fails to detect my vehicle, but after learning about 4511.132, this will never be happening again( not that you are a LEO). There was no traffic, and I endangered nobody, and I made sure there was no cross traffic before I crossed, even though the motorbike was closing in at speed, I may have misjudged slightly) so I don't appreciate the fact that you call me a dangerous rider. Why are you honking? The driver goes around you. The risks they take with others is not your concern really.
The risks with others are certainly the cyclist's concern. If those two cars crashed, one could be sent flying into the cyclist.
