The cure, the smiths and depeche mode, and at the time i took all that music for granted, kinda assuming music would just keep on an upward trajectory. How wrong i was and how i wish i was a teenager again tp experience the 80s all over again.
@@Darrenski I could not have put it any better. As a 63 year old Brit I yearn for those wonderful times and sounds. Try listening to a German Goth/Shoegaze band called Seasurfer, especially the tracks "Stay" and "Dragon Song" (on You Tube...Dragon Song version with lyrics on screen. Yes, I agree with you. The Cure has great buildups! In the intros Robert Smith is sure to set the mood, and follows up with stellar vocals. Then he wrap it up by bringing you down gently from the rockin high❣️
Yes. Lots of people slate his playing but he plays the exact bass line for the song. He doesn't need to show off popping and slapping and what not. His playing perfectly fits the song and as a bass player what else does he need to do? Nothing. It's perfect as it is.
I think I have seen them more than 15 times live. First time in 1992. They never disappoint. For me the best band with the best lyrics, melodies, guitars, emotions, voice.... Love them till I die. Thank you for reacting to them. You should take the time to listen to the Album Disintegration, every song on it is a masterpiece.
Envy you terribly. They only toured Australia twice in the 80s, once in 1980 (I was a bit too young @ 13yo) and once in 1984 (was in hospital a lot that year)
Do yourself a favour. If they are in your country get to a concert of theirs, they wont be around for much longer. One of the greatest guitar driven bands of all time. They used to often end their shows with this song. It was really good because that slightly spooky bass line could just be extended and echoed. Perfect ending.
Their live stuff(recorded) definitely lacks that studio nerd quality. They had some great audio engineers working with them or they became engineers themself.
@@OldWhatever That is often how many bands are. The Cure, and the engineers/producers who worked with them are so damned good in the studio though. The title song from the album, and the song that is specifically named 'Disintegration'...is just so smooth on the studio recording. I love that song. They perhaps had a bit of steely dan in their veins when they were in the studio.
If you ever get a chance to see them live, I highly recommend it. They play for three hours and then do encores. They truly respect and love their fans and you can’t beat their musical range and the atmosphere they create.
I love the Cure. I'm the same age as the lead singer. LOL. Are you still doing music reaction videos? If so, I don't think you've done a reaction to Supertramp? If you do, please make sure its live versions from 1977 and any video from live in Paris 1979. I suggest "Child of Vision", "School", "Another Man's Woman" "Goodbye Stranger" and "Crime of the Century". You won't be disappointed.
React to The Cure's Fascination Street or Spiderman, or Love Song... OMG there are jus too many... Pick any one of there songs... You won't be disappointed...
This is the 2nd reaction video of yours of The Cure. To answer a question you had in your reaction to their song Fascination Street, yes, I've seen them once. This was decades ago. My seat was the furthest away from the stage of any band that I've seen, and I've seen a ton of bands. Don't remember much about it because I was so pissed at the distance from the stage and how I had to mostly rely on the large screens they had. Stadium shows suck, but that's not why I'm writing. Like with your choice of the live performance of Fascination Street, there are way better performances of this seminal song than the one you picked. Both those songs were done way better in the earlier days than what you're choosing. I'm old now, but I don't wanna see old man Robert Smith when there are so many versions of this song by them that were done when they were young and hungry. By the time of this performance, you can tell that Smith and other long-term members of the band have done this song literally thousands of times. They're just phoning it in. I like that you're looking at these bands. I'd like it even more if you picked times in their career when they and their songs really meant something.
As a guy from that time, it gives me a lot of pleasure watching a new generation appreciating this great band. Nobody sounds like The Cure.
Literally no one sounds like them. Imagine being a musician how invented a sound for an upcoming era

Many tried to copy and failed. Many new bands say The Cure inspired them.

One of my favorites by The Cure. ♥️A Forest♥️
"The Cure don't let you down" amazing quote.

Bass lines are truly sick.
YEP! Gallup is so under appreciated. Dude is a machine. Never makes a mistake live.

This is a dance your ass off song. Love them!!
Robert is a poetic genius. I’d like to see your take on their song Burn. The lyrics are amazing and the unique use of the penny whistle is eerie
I chat to Simon Gallup occasionally!
The cure even had tracks played in Acid house parties in the late 80s .
What a friggin song by a killer band
Fantastic true reaction on concert! 👍
Adogg, if you get a chance to see them live, you should. It will blow your mind. Glad to see you are enjoying The Cure. 😉
Adogg, your spirit shines so bright I need sunglasses to watch your videos. Love your handsome face and your sincere reactions.

I once ran 20 miles non stop listening to this song most of the way! Incredible. That low end in the intro? OMG!!!
so cool you picked a live performance, just gives you that extra vibe
The Cure rocks, especially their long epic songs.
I occasionally chat to Simon Gallup the legendary bassist of The Cure too.
They used to often end their shows with this song. It was really good because that slightly spooky bass line could just be extended and echoed. Perfect ending.
I like this band very much, It makes me miss the dance club I would go to every weekend and dance to this music.
The Best alternative band ever
the best band, stop
This was my favorite Cure group. Simon Gallup, Boris Williams, Porl Thompson, Roger O'Donnell and of course Robert.
ok the live versions are very good but I don't think it's the best way to appreciate how wonderful this song is
Yes it is , but honestly I'd check out lives from 1979-1992
Their live stuff(recorded) definitely lacks that studio nerd quality. They had some great audio engineers working with them or they became engineers themself.
Try turning the volume WAY UP and listening again. I love their recordings to death, but their live shows are exponentially more awesome, imo.

Im a metal head at heart, I love the Cure, saw them in 1988. A Forest is a cool song! Listen all thier 80s albums

The Cure 👑 King of rock
React to the 1992 live version, the best version there is
Yes!! 100% the best version!
A Forrest and Push are their two best live songs. Glad you enjoyed.
Push is hugely underrated.
That bass is awesome. Studio is even better.
No mobile phones to see. Everybody listen to the music...that was a time. I miss it
I am getting my vinyl sleeve of A Forest signed by ORIGINAL keyboardist Matthieu Hartley! - C
That's one hell of a variation! What concert is this?!
Looks like you were taking a ride. Awesome reaction.
o man....thats my youth😁
Groove Factor 10! Great pick!!
I really enjoyed your reaction to this great song.

Love this.My favourite though has to be "Lovesong" *Adele does an amazing cover). Watched ,as always ,until the end.x
Adele butchered it.
Watched the whole video

Up the rams 😁
The Cure’s Gothic stuff was their best. I hated the music that went top 40 in the USA.
Hi there, s another great Cover... Try:Smoke Blow-a forest, live Punpe(it, s a German hard Core Band.. 😁🎸
This is pretty much the cure's beethoven's fifth
Well he likes the green light... voice, guitar... no green light.

Creepiest song ever ....but genius 😊
The cure is one of the few bands the ARE better in person

not the best version but hey ho
Crap photography messed it all.......
it would be kind if you would write that you react the live version...so this is clickbaiting and gets a thumb down. I don´t like this version.
