Just finished watching the two trilogies and here i am crying like a kid while listening to the song. Oh how i miss the fellowship, feels like im one of them now. May this masterpiece reach more generations so they could feel what we've felt and learned. Kudos to the team!!
One of my all time favorite videos to watch! The way the scenes and music shift and crescendo together is really stunning! I never get tired of watching this and hearing this great song!
I can still remember when Ed Sheeran shared in one of his interviews that he was a bit drunk when he received a short noticed email to do the music for this movie. Glad he happens to open his email and work on the music (and even finish it, if I remember it right) that same night.
It's been out for roughly 7 years. If I didn't make any mistakes, then on this video alone: 137 643 listenes per day if we even it out. 40 467 093 seconds of listening per day. 11 240 hours of listening per day. About 8 people listening to it in every minute. Let's count 25% of it since it isn't new, and you're always listening with one other person. Keep in mind that if people listen it on loop, it only counts once, but they might be listening for a long time. .. and I count twice, since I'm listening with my friend right now. We're here with you, dear unknown person!
@@SylvesterLazarus yeah, im currently listening too. i have a question, that what you said sounds like something from r/showerthoughts, do you have a calculator in your shower? no offense
@@havochurricane5660 I sound like a showering thought by default. And my friend always sounds like someone who came from a book. Add the two together and this is what you get.
This is a perfect song, as it shows the horrific destruction and tragedy of fire, as it rises in intensity and power so do the vocals, but that fire isn’t evil, it’s Nature, and Nature is unsympathetic.
I generally don't care much about Ed Sheeran, but I went to the cinema and when the movie was over and this song started, I remained in the room until the very last chord just as if the movie itself wasn't finished yet, and all the way back home it was in my mind as if i went to the cinema more because of the song than of the movie. Simply amazing. And great movie too, of course.
It always reminds me of maybe the best holiday i had as a kid 🥲. Back when the second Hobbit film came into the movies i was in a holiday with my parents in Warnemünde and we saw the movie there in a 4D cinema. That was really nice and that song played in the credits. :/. Its good to remember but i somehow also miss these times. And everytime when the Tauriel and Kili soundtrack plays, i cry my ass off.
@@po-ta-to4159 Hey, don't be so pessimistic. After all, this character was created by a REAL man. J.R.R Tolkien believed what he wrote. And this statement is straight out facts☺️
Remeber Tolkein fought in the Battle of the Somme, when he descibed the desolation of Snaug, he was drawing upon the memorries of German planes appearing on the Horizan and bombing nearby cities in one of the most destructive battles of WWI. Ed Sheran definitely captured how Tolkein must have felt in the trenches with his fellow soldier.
Bobby Higginbotham dude wtf? your grammar is the worst here, therefore your statement is invalid, and you sound like a moron. it's 2015, enough of the racist shit.
Bobby Higginbotham somebody going to use that pretty little bitchmade mouth for something useful. do yourself and everyone else a favor and disable all social media accounts you use. no one needs to know you exist let alone what feeble, childish, idiotic thoughts that are trapped in that tiny brain of yours.
People may think Tolkien's works are pure fantasy, but I say it's much deeper than that. Tolkien's works are actually about Life itself. The constant strife between different races like elves, men and dwarves are just like ours. The eternal battle between the duality of good and evil. The storytelling of hope and love in the most dire times is worth fighting for. Tolkien's works tell us the battles and suffering we go through in life, and in the darkest times, always cling onto hope , hope is what makes life worth living.
Yeah and the one ring to rule them all is about the lust for power that causes so much strife that everyone giants dwarves hobbits elves etc. all suffer collectively as a result.
if only people could remember what if felt like as a kid. To be the hero to do good an feel good about it. that is a feeling that could change the world

I can’t believe it’s almost been five years since Battle of Five Armies was released... good times.
Damn that was 5 years ago already?
Pretty shite series. They were disgraceful compared to the lotr series. bad writing, character development, plot holes. But this song is epic.
Nocturnal I don’t think they were, but yes, this song is amazing :)
i dunno how they managed to fuck up that bad with hobbit
The best trilogy on earth👌🏻
Just finished watching the two trilogies and here i am crying like a kid while listening to the song. Oh how i miss the fellowship, feels like im one of them now. May this masterpiece reach more generations so they could feel what we've felt and learned. Kudos to the team!!
It’s hard to explain but this song is perfect! If I ever have children, I’ll use this song as a lullaby.
In my opinion this is Ed‘s best song ever

One of my all time favorite videos to watch! The way the scenes and music shift and crescendo together is really stunning! I never get tired of watching this and hearing this great song!
I can still remember when Ed Sheeran shared in one of his interviews that he was a bit drunk when he received a short noticed email to do the music for this movie. Glad he happens to open his email and work on the music (and even finish it, if I remember it right) that same night.
This song does something to my soul that I can't put into words...

The best explanation for it is it majorly relaxes me but also doesn’t...?

fun fact: millions of people listen to this song every day and there's a good chance you're listening with someone else. you're not alone
No shit
It's been out for roughly 7 years. If I didn't make any mistakes, then on this video alone:
137 643 listenes per day if we even it out.

I've reeatched The Hobbit and The Lord of the Ring for many times. This song still be the best gem I've found during the films❤
This is a perfect song, as it shows the horrific destruction and tragedy of fire, as it rises in intensity and power so do the vocals, but that fire isn’t evil, it’s Nature, and Nature is unsympathetic.
Not all facets of nature are unsympathetic friend

When I first heard this after the movie I cried such a good song great voice to choose to sing it it'll never not give me full body chills ❤️

yes it is my friend TX infinity balance
I can't explain the feelings.
Satisfaction, sadness and nostalgia all combined.
Ya love to feel it tho
Neither do I
This is so nostalgic
There is no need to explain anything :) We already know.
I feel the same way. I'm not really a fan of this type of music but this song is different for me
Yes. yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Same here, its amazing!

ExoticMonkey02 GOT ME THERE BRO... GOOD COME BACK... ILL USE THAT ONE LATER
This song was the best part of the movie
"The world is not only in the books and maps. It's out there". Gandalf
Said a character from a book that's better than the real world
I read this. In his voice.

To be the hero to do good an feel good about it. that is a feeling that could change the world
Not to mention Lord of the rings and the hobbit are fundimentally a catholic work of art. He truly was an author for all generations
And how even the smallest person can change the world if they have the courage to try
i mean, tolkien allways got mad when someone called lotr fantasy, some pepole theorized he based it off a lost part of history that he found
The day this video was released was the day my daughter was born. I’ll never forget it. Now we sing to it! The Hobbit; underrated trilogy
I see fire; ed's underrated song
It is because people compare Hobit to the LotR . And nothing can compare to LotR.
@@Manysdugjohn You should know that there is nothing to compare. Both the Trilogies are made by the same Director. I myself like LOTR better but TH isn't that bad as people manifest it.
@@HayDayEveryday That is exactly what I am saying. People expected the hobbit to be as good as the LOTR .. but nothing can be as good as LOTR.
