That's why stories like Night Stalker became huge despite the relatively low victim count. More than 1/2 the people being killed by hit and run drivers, stabbings and shootings are innocent bystanders. Their worst crime was potentially their bad voting habits. It went from "cuz the boyz in da hood are always hard" to YG telling gangs how to identify and break into Asian households.

I've actually have taken that bus route, in that same area. That silver line goes all the way from El Monte to San Pedro. It used to be so crowded that people would have to exit the bus just to let other passengers off at the stops as it goes along the 110 freeway. I'm glad I have access and don't have to take the Metro.
It’s a super crowded bus…my mom and sis take that bus to leave from work. The same bus 2 years ago I would take all the way to el monte. Uni students take the bus and every day normal people to work. I am baffled on the uptick in crime and CA is not stopping this. Our govt is failing 🙂↕️

Back in the 80's during my elementary school days when it used to be RTD it wasn't that dangerous back in the days when Ronald Reagan was President. Since the 90s started that's when the problems begin with the buses when Bill Clinton was President unfortunately🙄.

Do you know why one virtually NEVER sees these types of things on public transport in places like Norway, Finland, Denmark etc...because those countries have:
1) A keen understanding of _how to behave in public, and also while utilizing public transport._
2) *Universal* health care systems with robust _mental_ health care.
3) Very little homelessness in general, homeless drug addicts of the fentanyl/meth/tranq using variety in particular, and/or the destructive _'mentally ill-homeless-drug addict'_ combo that is so often behind the violence we see on public transit in the US.
4) And last, but not least...clean, convenient, efficient, well-appointed public transport options, because they understand that public transport is an essential component for a functioning society, and NOT a place for the *dregs* of society.
The drivers are getting reenforced violence protection equipment. The rides will still get stabbed.
So now if a blk male, in particular, comes around me on one of the trains or buses and I instantly move, or turn right around if one of them is boarding an elevator at the same time as me, it's completely understandable right *?* As a Woman traveling by herself and all these violent news cases coming out like a domino effect, you should be able to understand why that's no longer really "racist". 👍🏼
