This is Angelina at her most adorable, singing an old Tom Jones hit, at least from my memory of the '60s. Angelina was beyond superlatives when it comes to her singing abilities at that tender age. Hell, she was magnificent!

Absolutely a fabulous reaction ! Most importantly Angelina is in the studio for the first time in her life with her grandmother Mery recording it. Having a technician to set everything up and singing an iconic song. Imagine being 6 years old. So confident and fearless and delivering an unbelievably mind-blowing performance. Angela is Norwegian and is 6 years old. Singing in another language reading from a script and is able to put so much soul into her vocals. It's uncanny. Close your eyes. You'll never believe what you're seeing if you open them. This is why we love our barefoot princess who is a humble, sincere, compassion and loving soul. She has maintained this throughout her short life and as she turns 18, next week has become a stunningly beautiful young woman with a more magnificent voice than ever. She will be a global star that is beyond question. But most importantly to her angels, as we are known, she'll always be our barefoot princess. Her whole goal in life was to bring joy, happiness, and peace to the world when she sings. And that's what she does. And I want to thank you personally for continuing your wonderful journey with our barefoot princess. Your channel is so important and so much appreciated in the UA-cam community. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman.
Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on UA-cam. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz.
Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. At age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old.

Angelina Jordan deserves all the credit for her hard work over the past 12 years or so. There are only a few vocalists who ploughed the same amount of work, time and energy into their craft in their childhood.
Great reaction, shame you shut your eyes when she got excited when she hit a note! You will love that bit if you watch it again. I know what you mean about being worried by watching little kids singing, but Angelina is the exception, she loves it, it is what she was born to do. Check her out at 18 months singing a Whitney number if you don’t believe me!
Most parents wouldn't know what to do if their child had Angelina's talent (especially since no one else in her family is particularly musical). Fortunately for Angelina, her grandma Mery was also a child prodigy (in visual art & poetry) and was familiar with the issues Angelina would face. This helps Angelina's family cope with her talent (like moving from Oslo to LA at the age of 12 so she could develop her music career, but still protecting her as a child). I submit that Angelina is the "perfect storm" for vocal artistry: In addition to family support, she has exceptional physical characteristics for singing (huge & flexible larynx, tremendous control of her breath, tongue, mouth shape, very long vocal chords, etc.), exceptional musicianship (knowledge of musical & vocal techniques, styles, etc.) and an exceptional ear (for pitch, timing, and various techniques like vocal fry, rasp, vibrato, distortion, riffs & runs, etc.). She has worked hard from a very early age, studying every icon in popular music for the last 100 years, and can emulate many of them (so she can sound like anyone from Billie Holiday to Elvis Presley to Amy Winehouse if she wants). I fully agree: there has never been a six-year-old who could sing like Angelina does here -- and there may never be another. Moreover, she continues to develop her talents to this day. I can only say I'm glad to be alive in the "Age of Angelina"!
Big Papa D, at 4:45 of your reaction you were covering your eyes and missed Angelina's excitement at nailing the first high notes .... so adorable.
To be honest, this performance is really quite expected from her at 6 when you
realize she sang her first 'Whitney' song when she was 1-1/2. She did it in her
mom's bed as she sang into a hand 'mic'.
Angelina was already singing with an adult-like voice at 10 years old - worth checking out!
I was a bit bummed when you stopped it the first time, but when you backed it up to start over I thought, "OK, hell get to see it this time, and then just as it was about to happen, you leaned back, rubbed your eyes and missed it. Her excitement on hitting those notes is one of my favorite parts of this video. You'll have to go back and watch it later.
DAMMIT 🙄- nodded-off and missed ANOTHER of my OWN freaking PREMIERS. Oh well.

Anomaly you say? nah brother.... You know Einstein was born with a gift and the most intelligent person that has ever lived on earth, Angelina is the same way but in musicianship and vocal ability. In my opinion one day civilization "will" admit that there has never been like her until now. And you might hear some other great singers but that is all they have singer. Angelina loaded with talent not just singing and her class as a person. She "will" be one day considered the best Artist that has ever lived on earth.
One of the things that makes it hard to guess about the number of prodigies there may be is the number of variables that have align perfectly to give them the opportunity to be recognized. Angelina has a mother and grandmother who both realized she was gifted at an early age. They nurtured her and introduced her to opportunities. They had/have financial wealth. Her family guided her in developing values and protected her from people and environments that could corrupt her. Pretty much the "Perfect Storm" or environment for a prodigy to be born into. If she had been born into a family in a remote village in Africa, with barely sufficient resources to survive, we would never have known of her. How many have we missed because they were not so fortunate?
Regarding “I Have Nothing” (the Whitney Houston song), Angelina has recorded it at age 13 at home and then a studio version and several live performances at age 16.

Hopefully this video will keep you from shying away from her early performances. So many amazing performances at every age. You will see that no matter what the age, her talent and professionalism is beyond her years.
What you never heard a 6year old walk into a studio for the very first time and belt out a adult song in a different language and only makeone small mistake ??? Ain't she Awesome !!! And yes Grandma Mery recorded it on her cellphone

In her audition on Norways Got Talent her mothers watching her behind the scenes crying. Her hands to her mouth as if she is only now understanding the reality of whats just happened.Then the interview afterwards. The mum doesn't look entirely happy. More matter of fact and slightly guarded. Angelina had been asking to go on the show since she was 3 years old. No one in the family sings or is a musician. Angelina is the driving force but they had some insight in how to deal with a prodigy because her grandma Meri Zamani was a famous child prodigy a painter and poet. She was on her local radio reciting poetry she had written as a preschooler. The family also received alot of good advice from the got talent judges. They all fell in love with the polite talented little girl, who was shy unless it had anything to do with music. The opposite of a stage school brat with pushy parents. The family sCrificed alot to protect Angelina. They turned down everyone including Disney. They only signed her up at 14 because Republic agreed not to push her out till she finished school.

Good reaction, i always like to see the reactors react to two things Angelina does in this video. But you closed your eyes or looked away from the video, but you didn't see them. There's two things she does that are really cute and show how excited she is. Go back and watch them if you get a chance.
I know he missed her excited jump after delivering that first chorus. What is the second thing you look for? The thumbs up? Just curious.♥👣

I don't think anyone asked her rd. I think she was just letting her Grandma or whoever was recording this know, 'I got this!' In some her other videos about this time she used many thumbs up throughout the performances. She was just excited to be in a studio throughout these 4 performances. 'Rolling in the Deep', 'Skyfall" and the other one I don't recall right now.🙂♥👣@@rdmcnabb
I close my eyes to focus on the vocals because the quality of the recording wasn't great It also helps me take in the feeling and emotion of the song.If I'm doing a reaction and primarily concentrating on the things happening in the video instead of the music, you can infer that I'm not crazy about it. With Angelina I don't have that issue. All that being said, I wish I would have caught that.

Angelina is now 18 and as she moves into adulthood may she continue a safe and successful journey. She is not only superstar but a beautiful and compassionate human being.

That is likely her music teacher doing the recording here. Have to believe that Grandma Mery is probably recording the video on a phone or hand held camera, also could be Mom, Sara. Grandmas has pretty much recorded the entire life of this child so my bet is on her. Thanks for take us all back to "the beginnings" of this child prodigy/genius young lady. Happy New Year. 🥰🥰
Hi Carl.. first at all a Happy new Year to you .. then when it comes to this Performance .. not her first time in a Rec Studio I would say .. but like according to the Subtitles the first take on ths Song .. remember the 3 other she did .. "Skyfall" -is more playfull - and "Rollin in the Deep" and "Hurt" -seem to be on the same Day - ... so they must be recorded earlier .. this one is more Serious and Focused and later that Year .. I'm guessing based on my observatoin .. and it's the Recording Studio at her Music School what I've heard and the Guy was refered as her Music Teacher ..
Agree. I was always of the mind that it was Grandma Mery recording it. Just because as you said, she was always recording everything in Angelina's life and posting it to her own fan page for AJ. For that, we all owe Mery a never ending depth of gratitude.

There are other videos of Angelina in that booth at around 6 or 7: what they show is an incredibly fast progression / improvement from the earliest (Skyfall is I think the earliest available on UA-cam, though there are other videos of Angelina singing at 5... one in her house singing "Rolling in the Deep") to this one... quite incredible.
Hi Geoffrey .. Angelina did also "Hurt", "Rolling in the Deep" and "Skyfall" in that Studio .. at age 5 indeed she was playing her Ukulele (who is not so good like Angelina said) and sing "Rolling in the Deep" after she shows the Reporter her Toys ..

Initially, she is going through the lyrics and is irritated by something, probably the middle section, where she tripped up a bit (not that one can notice it). This studio is a facility in the Oslo music school Angelina attended, and the "technician" is one of her music teachers.
