I wish every person in the free world could see and hear this whole program! It would, I think, make a lot of people look at their freedom in a much more appreciative way! I am so proud of Angelina for being such a mature, caring, loving sole even at this young age! And her ability to sing with so much feeling and emotion is something I have never heard from any other singer/vocal artist!! Thanks so much for the history lesson which, I'm embarrassed to say, I knew very little of & for the interview with Narges Mohammadi's children, who are the same age as Angelina, with similar maturity. Lets hope they get their mother back in the near future. This performance is so emotional I've teared up every time I've heard it, so far, & it is my favorite version of the song by Angelina, or by anyone (sorry Bobby). Well done!

I also happen to believe that Iran was most likely where Angelina met the young Orphan girl that she gave her shoes to. Angelina is also part Iranian through her Grandmother Mery. So the connections are many and intimate. One can say she is a True Asian Iranian Princess. Our Barefoot Princess is embracing her heritage and representing it so beautifully. While also drawing attention to the struggle for freedom. What a monumental beautiful moment. She has of course a long history with KORK and has performed with them many times. It was evident why KORK is considered one of the best in Europe. That beautiful accompaniment was perfect. They kept Angelina's voice and performance the center of attention. The complemented her masterfuly never once playing over her. A stunning performance by our Barefoot Princess. ♥👣

Wonderful video Joel. Watched all of this live with many Angels present in the livestream....very emotional and so sad what Iran is doing to the Mother of these wonderful Children. Maybe one day they will come out of the dark ages and as Narges son said be like Norway. Angelina's performance here had tears running down my cheeks it was so so beautiful. As Angelina's angels, we certainly love her music so much and embrace the message of love she reminds us with, at every opportunity. Certainly Angelina was thrilled to be performing back in her home country of Norway, where she is a national treasure, but this performance goes way beyond that honor. Angelina is the FIRST musical artist to perform a second time at a Nobel Peace Prize event. She first performed at the Save the Children event at the 2014 Peace Prize ceremony, when she was 8 years old.
Narges Mohammadi was this years' recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. Narges, is currently on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran, for being an activist for women's rights. Her two children spoke on her behalf at this event. Most of the performers were Iranian.
We know Angelina's grandmother, Mery Zamani, grew up in Iran and was a prodigy for painting and poetry. We can imagine the conversations Mery had with Angelina about Narges. This performance had to be extremely meaningful to Angelina and her family. I hope all the angels will spread the story of Narges and her mission, with the hope for change.

Je suis d'accord avec vous. Je n'ai découvert Angelina qu'il y a moins d'une année. Depuis, bien sûr, j'en parle autour de moi. Mais quand on rentre dans son histoire, quand on prend le temps de visionner, de lire, de remettre dans l'ordre les étapes de sa jeune vie, ça prend du temps. Or Angelina, ce n'est pas qu'un enfant prodige, ce n'est pas qu'une voix, c'est bien plus, on la découvre peu à peu, ce qui a été mon cas. Et je le vois bien autour de moi, je ne me contente pas d'envoyer un lien à mes amis, il faut raconter sa vie et faire découvrir quelle magnifique personne elle est. Bien sûr il y a l'histoire de ses pieds nus, mais je pense aussi ensuite aux dédicaces à son grand-père, à Aretha Franklin, à son ami Avicii, qui témoignent d'une sensibilité rare. Ensuite, bien sûr, au delà de la voix, c'est sa manière de s'emparer de la musique et de communiquer. Elle n'a peur de rien, c'est aussi ce qui la rend si attachante. Et maintenant on la découvre comme auteur... Angelina c'est tout un monde et, comme vous dites, elle va s'imposer peu à peu.

Wikipedia: Unchained Melody is a song written by Alex North (music) and Hy Zaret (lyrics), and it was first released in 1955 as the soundtrack and theme song for the film Unchained, hence the name. The film is about an inmate in a prison who is in the dilemma of whether he should escape or serve out his sentence so that he can be reunited with his loved one.

Yes, it starts to be how it should be all over the world. I have a strong belief in the coming generations. It all depends on how much the leaders of today damaging their minds and the world in general. We do see some influence on some Norwegians as well. But I prefer to think on, and believe in the younger generations.

1960's. Angelina has covered the song a few times, beginning when she was quite
young and also into her mid teens. That said, whereas Angelina's presentations have
always been my second favorite, as she stayed 'spot on' with emulating Bobby, this
latest rendition at the Nobel Prize Event, takes the song in a 'Jazz infused' way to a
totally different level than this song has ever been taken to before. She injects a truly
emotion laden, heartfelt penetration that is a worthy tribute to the woman being
honored in Oslo and one that I believe would bring a tear to the eye of Bobby as he
listens to it in the 'far beyond'.
Oh yes a lot of emotion, even after hearing her ten times and more 🙏💕

I don’t think that’s falsetto, she just climbs higher and higher into her head voice. For a man that might be a falsetto, but for the few female singers like Angelina with unbelievable vocal control, she’s still in her head voice. I guess it depends also on what is your definition of falsetto.

So, part of the second verse was omitted from the song. If it was Angelina’s idea to shorten the song fine, but she flew halfway around the world to sing this beautiful masterpiece, but if the committee didn’t give her enough time to sing the complete song, shame on them.
Why not check how much time other performances took .
I've checked the first 3 performances , one performance was a little less than Angelina , the second was a little more, the 3rd was about the same. nothing in it really the second was about 30 seconds longer .
@@tomwhite4736 I wonder how much longer the performance of this song in Portsmouth is than is this one without part of the second verse here, even though she did sing it at a slower pace in Portsmouth.

@@tomwhite4736 here are the lines she dropped from this performance. “And time goes by so slowly and time can do so much Are you still miiiiiiiiine I would rather they had dropped the intro if it meant omitting an important part of the lyrics.
