I always enjoyed this game, and while it may not be as good as 1.5 or 2, I think a lot of people are unnecessarily harsh on it. I feel like there is a solid amount of strategy to it until you know the best combos, and I enjoy how it’s fairly dark and leaves open enough questions for 2, so for a first timer, I think this can keep them invested in the plot before things get too wild
I agree, playing this game with the hindsight of everything that comes after made me feel like I needed to hyper-analyse and remember everything that was going on, when really the story is a lot more laid back than that and isn't too difficult to understand unless you skip entries or haven't played a previous kingdom hearts game in a long time.
No I don't think it's hated enough
